Is America head-ed for its biggest tax hike since

World War II?The answer, non-partisan fi scal watchdogs say, is yes -- but with a big “if” and a few cave-ats.

If Congress returns after the Nov. 2 midterm elections and does nothing, allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire, then New Year’s Day will usher in the nation’s biggest tax increase since the end of World War II, according to Gerald Ahern, spokesman for the Tax Foundation, a nonpartisan tax monitoring group.

“If nothing happens in Congress -- and that is a pos-sibility -- and all the tax cuts are allowed to expire, the median American family will see a smaller paycheck and a tax increase of $1,540 on January 1,” Ahern said.

I want you to notice that the Word declares that prosperity and success belong to people who are hearers and doers of His

Word. So to make this simple, if we are not hearing the uncompromised Word of God constantly, we cannot possibly be a people who will prosper and succeed.

Gods’ main thought here in Joshua 1:8 is compelling us to focus our attention on living our lives according to His Word. He doesn’t want us to live our lives controlled by our problems or our circumstances. He wants us free!

If you are not plugged into a local body of believers, who are constantly ministering and encouraging you to meditate on the Word of God, you will never be in a position of expe-riencing true prosperity and success in your life.

There are two defi nitions to the word “pros-perous” here in Joshua 1:8. The fi rst defi -nition of prosperity is to become mentally intelligent, to gain the wisdom of God in any situation. The second defi nition of the word prosperity means to PUSH FORWARD and to BREAK OUT.

The fi rst step in breaking out of your troubled circumstance is getting in a position where you are hearing and meditating on the Word of God. If you are not in a position of hearing Gods Word, or you are in a place where the Word of God is being watered down, you will never get to a place of freedom and prosper-ity in your life!

Romans 10:17 declares faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. 1 John 5:4 declares and this is the victory that overcomes the world even our faith. When the Bible makes this phrase: “the world” it is referring to a system of living. In fact the Bible tells us in 2 Cor 4:4 that Satan is the god of this world system, who con-stantly blinds the minds of them that believe not. His goal is to imprison you, to hold you in darkness.

Colossians 1:13 which declares “[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and

has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Amp)

Colossians 1:13 tells us that we have been delivered from the control and dominion of the darkness that is covering the earth today. Not only that but God has already translated you and I into a place of liberty, a place of Glory, a place of freedom - and that place is His Kingdom!

YOU SEE, LIVING BY HIS WORD, IS LIV-ING IN HIS KINGDOM!

LIVING IN HIS KINGDOM, IS LIVING IN

FREEDOM!

So if you are going to have faith to over-come this worlds system, and begin living in Gods Kingdom, you are going to have to hear His Word constantly. When you continue in His Word constantly you then will be able to do that Word.

In Isaiah 61 the Word prophesied that Jesus has the power to open the prison to them that are bound. That’s exactly what the world system, and religious tradition tries to do. It attempts to keep us con-formed to its death cycle of negativism, defeatism, and death.

John 10:10 tells us plainly that the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but the Lord has come to give us LIFE, and LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY. We must realize that God has provided a way, and Jesus was our example, on how to be FREE from the world’s death cycle of defeat.

God has provided the way for us to push forward, and to break out of these prison doors that try to hold us bound. Jesus did it! He has opened the doors. You can be-gin living in His Kingdom right now. Once you accept Him as your Lord and Savior, begin seeking out His Word. Find out what He as said, and live your life by it. Begin meditating on the Word of God until we are able to observe to DO that WORD!

You see it is by doing or acting on the Word of the Lord, that you and I begin experienc-ing the PROSPERITY and FREEDOM of living in His Kingdom!

TEA PARTIERS OPPOSE ABOR-TEA PARTIERS OPPOSE ABOR-TION, NOT JUST DEFTION, NOT JUST DEFIICITSCITS

The economy, taxes, spending, health care, and bailouts dominate the head-

lines and Tea Party rallies this year. But just beneath the surface, another issue is help-ing shape the midterm elections: abortion.The Tea Party insur-gency catapulting anti-bailout, anti-Obamacare, and anti-tax hike Republican outsiders past their establishment-backed primary rivals is also helping to eliminate pro-choice Republicans. Meanwhile, on the Democratic side, the pro-choice money is fl owing in.

