2. Management Conditions on Boundaries Boundary Conditions
Private Property Private property occurs adjacent to the western boundary of the compartment, as indicated on the HPOM. Private property owners have been notified of the scheduled harvesting and post-harvest burning. The PP boundary must be located and marked by the FT.
FMZ FMZ 3A Harvesting Excluded, FMZ 7 (non-forest use) and FMZ 4- General Management occur within the compartment and are shown on the HPOM.
FMZ 3A – Harvesting and harvesting machinery are not permitted in these areas. The crew must protect the exclusion zone. This exclusion is to be marked by the FT as described in the Marine Park Section of the this plan.
FMZ7 within compartment 101. Refer to infrastructure section of this plan for conditions.

Pests/Weeds Myrtle Rust Is known to occur in Shoalhaven Shire Council. To prevent further spread the crew/haulage operators must ensure all harvesting machinery, equipment and vehicles heading west from Shoalhaven Shire or south into Victoria are checked and all infected vegetation removed.
Forest Permits 6 apiary ranges are occupied.
No permanent set down sites occur.
No bees were out during planning.
6. Infrastructure Infrastructure Conditions
Utilities Underground Telecommunication cable owned by Telstra (copper cable) runs along the powerline easement (in FMZ7) and within the harvest area on the western side of the compartment. The location of the cables is indicatively mapped on the HPOM. Prior to harvesting and haulage in the vicinity of the cables the HC is required to engage an accredited cable locator and follow their advice in regards to minimising damage to cables. The crew must report all damage to underground utilities immediately via https://service.telstra.com.au/customer/general/forms/report-damage-totelstra-equipment
The company Coastal Cable Locators (Scott O’Malley) are the local accredited cable locators which are in the FCNSW system. Contact number is 0427 975 777.
Transmission lines A transmission line is shown on the HPOM adjacent in FMZ7.
Safe Work Practice for working near overhead power lines must be implemented by the crew before any work is undertaken within 2 tree lengths.
Control Lines For Post Log Burning
In this compartment post log burning must be prevented from entering TEC and Private Property. Control Lines to be constructed by the crew (and billed to FCNSW) are indicatively mapped on HPOM, however final location will depend on snig tracks and areas harvested. The HC must liaise with the Protection Supervisor during harvesting to more accurately plan where control lines are required.

7. Harvesting Conditions
Silviculture Type Harvesting Objectives and Condition for each stand condition
STS Heavy
(mapped Resource Unit 1)
The stands within the compartment is predominately comprised of Spotted Gum, Ironbark, Blackbutt, Bloodwood and Sydney Peppermint. Mahogany, Blue Gum and Rough Barked Apple also occur. Predominately mature to over mature trees with little potential for future value growth. Some patches of advanced regrowth with potential future growth. The objective is to harvest all commercially available trees to create canopy openings and ensure mechanical disturbance creates a suitable seed bed for regeneration of the stands.
Crew to retain well formed seed trees of preferred species at ~40 m spacing
HC to instruct crew to retain patches of quality advanced regeneration where they occur.
Crew to remove all merchantable stems not marked for retention and ensure mechanical disturbance creates a suitable seed bed for regeneration.
The crew is responsible for protecting retained seed trees and retaining patches of advanced regeneration.
Future Treatment Area
Mapped as “Excluded Forest”. To be retained for future harvesting treatments and to manage IFOA basal area limits for this harvesting event.
Monitoring The HC must conduct Basal Area monitoring in areas treated with STS Heavy .
Any changes to treatment and offset areas need to be endorsed by the Operations Planning Manager.
