Top Story - The Robert Morris University football team brings a close to the 2014 campaign this Saturday, Nov. 22, at Noon as the Colonials meet county rival Duquesne in a Northeast Conference contest at Rooney Field in each team’s season finale. Saturday’s affair will be broad- cast on ESPN3, and RMU is 7-2 (.778) in the past nine games it has played as part of the league's broadcast package, dating to the 2008 season. RMU dropped a decision to Saint Francis in its home finale last week after taking an early lead. Senior Duane Mitchell extended his RMU record of consecutive games with a catch against the Red Flash as he now has a reception in each of the past 32 outings. He needs six more catches to break his own single-season school record that he set in 2013. Robert Morris has 25 players on its roster that hail from within 50 miles of the Steel City in advance of this contest between local foes. If it accumulates fewer than 30 penalty yards Saturday, which it has done four times this year, Robert Morris will reset its low water mark for penalty yards in a campaign, breaking a mark that has stood since 2001. Quick Stat of the Afternoon - As with any season finale, there will student-athletes seeing their final action as a Colonial Saturday. Seniors Antwan Eddie and Duane Mitchell have both made their mark in a RMU uniform and provided fans with memorable moments. Both played nine games as true freshmen and haven’t looked back. Eddie owns the longest punt return in RMU history (88 yards) and has started 30 games in the secondary in the past three years while sur- passing 100 career tackles. Mitchell owns multiple school records, including single-season receptions, and made a lasting memory when he caught the game's only three touchdowns in a victory last year. Tony LaMancusa has been a mainstay on special teams for the last four years and needs a mere eight punting yards to break the RMU career record in that category. Jon Hill is set to make his 32nd career start on the offensive line Saturday against the Dukes. Saturday's Opponent - This will be the 16th overall meeting between Robert Morris and Duquesne and the 12th consecutive year that the schools have met. Neither program has won back-to-back games in the series since the Dukes did in 2006-07. Each of the last two games have come down to the final minutes with the Colonials claiming a come-from-behind win in 2012 and Duquesne eking out a one-point win in 2013. The Colonials have outscored the Dukes, 20-0, in the fourth quarter in the past two matchups. For more information on the all-time series against Duquesne, including the last game recap, please see page four of today’s game notes. On This Date (Nov. 22) in Robert Morris Football History - Robert Morris has played once before on November 22, and it was certainly a memorable occasion. RMU posted a win in the ECAC Bowl for the second straight season on this date 17 years ago. In what is the only meeting with Georgetown in program history, the Colonials scored early and often en route to the postseason win. Jake Newman (1994-97) tossed three touchdown passes to a trio of receivers in the first 19 minutes, staking the guests to a 21-7 lead, in what was his final game as a Colonial. That score stood until the fourth quarter when RMU added two TD's on the ground, and the Colonials took down the Hoyas, 35-13. Archie Wannamaker (1996-98) had a big day as he carried 29 times for a career-high 185 yards and a touchdown, an effort which helped RMU outrush Georgetown, 264- 50. John O’Connell (1995-98) led the way on defense for RMU as he registered eight tackles, 1.5 sacks and a pass breakup. Jason Spencer (1994-97) added seven stops and a sack to the effort. Head Coach John BanaszakFirst Season - Eastern Michigan ’75

John Banaszak became the second head football coach in Robert Morris University history in December 2013. He served as an assistant coach and assistant head coach for the Colonials for 11 consecutive years prior to taking over the top spot. Banaszak was selected as Coach-In-Waiting in January 2012, allowing for a simple transition following the 2013 campaign. At the end of the 2013 season, he was named as the Assistant Coach of the Year at the FCS level as selected by the American Football Coaches Association. He was one of five coaches selected for dedication to their teams and communities. He was the first RMU coach, as well as the first from the NEC, to claim this honor. The 2013 season was Banaszak's sixth as assistant head coach for Robert Morris. Among his numerous