Lisa Murkowski, Mike Castle, Charlie Crist and Arlen Specter are the four highest-profi le victims of the Tea Party insurgency. All four were pro-choice, with particularly contentious records on abortion. All four lost to staunch pro-lifers.

Murkowski might have been done in by abor-tion. Driving much of the turnout on primary day in Alaska was a ballot initiative requir-ing parental notifi cation before an abortion. Murkowski endorsed the initiative, but her opponent Joe Miller was loudly and fi rmly pro-life, while Murkowski’s abortion record is mixed, including Senate votes declaring that Roe v. Wade was rightly decided.

Crist also has a mixed record on abortion. He described himself as pro-choice until his Senate bid, and conservatives, including Marco Rubio, questioned his newfound pro-life views. Since Crist left the GOP, he’s dropped the pretense, even veto-ing a bill requiring ultrasound tests before abortions.

Castle’s stunning loss to Christine O’Donnell in Delaware was mostly about economic issues, including Castle’s 2008 vote for the Wall Street bailout and general disdain for the Washington establishment. But Castle was also vocally pro-choice. While he voted for the bill banning partial-birth abortion, he fi rst backed an amendment that would have gutted the ban with an open-ended “health” exception. Pro-life groups called this a “sham ban.”

And while Specter wasn’t actually defeated by a Tea Party candidate, movement activist Sen. Jim DeMint helped set in motion Specter’s demise and the nomination of pro-life conservative Pat Toomey. Specter switched parties in April 2009, after a poll showed him badly losing his Republican primary to Toomey, who was endorsed by DeMint. Specter then lost his Democratic primary.

While Toomey hasn’t always been a pro-lifer, abortion drove much of the pro-Toomey

p a s s i o n in his 2004 challenge to Specter. Back then, Specter was in line to head the Senate Judiciary Commit- tee, in charge of confi rming

Supreme Court nominees. But conserva-tives remembered that Specter, staunchly pro-choice, had sunk the high-court nomination of Robert Bork, citing fears that Bork would overturn Roe v. Wade. Spec-ter later called Roe, a famously muddled ruling, “inviolate.”

In 2010, abortion certain-ly isn’t the driving factor

behind Tea Parties, but the Tea Party’s Senate lineup is 100 percent

pro-life. Every insurgent GOP Senate can-didate who bucked the establishment to win the nomination -- Miller, Rubio, O’Donnell, Toomey, Ken Buck in Colorado, Sharron Angle in Nevada, and Mike Lee in Utah -- is dedicated to the pro-life cause. The Senate ringleader of this rowdy bunch is DeMint, a passionate pro-life conservative. The only establishment pick to survive the Tea Party surge this fall was Kelly Ayotte in New Hamphire, whose name was on that state’s lawsuit attempting to undo some Supreme Court precedent protecting abortion.

On the Democratic side, abortion plays a different role, not providing votes and energy but giving a big boost to fundraising.In August, the pro-choice PAC Emily’s List raised $430,000 for its special independent-expenditure PAC, with 80 percent of that money coming from four donors. Accord-ing to data from the Center for Responsive Politics, pro-choice groups including Emily’s List have given $2.2 million to candidates so far in this election cycle. The $1.4 million that Emily’s List has given to candidates in this cycle is more than twice the total from the National Rifl e Association.

The Tea Party’s issues have some fairly obvious overlaps with the pro-life cause -- for instance, Obamacare’s subsidization of abortion -- but mostly taxes and defi cits seem unrelated to unborn babies, making it tough to explain why Tea Partiers and pro-lif-ers are so closely aligned.

But on Capitol Hill, the divide between fi s-cally conservative and socially conservative is a theoretical one. Almost without fail, the strongest advocates of limited government in Congress are pro-life, and vice-versa. Think of DeMint and Tom Coburn in the Senate and Ron Paul and Jeff Flake in the House -- they top the scorecards of the National Taxpayers’ Union and also have perfect scores from National Right to Life.

Anger about bailouts and Obamacare and concern about defi cits have powered this year’s conservative surge, but below the surface is also anger about abortion and concern for unborn babies.

In 2010, abortion certainly isn’t the driving fac-tor behind Tea Parties, but the Tea Party’s Senate

lineup is 100 percent pro-life.

