Student Voice
Kayla Gilchrist and Ovanna Hodgkin are our intrepid reporters
writing for Student Voice this week. Our reporters decided to
interview two new staff members.
Ovanna:
I spoke to Mrs
Crain, class teacher
of Flinders.
Mrs Crain where
were you teaching
before you came
to Franklin?
I was at Adelong
Public School in
2019 and before
that in Wagga and
also Sydney.
How is Franklin different to your last
school?
It is a much bigger school than the school I
was at last year.
Some children feel nervous when they have
to change schools, so were you feeling
nervous before you had to start here at
Franklin?
Yes I was feeling a bit nervous, but everyone is making me feel welcome here.
What have you
enjoyed so far
about teaching
here?
I love teaching new
students each year
and there are lots
of great
opportunities for
learning at this
school.
What are you looking forward to at
Franklin?
I am looking forward to getting to know all of the staff and students at FPS this year.
Kayla:
I spoke to Mr Crane,
teacher of Cook.
Mr Crane what was it
like teaching in
England?
In England I got to teach
at almost 50 different
schools and I got to
meet students from all
over the world. Franklin
students are still the best students in the world!
Do you think you will go to any other
countries to teach?
I enjoyed teaching in England and I think Canada would be a great place to teach, but for now I’m very happy to be teaching at Franklin.
What do you
enjoy most
about
teaching
Kindergarten?
I enjoy seeing the growth of the students from the start of the year until the end of the year.
I know Mr Crane loves his football so I asked
him to give me some predictions for the
coming season.
Do you think Tumut will win the Group 9
Grand Final again this year?
Gundagai Tigers to win in 2020! (Sorry Zac
Masters)
Can the Roosters
win three NRL
titles in a row?
YES!!

Milson Island
Stage 3 students had a wonderful
time at Milson Island last week. The
weather was kind and students got
to experience a range of activities.
Students followed our PBL values
and were very encouraging of each
other in all activity participation.
Staff at the centre were terrific and
even though our staff didn’t have
service for the first few days none of
the student activities or safety was
compromised.
A big thank you to Franklin staff who
went along. What a great week!

Festival Of Choral Music
Miss Rampling and Mrs Argaet were in
Sydney last Friday for Teacher Profession-
al Development. Our school produced a
successful audition for the Festival of
Choral Music to be held in Sydney in Au-
gust. A busy year for Franklin!
Tumut Community Pantry
Franklin have received a letter of thanks from Tumut Commu-
nity Pantry for our generous donations last year for their
Christmas Bags. Parents dropped items into the school office
at end of term 4 last year. These bags helped families over the
Christmas period and our support has enabled the ministry to
help those less fortunate with dignity. Thank you for your
generosity Franklin parents!
Franklin Radio News is on the local sta-
tion every Wednesday at 10.15am. Tune in
to find out what’s happening at Franklin PS.