duties with the program, he was responsible for tutoring the defensive line and the special teams unit. Under Banaszak's guidance in 2013, Robert Morris led the NEC in net punting, punt return defense and punt return average. Banaszak was also a key component in instructing a RMU defense that finished second in the NEC in total defense within league play in 2013. Robert Morris finished its regular season ranked among the top 25 nationally in at least seven defensive categories including total defense. With Banaszak's assistance, RMU has led the NEC in total defense four times in the past 10 years and ranked among the top four nine times in the past 11 seasons. Banaszak was a key component to a 2010 defense that led the NEC in total defense as the Colonials claimed the NEC's inaugural berth in the FCS Playoffs. In 2006, he helped tutor an RMU defense that led I-AA in total defense, allowing an average of just 228.36 yards per game. 10 of the 13 players in school history to earn All-NEC recognition on the defensive line have come under the tutelage of Banaszak, including Nolan Nearhoof (2009-12), who was named the 2012 NEC Defensive Player of the Year after breaking both the school and league records for career sacks. Nearhoof would go on to earn All-America honors, becoming the third Colonial defensive lineman to claim an All-America nod under Banaszak in a seven-year span. As much as Banaszak's presence has been felt on the defensive side of the ball, the same can be said on special teams. He has helped five distinct Colonials win an award at return specialist within the past decade. A graduate of Eastern Michigan, Banaszak signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers prior to the 1975 season and was one of only three rookies to make the defending Super Bowl champion team out of training camp. Primarily a special teams player on Pittsburgh's Super Bowl X championship team, Banaszak started five games the following season and then started at both right end and inside tackle in 1977 before suffering a knee injury that forced him to the injured reserve list. Between 1978 and 1980, Banaszak started 45 regular-season games at defensive end as the Steelers won back-to-back Super Bowls. In Super Bowl XIII, Banaszak recorded six tackles, including a pair of sacks, and a fumble recovery in a 35-31 win over the Dallas Cowboys, which garnered him Defensive Player of the Game honors. The following year, Banaszak helped the Steelers to a 31-19 victory over the Rams.

Game #6Duquesne 21, Robert Morris 20October 19, 2013 / Moon Township, Pa.

Joe Walton Stadium (Attendance: 2,893) - Robert Morris made a spirited comeback attempt but dropped a 21-20 decision to Duquesne in its NEC opener. Five of the game's first six drives garnered fewer than 10 yards of offense and resulted in punts with the lone exception being a missed field goal by the Dukes. Robert Morris took over inside its own 20 late in the first quarter and proceeded to run 16 straight plays, methodically moving the ball. On the 16th play, junior quarterback Paul Jones ran in to the left corner of the end zone on a bootleg to put the Colonials on top early in the second quarter. With each of the next two drives resulting in punts, Duquesne then moved the ball into RMU territory. Facing third-and-three from the 32, the Dukes ran two straight plays, but the Colonial defense was up to the task as it allowed zero combined yards on two rushes to force a turnover on downs, essentially ending the first half. Duquesne scored 21 straight points in the third quarter with two touchdowns, two safeties and a field goal as RMU consistently had poor field position in that frame. A vicious helmet-to-helmet hit by the Dukes on their final score lit a fire under the Colonials as they drove 71 yards on nine plays, spanning two quarters, to find paydirt. A season-long 24-yard rush by Jones moved the ball near the goal line before senior Deontae Howard pushed it across to narrow the lead to seven points. With Duquesne having moved the ball to midfield on its next drive, senior safety D.J. Myers would come up with a big play as he made a leaping interception right along the sideline to give the ball back to the Colonial offense. After picking up one first down, Jones then went deep down the right sideline and found junior wide receiver Duane Mitchell who made a tough grab and dropped one foot inbounds for a 34-yard gain. Four plays later, Jones broke the plane of the goal line with a rush to make the score 21-20, but Robert Morris would barely miss the extra point. The RMU defense forced a three-and-out from the Dukes, but the Colonials would turn the ball over on downs on their next possession. Robert Morris would force one more punt to get the ball back with under a minute to play. The Colonials would move the ball to their own 48-yard line and then completed a pass into Duquesne territory, but a fumble all but ended the contest. The RMU defense allowed just one scoring drive longer than 10 yards and held the Dukes to a mere 67 rushing yards. Redshirt senior Mike Cook led the way as he notched a game-high 13 tackles, including a tackle for loss.