The leadership must embrace the New Wineskin because God is a God of order

1. Zerubbabel was the Governor of Judah and Joshua was the high priest: This rep-resents God’s established authority. 1 Peter 5:1-3

2. The Apostles and Prophets are founda-tional Eph 2:20 Trusting leadership to hear God’s voice can be scary at times especially when there is a lot of change. Remember a New Wineskin is a radical change in both how we do things and in how we think.

3. God’s will is the same for everyone. Here it is “Work; for I am with you.”

Reducing “Senior Moments”Four Tools to Fight Age-Related

Cognitive Decline

It happens to all of us. We forget

the name of an acquaintance, can’t think of the word we are trying to use or forget where we’ve

parked our car. We laughingly refer to these episodes

as “senior moments” but sometimes they are not really so funny. Age-related cognitive decline is the weakening of mental skills such as long-term or short-term memory, concentration, reasoning, problem solving and thinking & processing speed.

In recent years, the fi eld of brain science has exploded. The long-held belief that in adults, brain development and new brain cell growth was not possible has thankfully been discounted. Scientists now believe that, not only is brain develop-ment in adults possible, but that there are lifestyle changes that can help stave off age-related cognitive decline and actually improve brain functioning in healthy adults. Both healthy adults and those who may be suffering from more serious cognitive weaknesses caused by medical conditions or injuries that affect brain functioning can experience signifi cant mental gains with targeted, formal activities designed specifi -cally to build mental skills.

The Mayo Clinic website states that life-style changes may reduce your risk of de-veloping mild cognitive impairment which, on the continuum falls between the mental decline of normal aging and the more serious Alzheimer’s Disease. People who have higher levels of social, mental and physical activity seem to have less risk of mild cognitive impairment and dementia. The Alzheimer’s Association points out that there are both factors that you cannot control, such as aging and genetics when it comes to staving off dementia, but there are several factors that are under your control. By adopting the Maintain Your Brain® life habits you very well could delay or prevent the appearance of cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease.

Lifestyle habits shown to make a difference include:• Mental Activity – Keep your brain active every day. Mental activity such as working crossword puzzles, taking adult education classes, learning a new lan-guage, attending lectures, concerts and

plays or even learning to dance can keep brain cells healthy and viable and promote the growth of new brain cells at any age. Formal cognitive brain training has been shown to improve memory in older adults. Adults who engaged in brain training exer-cises were able to turn back their “memory clock” between 10 and 25 years after several weeks of daily training. • Physical Activity – Physical activity is essential in maintaining good blood fl ow to the brain which has been found to re-duce brain cell loss in elderly subjects and can promote the growth of new brain cells. Exercise doesn’t have to be strenuous, just done regularly and in conjunction with the other healthy lifestyle recommendations. Walking, bicycling, gardening, tai chi, yoga and other activities of about 30 minutes daily get the body moving and the heart pumping. • Social Activity- Research shows that people who regularly engage in social activity maintain their brain vitality. Join-ing a bridge club, card club or other social club, volunteering in community groups, staying active in the workplace or traveling are all good ways of staying socially con-nected to others and creating new relation-ships. • Adopt a Brain Healthy Diet – A Brain healthy diet is one that reduces the risk of heart disease and diabetes, maintains healthy blood fl ow to the brain and is low is saturated fat and cholesterol. Maintaining a healthy body weight is im-portant so eat in moderation. HDL (good) cholesterol may have a protective effect on brain cells so use unsaturated fats such as olive oil. Fish which are high in Omega-3 fatty acids, dark skinned vegetables which are high in antioxidants and nuts such as almonds, pecans and walnuts are also good protective choices.

Individually, these lifestyle changes are important for maintaining brain health, how-ever, the combination of the four together is most effective. With advances in medi-cine allowing people to live longer lives, really focusing on making these changes can promote a fuller, healthier and more mentally fi t life, making the “golden years” truly valuable.

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism,

as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House.But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The questing before the House is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, I consider it

as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfi ll the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not [Jer. 5:21], the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it. I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House.

Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received? Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss [Matt. 26:48]. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fl eets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort. I ask

gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the ministry and Parliament. Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot of the throne! In vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation. There is no longer any room for hope.

If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable--and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace-- but there is no peace [Jer. 6:14]. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! What do you do when someone mistreats you? I didn’t ask what you want

to do. I didn’t ask what your automatic fl eshly reaction is. I already know that. Your natural, knee-jerk response is the same as mine. You want to strike back. You want to do something or say something that willeven the score. If you can’t manage that, you might settle for a few hours (or days or years) of feeling sorry for yourself. You might try to ease your wounded feelings by telling someone how wrongly you’ve been treated.

