Monster of the Month
October’s Monster of the Month is Andrew Yu! Andrew is currently a Sophomore and has been a member of Key Club since the begin-ning of his Freshmen year. His favorite parts of being in Key Club are being able to help or-ganizations, fundraisers, and events with his fellow monsters. One the most enjoyable and memorable events Andrew has attended is the Stonelake Elementary 5k Pancake Fun Run because it was his first Key Club event and he had fun helping with his friends. Besides Key Club, Andrew is also involved in Mathletes and Science Olympiad. Andrew says, “My friends inspired me to join Key Club because we all wanted to join Key Club to help out the community together.” Congratulations An-
Hi Monsters! The weather is finally getting chillier and some of us have just gotten back from Fall Rally North 2013. Look on pages 6 to 9 if you want the full recap! I hope you guys are all enjoying term 2 and if you’re not, I’m deeply sorry. I know how you feel. Life is the struggle. Anyway, just a couple reminders that UNICEF boxes are in! Be sure to grab one after the meeting tomorrow. Also, remember to turn in your membership forms into the concession stand if you have not done so already. I hope you all have a fabulous day and have a Happy Halloween!
In service and in friendship, Sharon Hsu Franklin Key Club Bulletin Editor

Region Training Conference
JENNIFER THAM Division Task Manager REGION 16'S TRAINING CONFERENCE WAS INCREEDIBLE! You wouldn't 'bee'lieve it. Ha, I'm so punny! Anyway, it was an amazing experience getting to see everyone from all over our region! I learned so much from experienced Key Clubbers, and was even privileged with the opportunity to lead my own workshop about Key Club funds and scholarships! These workshops gave helpful advice on how to 'bee' a better and more involved Key Clubber. (Seriously, can my jokes get any funnier?) If you didn't attend RTC this year, make sure to attend next year! I'll see ya' around my beautiful monsters!
Fairytale Town’s ScholarShare Children’s Book Festival SHARON HSU Bulletin Editor One fine early morning, I attended Fairytale Town's ScholarShare Children's Book Festival. At the event, Franklin Key Clubbers helped with costumes, arts and crafts, the garden, and clean up. I myself, helped out with arts and crafts by showing children how to make bookmarks out of the materials on the table. What amused these little kids the most was the assortment of shiny particles sitting in bottles at the very right of the table. Needless say, I don't think I've gotten all the glitter out of my clothing yet. Helping out with these kids was still a blast and it was great seeing all the unique designs each person made. Besides arts and crafts, Key Clubbers dressed up in Fairtytown's Humpty Dumpty cos-tume to take pictures with the kids. Others worked in the gardens by helping children plant vegetable seeds to grow. When the event drew to a close, the vol-unteers helped out with clean up by putting away tables, cleaning up garbage, and folding chairs.

Cheer Training LEO FU Member The Key Clubbers of Division 7 South came together to attend cheer training in preparation for Fall Rally. Key Clubbers from all over Division 7 got to work together and help teach others the cheers for this year's rally. This was my first cheer training and also my first Fall Rally so I didn't know the cheers and what to expect. But I was glad that I had the opportu-nity to attend because I got to learn the awesome cheers of my division and make a few new friends from other schools in the process. Also we took a group picture of the whole D7 South family to remember the good times of cheer training!

Fall Rally North SHARON HSU Bulletin Editor I woke up one beautiful Saturday morning to the sound of my blasted alarm clock and the first rays of the morn-ing sun hitting my face. It was the day I had been waiting for: Fall Rally North 2013. After throwing on my orange cape, white suspenders, and club t-shirt, my brother and I headed to school where we would be boarding the bus with the rest of Franklin Key Club to go to Six Flags. Before we left, I spray-painted some of the members’ hair so that their hair was bright orange. After arriving at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, the club walked to the stadium where the other divisions were waiting for the rally to start. Every year, my voice turns raspy after cheering so loudly at the rallies. This year was no different and even though our division didn’t win the spirit battle this year, it was still amazing to see such a big collective group of people working toward one common goal. This year’s rally winner was Division 23, home of the Turquoise Yetis! After the rally, it was off to the rollercoasters. I don’t think screaming on Superman was such a great idea. I was blessed to have met so many great people and to also hang out with my close friends. Everything was great, starting from the beginning of the day to the end. We cheered our hearts out at the rally, took selfies before rides, screamed on rollercoasters, and failed at winning prizes playing the carnival games. As the day drew to a close and night fell to reveal Fright Fest’s freaky members. Franklin Key Club parted ways with the other divisions and the rest of Division 7 South. However, this isn’t the end! Until Fall Rally 2014! Or… DCON?