Robert Morris Quick FactsLast Time Out - Robert Morris grabbed an early lead but was unable to hold on against Saint Francis … The Red Flash, who was coming off of a bye week, notched their fifth win against RMU in 21 tries … Senior Mike Stojkovic grabbed his fourth fumble recov-ery in 14 games for the Colonials … Saint Francis used five scoring drives under 50 yards to help pull away from RMU … Junior tight end Justin Kempka pulled in his second touchdown in NEC play … Junior Austin Trgovcich contributed nine tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss … Senior Forrest Mason netted two tackles for loss, including a solo sack ... Marcus Prather was 4-for-8 while passing for the first time in 2014.

Tkach Attack - After serving as a reserve in prior years, Jake Tkach has made the most of his opportunity in 2014. The starting linebacker leads the team with 77 tackles and is tied for the lead in tackles for loss (9.0). He ranks fourth in the league in tackles per game and second among players who ply their trade in the front seven of a defense.

On Target - Duane Mitchell had a breakout campaign as a junior in 2013 as he reset the single-season school record with 52 receptions and notched 867 receiving yards, the second-highest figure in RMU history. What made those stats even more impressive is that RMU faced four of the top 30 passing defenses in the nation a year ago. Mitchell has posted 47 catches in the first 10 games of 2014. That has moved him into second in both career receptions (126) and career receiving yards (1,757) at RMU. Mitchell is also fourth in career touchdown catches with 17.

Block Party - Sophomore Max Onyenwe blocked an extra point try by Wagner two weeks ago, the third blocked kick by a Colonial this year. It’s the first time since 2003 that Robert Morris has registered at least three blocked kicks in a season.

Taking His Chance - Since becoming a starter near the end of October, true freshman linebacker Gerald Ferguson has made sure offenses are aware of him. The rookie is averaging over eight tackles per game and has 4.5 tackles for loss in the past three games. He earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors Nov. 10 after an effort in which six of his 10 stops kept the offense from gaining positive yards.

Double-Take - After starting the first four games of the season at linebacker, Nic Lamica’s move to wide receiver is going well as evidenced by his NEC Rookie of the Week award Oct. 20. He caught eight passes Oct. 18, tying a RMU freshman record, and has topped 70 receiving yards three times and 100 yards once. Lamica is among a rare group to have both an offensive TD and an interception during the 2014 season.

Break It Up - The median completion percentage across the FCS in 2014 is 57.6%. Robert Morris has allowed only two of its past 17 opponents to reach that mark. In fact, six times in this stretch, the Colonials have held their opponent under a 45% rate. RMU had held each of its past three foes under a 50% mark, the second straight season in which the Colonials had compiled this type of stretch, before last week's game against SFU.

Special Special Teams - Senior Hunter Khaleghi had one of the finest special teams performances in school history Oct. 18 and subsequently earned NEC weekly honors. He was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goal attempts against CCSU, breaking a school record for field goal makes. It was also the most converted by any athlete in a NEC contest since 2002. He connected from a career-long 42 yards in the second quarter and also hit from 39 yards out. Khaleghi added a successful onside kick to his ledger as well.

Pick City - Robert Morris ranked among the top 15 nationally in interceptions in 2013, and the Colonial defense is trying to match that effort this year with 12 interceptions in the first 10 games. RMU has grabbed at least one interception in 14 of its past 17 games and multiple picks in eight of those contests. In fact, the Robert Morris defense has tallied 25 interceptions in the team’s past 15 games.

Start Me Up - Tony LaMancusa enters Saturday's game with the most consecutive start-ing assignments of all active Colonials as he has served as the punter for 43 straight games. When special teams is excluded, Antwan Eddie and Nick Faraci are tied for the most total starts among active Colonials at 32.

Game #10 • Saint Francis 40, Robert Morris 7November 15, 2014 • Moon Township, Pa.

