K/1H FORMAL ASSEMBLY
Parents and friends are invited to a formal assembly this
Friday 28 August at 2pm where K/1H will present a class item
and our Year 5 and 6 students will lead the assembly.
RURAL FIRE SERVICE
Our students will be treated to a lovely visit from the Rural
Fire Service where they will learn about what to do in the
case of a fire emergency. They will participate in a fire
evacuation drill and also see some of the equipment that the
fire service personnel will have on display.
HIGH SCHOOL TRANSITION CONTINUES
Year 6 students will travel to Camden Haven High School
during Wednesday next week on the 2 September to
participate in the next part of the extensive Transition to
High School program.
PORT MACQUARIE EISTEDDFOD - DANCE
We are really looking forward to seeing our K/1 and 5/6
students performing at the Dance Eisteddfod on Thursday 17
September. We wish them well and truly thank all of our
parents for their continued support of our dancers. Go get
‘em! Much appreciation should be directed to Mrs Egan,
Mrs Haste, Mrs McCleary and Mr Pringle for their super
leadership. Please return note as soon as possible for
transport purposes.

MILO CRICKET GALA DAY
Mr Pringle will be taking a number of Years 3-6 students
to Laurieton Oval to participate in the Milo Cricket Gala
Day on Thursday 10 September. Please return notes
ASAP.
FOOTY COLOUR DAY
To celebrate healthy living and sport we will ask the
children to come in ‘Footy Colour’ on Friday 4
September. The children can wear any clothing that
would be supportive of a sporting team including
football, soccer, cricket, netball etc. We have registered
as a ‘Footy Colour Day” venue and will ask each child for
a gold coin donation to send off to support Cancer
research.
ANTARCTICA UNIT
Students in 4/5/6M will have the great opportunity to
hear from a special visitor who has spent time in
Antarctica. This will support their studies this term and
provide primary source information to complement their
own research. We will join with students in Year 5 & 6 at
North Haven PS for this worthwhile opportunity.
SCHOOL DISCO – P & C FUNDRAISER
Thursday 10 September 5pm – 6pm. $5.00 payable on
the afternoon. Bring your dancing shoes!
FATHER’S DAY STALL
The P & C are hosting a Father’s Day Stall on Thursday
and Friday next week. Gifts are $5.00 each. If you child
would like to purchase a second gift this may be possible
after all classes have purchased their gifts.
Thanks to the dedicated band of P & C volunteers for yet
another supportive venture.
P & C HELPERS
We are looking for any P & C members who have an hour
to spare on Sunday 13 September and would like to help
out at the North Haven Public School fete. Details can be
given to the office.
SIBLING ENROLMENT NOTIFICATION
If you have younger children that will be starting
school in the coming years, could you help us in our
planning by providing details of names, year enrolling
and grade they will be starting. A tear off slip is
provided in this week’s newsletter. This will assist us
in future staffing plans, room allocations, purchasing
of equipment to cater for our growing enrolments.

BOOK WEEK PARADE
Lake Cathie Public School celebrated Book Week on Tuesday.
A huge thank you to all the family and friends that supported
the children on the day as well as the staff for making the day
a success.
Congratulations to the children on their amazing costumes. It
was great to see so many characters from fiction books both
past and present.

Uniform Sale
All current stock of uniforms can be purchased at current prices until the end of Term 3.
Our new order of stock, arriving in mid-October, ready for new enrolments for 2016 contains
an unavoidable 19% increase.
If you want to purchase new uniforms for your growing children for 2016 we will offer all
existing stock, WHILE STOCKS LAST, at current prices as all prices will increase in Term 4. The
new stock is no different to current stock.
How: P & C Uniform volunteers will be available on Thursday afternoon 10 September
(during the Disco) and all day Friday 11 September if you wish to try sizes.
You can place an order and as they are received, they will be placed in a queue
and filled until stocks run out.
Some stock is not available in all sizes.
You will be notified when your order is filled on how to pay for your order and if
there was enough stock to fill your order.
We apologise if we run out of the size you require but we wanted to give all
current parents the chance to purchase before the price rise next term.

Bravehearts Camden Haven is
conducting a Walk for
William, 12th
September,
2015. The walk will
commence sharply at 10.30
am at the Kew Pub car park.
We are assembling at 10 am.
The walk is being supported
by the Police and SES. The
road between Kew Pub and
out to Kendall Memorial Park
will have a rolling closure for
us to walk safely, with an SES
vehicle in the front and one
at the back. After the walk we
will go to the Kendall Show
Ground where kids events are
organised by the William
Tyrell Foundation Committee
of Kendall and Bravehearts
will be doing a $2 Sausage
Sizzle.
Camden Haven Quilters Inc Raffle
This beautiful queen sized quilt is one of three great prizes including a weekend away.
Tickets are available from the office for $2 a ticket and will be sold up until the 18 September 2015.
Camden Haven Quilters are holding an exhibition on the 3 to 5 October at the Laurieton School of Arts.
