We wear a poppy
On Remembrance Day,
And at eleven
We stand and pray.
Wreaths are put
Upon a grave.
As we remember
Our soldiers brave.

Remembrance Day November 11th is a memorial day observed in
Commonwealth counties since the end of World War 1 to remember the
members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
LEST WE FORGET Poppies available at the club.
Another month has past swiftly and winter is on our doorstep, time for winter
tires and shopping for snow shovels and blowers. With any luck we won’t see the
white stuff until December.
I would like to thank all officers and volunteers for their hard work and support
they have given me and the Aerie to date. We have a wealth of information on
our web site, upcoming events and sports to name a few.
FOE2102.com check it out.
Membership continues to grow. We have exceeded our quota compared to last
year and well on the way to a very good year. Many of our new members have
already expressed interest in volunteering wherever needed. Do not forget to
pay your dues prior to 31 December dues are $45.00 or $50.00 after 31
December.
Winter sports are well under way and our Thursday night nine ball league has
proven to be a huge success and loads of fun! Thanks Karl, Ron and Paul for their
work organizing the league. Monday 8 ball pool, Wednesday darts & Sunday
curling are going strong thank you to the usual organizers of these leagues. We
will be hosting Provincial curling 27Feb to 1 Mar 2015 volunteers will be required
if interested see Mike Bedel.
Grand Aerie held a survey training seminar in Lethbridge on the 10th of October,
Mike Bedel and Neil Stewart attended and reported that it was very informative.
The survey is to identify criteria that should be followed to have a successful
Aerie and we are not far of that mark.
Thought for the month: If everyone works to a common goal and maintains a
positive attitude success will be the result.

Wow what a great October we had this year! Oktoberfest was a big success and a great time was had by all.
Eagle members from Alberta /Saskatchewan attended the provincial pool
tournament for an awesome weekend and danced to the wee hours of the morning to "Mullet Man", Ron Pederson. Thank you Ron great fun.
The kids Halloween party was fun and costumes were real cool! Thanks
Georgie and Colleen.
Join us in welcoming our many new bar staff to the world of Eagledom.
As we roll into November we need to get that outside stuff put away and winter tires on...be prepared.....have a great fall.......
About 35 kids attended our annual
Halloween party and were entertained
for an hour by the Clown Cartel which
was thoroughly enjoyed by all present.
The kid’s costumes were really
creative. Kudos to parents and
grandparents
for their input.
After a parade through the hall and
lounge, much to the delight of adults
present, winners of the best costumes
were selected. Thanks to our volunteer
judges Laura Sweeney and Steve Toop.
Steve told me he had already picked
winners
before we even asked him to judge.
Georgie did a great job of selecting
prizes for this event.
Following the best costume contest
Brian Message barbecued hot dogs for
lunch. Thanks Brian, they were
delicious!
A big thank you to Ken Jones for his
donation of Dilly Bars. They were a big
hit as always. We would also like to
thank Diane Parks for her donation of
cupcakes
and cookies. What kid doesn't like a
cupcake? Thanks again Diane.
Help in the kitchen is always great and
we would like to thank Lorraine
for that. Georgie, thanks for all your
help. We couldn't do it without you.
All in all the party was a huge success!