Joe Walton Stadium (Attendance: 1,046) - Robert Morris grabbed an early lead against Saint Francis but was unable to hold on and dropped a 40-7 decision in NEC action. The Red Flash, who was coming off of a bye week, notched their fifth win against RMU in 21 tries. Senior Ryan Thermil carried the ball 17 times for 100 yards while senior linebacker Mike Stojkovic tallied a game-high 12 tackles, a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery. Robert Morris received the opening kickoff and marched into Red Flash territory before having to face a fourth down. Senior Tony LaMancusa then pinned the guests inside their own 10-yard line on a fine boot that was downed. The RMU defense then forced a three-and-out, and the Colonials returned the ensuing punt to the SFU 8-yard line. Three plays later, sophomore Luke Brumbaugh found junior tight end Justin Kempka in the front left corner of the end zone to open the scoring. After each team punted, Stojkovic pounced on a fumble at the Saint Francis 45-yard line. RMU moved 19 yards before a fourth down rush came up just short on the penultimate play of the first quarter. A pair of punts followed before SFU scored on its next two drives to take its first lead. The Colonials' hole then got deeper when they fumbled on a kickoff return, which led to a Red Flash field goal. Robert Morris moved into Saint Francis territory on its next drive before a turnover led to a Red Flash field goal drive to end the first half. After SFU scored on the first drive of the third quarter, Robert Morris marched right down the field and appeared to have scored on its first possession of the half with a six-yard rush. However, the offi-cials ruled that a fumble by the Colonial ballcarrier came before he broke the plane of the goal line. The Red Flash used the momentum of the call to reassert control for the remainder of the quarter. Sophomore linebacker Jimmy Masson provided a highlight for the Colonials on the first possession of the fourth quarter as he dropped back into coverage and picked off the Red Flash quarterback, notching the first interception of his career. Saint Francis would hit two field goals during the final stanza. RMU moved into Red Flash territory on its final drive but ran out of time before it could find the end zone. Austin Trgovcich and Ryan Richards Jr. each contributed nine tackles. The former added 1.5 tackles for loss while the latter notched two pass breakups to go along with his season high in tackles.

Last RMU GameAny Given Saturday - Before becoming a record-breaking receiver for RMU, Duane Mitchell began his career as a running back in his rookie season. Since moving to receiver, Mitchell has played in 32 games, and he has caught at least one pass in each of those outings. He has also caught multiple passes in 21 of the team's past 23 games. He broke the RMU record for consecutive games with a reception Nov. 8, which was held by tight end Shadrae King (2008-11), who caught a pass in each of the final 30 games he played.

Take Him Down - A number of Colonial defenders reset single-game highs in tackles in last week’s home finale against Saint Francis. Antwan Eddie notched a career high nine stops while true freshmen Drew Allen and Ryan Richards Jr. both notched season bests in tackles with seven and nine, respec-tively. Each member of the rookie duo also contributed two pass breakups. Defensive lineman Zack Zamiska also tied his career high with seven stops.

Initial Impressions - A number of RMU players have accrued a ‘first’ during the course of the 2014 season. A total of 26 Colonials have made their first-career start thus far, 14 on offense and 12 on defense. 16 of those 26 had never competed in a collegiate game before 2014. In all, 34 Colonials have made their collegiate debut this season. Luke Brumbaugh became the first redshirt or true freshman to start a season opener at quarterback for RMU since 1994.

Time to Buy Stock - The RMU defense was hit hard by graduation losses after last season, but one piece the Colonials are happy to have is linebacker Mike Stojkovic. Stojkovic, who was hampered by injuries in 2013, transferred to RMU from FBS school North Texas where he started nine games as a true freshman, making 48 tackles. He is among the top five in the NEC in tackles as he has 75 stops, 9.0 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries in 2014.

It's Not on Us - First-year head coach John Banaszak, who previously served in the Marines, has his team playing a very disciplined brand of football. Robert Morris is sixth nationally in fewest penalty yards per game among FCS programs, averaging 41.30 per outing. The Colonials have accumulated fewer penalty yards than their opponent in 10 of their past 12 games.

Spread the Love - Robert Morris grabbed 16 interceptions in 2013, its second-highest figure since 1999. What really was noteworthy about RMU's sum was that 11 different Colonials helped produce it, marking the most players to have at least one interception in any RMU season. After Jimmy Masson grabbed a pick last week against Saint Francis, 16 distinct Colonials have grabbed at least one interception in the team’s past 17 games.

The Century Mark - Senior Ryan Thermil carried the ball 17 times for 100 yards last week against the Red Flash, averaging nearly six yards per rush. It was his second 100-yard effort in the last four games and made him the 10th Colonial in program history to have multiple 100-yard efforts in a season, including the second RMU player to do it in 2014.

No Passing Zone - The Robert Morris defense has done well to keep opposing offenses from moving the ball through the air near the end zone. The Colonials have grabbed seven interceptions thus far this year within 20 yards of the end zone they were defending. Five different players have contributed to this mark while sophomore safety Andy Smigiera has three such grabs on the season.

Trick-or-Treat - Robert Morris has broken into its bag of tricks in recent weeks and had a great deal of success in doing so. In the last four games, RMU has recovered a surprise onside kick, converted a fake punt attempt, used a handoff during a kick return to spring a long gain and converted a two-point conversion with a pass to quarterback Derik Abbott.

The Sports Network FCS Top 25

NEC Champions since 1996

For Starters - When Robert Morris took the field last week against Saint Francis, it sported its 10th distinct offensive starting lineup in the first 10 games. RMU, which has sported different lineups on offense in its past 13 games overall, has seen 21 distinct players start on offense in 2014 alone.

Making the Grade - Senior offensive lineman Nick Faraci and senior wide receiver Duane Mitchell were both named Capital One Academic All-District First Team earlier this month. As a result of their first-team selections, both Colonials advanced to the Academic All-America ballot. This is second straight year that Faraci has earned this honor and the first such award for Mitchell as they continued the trend of academic successes in the football program. These two accolades gave the Colonial program at least one Academic All-District honoree in each of the past 12 seasons, a span in which Robert Morris has taken home 23 overall selections. To put that in perspective, no other NEC school has an active streak of football Academic All-District selections lon-ger than three years. Faraci, a nursing major, has a sterling 3.92 GPA. He has started 32 consecutive games at center, the most consecutive starts by any active Colonial on offense or defense. Mitchell, a finance major, has a 3.42 GPA. He has 47 catches for 453 yards this year and became the first RMU wide receiver to ever claim this honor.

Ramming Defenses - Rameses Owens was named National Freshman of the Week after breaking school records in the road opener at North Dakota. He is believed to be the first Colonial ever to earn Freshman of the Week honors from The Sports Network. Owens had a breakout performance as he racked up a RMU freshman record 199 rush-ing yards while finding the end zone once. In the non-conference finale, Owens ran for 154 yards against Monmouth, averaging over six yards per rush. North Dakota is one of four RMU opponents ranked among the top 25 nationally in rushing defense.

Hurry Up – One of Darrin Hicks' goals as offensive coordinator is to run plays at a high rate. RMU has run at least 80 plays 12 times in program history with four of those occurrences coming in the first 10 games of this year. That figure has tied the 2004 RMU team for the most 80+ play games in a season.

Catch Me If You Can - Antwan Eddie had a challenge cut out in duplicating his 2013 effort as he became the first Colonial to be named an All-American for a performance on special teams. He returned punts for the first time in his career in 2013 and tallied a single-season school record 405 yards on 27 returns. He ranked third in the FCS, averaging 15 yards per return, and broke a school record with an 88-yard return for a TD at VMI. Eddie, who also earned postseason acclaim by garnering All-NEC honors at cornerback, leads the league in punt return average in 2014 at 10.2 yards per clip.

They'll Be Back - One interesting way to examine the youth of the Colonials is to look at the number of players that started the season opener who will be finished with their careers after this season. Of RMU’s 22 offensive and defensive starters from its opener, only three Colonials—two on offense, one on defense—will have used all of their NCAA eligibility when the 2014 campaign is completed.

Punt It - Tony LaMancusa earned All-NEC honors in 2013 after leading the league in punting. He also helped RMU top the NEC in both net punting and punt return defense. LaMancusa, a four-year starter, broke the Robert Morris record for career punts in the NEC opener and has currently booted the ball 252 times. He has notched 34 punts downed inside the 20 against only six touchbacks in his last 23 games.

Colonial Comeback - In its Oct. 18 home game, Robert Morris fell behind 24-6 early in the third quarter after Central Connecticut State scored on its first drive of the half. At that point, CCSU had zero turnovers and had accrued 281 yards of total offense com-pared to RMU’s 180. However, RMU rallied by scoring the game’s final 21 points. Robert Morris forced turnovers on three of CCSU's next four drives, with the lone exception being a punt. Meanwhile, the hosts scored on four consecutive possessions to give the Colonials the lead. Robert Morris finished +2 in turnovers and ended the game leading in total yards as the Colonials held CCSU to 59 yards of offense in the final 29 minutes. And that’s how RMU posted the largest come-from-behind win in program history.

Farison Elevated to Assistant Head Coach

Robert Morris University head coach John Banaszak announced September 10 that Scott Farison had been promoted to assistant head coach. Farison is in his 13th season on the sidelines for RMU and is the longest-tenured active mem-ber of the staff. He is in his eighth season as the defensive coordinator for the Colonials, and he will retain the responsibility for leading the defense in his new role. "Scott's been here for 13 years and absolutely deserves this promotion to assistant head football coach," Banaszak said. "He performs many duties that are not in his job description and is definitely my right-hand man. Promoting him to assistant head coach is certainly the next step in his career." The Colonials have consistently produced quality defenses under Farison's watch, and last year was no exception. In Farison's 11 seasons coaching the defensive side of the ball at RMU, the Colonials have finished among the top 25 nationally in total defense on six occasions, including finishing among the top 11 on four of those occurrences. Robert Morris has led the Northeast Conference in total defense four times in the past 10 years with guidance from Farison. In 2013, RMU ranked second in total defense within league play, finishing in the top two in that category for the third time in five years. Farison helped the RMU defense finish the regular season among the top 25 nationally in a number of defensive categories including third-down defense, first downs allowed, passing defense, red zone defense, passing efficiency defense, turnovers gained and total defense. Farison has been directly responsible for helping four different Colonials to NEC Defensive Player of the Year honors within the past decade, including two within the past four years. He has also assisted two Colonials to NEC Defensive Rookie of the Year honors in his time at RMU. In Farison's seven seasons as defensive coordinator, he has seen RMU claim 21 All-NEC awards on the defensive side of the ball. Farison had spent the past decade as the recruiting coordinator for Robert Morris, but as part of the move, Banaszak announced that assistant coach Andrew Richardson would assume that role. Richardson, the team's offensive line coach, is in his eighth season on staff with RMU. In Richardson's seven seasons as an assistant, RMU offensive linemen have claimed seven All-NEC honors with two separate Colonials earning All-America awards.

Robert Morris in the 2014 NEC StatsThe Founding Father - The one constant in the first two decades of Colonial football was former head coach Joe Walton. Walton, the former NFL tight end and head coach of the New York Jets, started the program from scratch, com-pleting everything from hiring assistants to purchasing equipment. He was named NEC Coach of the Year four times in 18 seasons and guided RMU to a pair of NCAA I-AA mid-major national crowns during his time on the side-lines. Walton, currently a special assistant to the athletic director at Robert Morris, was inducted into the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame in November 2013.

Get To The Chopper - A quick glance at RMU’s record when broken down proves how important it is the Colonials get off to a good start in contests. When Robert Morris is leading at halftime, the program owns an all-time record of 89-13 (.873). When trailing at the break, Robert Morris owns a mark of 13-79-1 (.145). Even going into halftime tied is beneficial, as the Colonials own an overall record of 14-9 (.609) in such games.

The Magic Mark - Since the Colonials began play in 1994, there have been 76 games in which Robert Morris has scored 30 or more points. In those contests RMU boasts a record of 71-5 (.934), including a record of 42-5 (.894) in games in which the team scores between 30 and 39 points. In games in which the Colonials score 40 or more points, RMU is a perfect 29-0.

RMU Football Historical Tidbits - The inaugural running back at Robert Morris, the late Tim Hall (1994-95), rushed for 2,908 yards in his two seasons as a Colonial. Hall still owns the FCS season and career records for yards per carry, with his season record of 8.7 yards per carry set in 1994 and his two-year career record of 7.4 established in 1994 and 1995 ... Hall also ranks fourth all-time in the FCS in both rushing yards per game (153.1) and all-purpose yards per game (194.8) ... Former Colonial linebacker James Noel (2002-05) ranks sixth in the FCS record book for career tackles per game (10.7), while his career tackle total of 437 takedowns ranks 14th all-time ... Former linebacker and current assistant coach Alex DiMichele (2008-10) averaged 10 tackles per game over his three years in a Robert Morris uniform, which ranks 13th all-time in the FCS record book ... Robert Morris has topped the nation in passing defense twice in the past 15 years, based on passing efficiency defense rating. The Colonials topped the charts in 1999 (with a 80.80 rating) as well as in 2006 (with a 88.70 rating).

Did You Know? - Robert Morris owns the all-time FCS record for the most consecutive quarters while holding an opponent scoreless. During the 1996 season, the Colonials went 15 straight quarters without allowing a single point. In fact, the record-setting streak occurred at the beginning of the sea-son. RMU posted three straight shutouts -- 20-0 against Mercyhurst (9/7), 38-0 against Butler (9/14) and 7-0 against Towson State (9/21) -- to open the campaign and then held Central Connecticut State (9/28) scoreless for the first three quarters before finally allowing a point for the first time all sea-son. In all, Robert Morris went 234:04 before allowing a point in 1996. RMU went 9-2 (.818) in 1996, claiming a share of the NEC championship, and con-ceded just 12.9 points per game.

Robert Morris CaptainsHead coach John Banaszak announced before Week 8 that senior linebacker Mike Stojkovic was named as a captain, giving the Colonials a trio of permanent captains. Robert Morris previously had one offensive captain and one defensive captain with two additional players serving as captains each week on a rotating basis.

OFFENSERedshirt senior Jon Hill is the team’s captain on offense. Hill is the most experienced offensive lineman on the ros-ter, having played in 35 career games. He started every game at right tackle in 2013 and has also started at right guard. Hill actually entered RMU as a defensive lineman coming out of high school, but he was transitioned to the offensive side of the ball before his sophomore season.

DEFENSESeniors Antwan Eddie and Mike Stojkovic are the team’s captains on defensive. Eddie is a three-year letterwinner and two-year starter at cornerback. He claimed all-con-ference honors at both defensive back and return special-ist last season after breaking the single-season school record for punt return yards. He owns 114 tackles, seven interceptions and 537 punt return yards in his career. Stojkovic transferred to RMU from an FBS program before the 2013 season. After playing only four games due to injury last year, he has started every game at linebacker in 2014. He owns 93 tackles at RMU and 10.5 tackles for loss.

Colonial football games are heard live on ESPN Radio AM-970 Pittsburgh, the flagship station of Robert Morris University athletics. ESPN 970 and RMU reached a three-year agreement in the summer of 2013 to broadcast foot-ball, men’s basketball and men’s hockey games. The Voice of the Colonials, Chris Shovlin, and color analyst Brian Cleary call the football action. RMU Assistant Sports Information Director Spencer Kowitz joins Shovlin as color analyst for select Colonial road games. "The John Banaszak Show" is on 30 minutes prior to kickoff. Games can also be heard on the station’s website, www.970espn.com, as well as on iHeartRadio. RMU home and league games can be seen live for free on NEC Front Row, the conference’s online digital net-work. The league has added multiple upgrades this year, including the ability to transmit live events in HD as well as providing the ability for the viewer to use a DVR-style, in-game real-time rewind feature.

Colonials in the NFLSince Robert Morris played its first season in 1994, three former Colonials have appeared in a game in the National Football League (NFL), the most among current NEC members in this span as of August 2014. Many players have “rewritten” record books at various schools. At Robert Morris, however, Tim Hall wrote the record book. Hall rushed for 2,908 yards on 393 carries in his two seasons in a Colonial uniform and was named an All-American by the Associated Press in 1995. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round (183rd player overall) in the 1996 NFL Draft. In 1997, he led the Raiders in yards per carry average with 5.2 and was second in rushing yards to Napolean Kaufman. On Sept. 30, 1998, Hall was shot and killed in Kansas City at age 24. Hank Fraley, who played on the offensive line for Robert Morris from 1996-1999, carved out a niche for himself in the NFL for over a decade. Fraley was a three-time Mid-Major All-American during his years at RMU before he was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers to a free-agent contract in April 2000. Fraley was later claimed by the Eagles and started at center for Philadelphia for the entire 2001 season, helping the team to the 2002 NFC Championship game. For four straight seasons with Fraley starting at center from 2002-05, the Eagles appeared in the NFC Championship game. In 2005, Fraley became the first RMU alum to appear in the Super Bowl when he started at center against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX. Former RMU defensive back Robb Butler played for the San Diego Chargers during the 2004 season and was featured in special teams situations, including returning kickoffs.