On a purely natural, human level that’s how we all want to react when someone does us wrong.

But I want to tell you something today. If you’re a born-again child of the living God, you have no business just reacting to things on a natural, human level.

God has called and equipped you to live on a higher level. He’s given you the power to respond in a supernatural way when someone does you wrong. He’s given you the power to respond inlove.

If you will train yourself to respond God’s way, you can take mistreatment and transform it from the curse the devil intends it to be into a seed of tremendous blessing in your life.

When you learn to obey God in the face of persecution, you can literally get rich - in the areas of fi nances, favor and opportunity - off the very persecution the devil sent to keep you down.

Serious BusinessMake no mistake, that is the devil’s intention. He sends people across your path to offend you and mistreat you for the express purpose of stealing the Word of God - and the anointing that goes with it - out of your life. Mark 4:17 says, “persecution arises for the word’s sake.” The devil knows how powerful you are when you are anointed. He knows because he once was anointed himself. The Bible says before evil was found in him, he was the “anointed cherub.” So it is his one ambition to trick you into cutting

yourself off from that anointing.

That’s why he sends bigots to insult you and thieves to steal from you. That’s why, whenever he can, he goads people around

you into being insensitive and unappreciative. He wants you to get offended and cut off your supernatural power supply.

Most believers don’t realize it, but that’s what offenses do. You can see that in Matthew 11:4-6.There, the disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus and asked if He was truly the Anointed One. Jesus answered and said to them: “Go

and show John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessedis he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.”

We need to realize, my friend, that offenses are serious business. They are sent by the devil to rob us of the anointing and block the fl ow of the blessings of God. That fact alone

should beenough to make us decide never, ever, to be offended again.

I know I’ve made that decision. I’ve determined that no matter how someone may insult myintelligence, my beliefs, or even my race, I’m not willing to lose my anointing over it.

No matter how they treat me, or what they might call me, I will not take offense.Now I realize someone may be reading this and thinking, “Yeah, that’s easy for you to say! Nobody says and does the things to you like they do to me!”

That may be true. Although I am an Indian, and have had ample opportunity for offense, where race is concerned, I know there are many people who have suffered much more mistreatment than I have. But I can say this: No matter what color you are, you are welcome in more churches than I am. I’ve had entire books written for the express purpose of criticizing me. How many books have they written about you?

I only bring those things to your attention because I want you to know that dealing with offenses isn’t any easier for me than it is for anyone else. I’ve come up against some hard people and some hard situations in my life. So I know if God can see me through, He

can do the same foryou.

Once we decide we will take a devil-sent opportunity for offense and turn it into a harvest of blessing, the fi rst thing we need to know is what God wants us to do in that situation. If we’re not supposed to strike back, if we’re not supposed to get our feelings hurt and go off in a huff, what are we supposed to do?

First Peter 4 answers that question: “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fi ery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, in as much as yeare partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God rest upon you” (vv. 12-14).God doesn’t want us to cry and complain when someone does us wrong. He doesn’t want us tosue them. He wants us to rejoice!I can just hear your old fl esh groan: “Man, you have to be kidding! I’m supposed to rejoice when someone does me wrong? What do I have to rejoice about?” Plenty!

you up for blessing. It opens you up for great rewards!

Jesus made that very clear in Luke 6. He said, “Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out yourname as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven” (vv. 22-23).

To get the full meaning of what Jesus was saying there, you have to realize what the word blessed means. It’s not just a weak, religious sentiment. To be God-blessed means you’re empowered by Almighty God Himself to prosper and succeed. It means you’re empowered by the Holy Spirit to be exceedingly happy with life and joy in spite of any outside circumstances.

When people mistreat you, they’re actually giving you the opportunity to receive greater measures of power and success from the Spirit of God. They are opening the door for you tostep up to a higher plane of heavenly reward!

“Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up” (1 Peter 5:8-9a, The Message).

Ever been mugged? I hope not. Praise the Lord, I haven’t. Hmmm…or have I?

What exactly does “mug” mean? The dictionary defi nes it as to assault, menace or threaten a person with the intent to rob. In the Old Testament, God told His people not to consort with those enemies surrounding them (you know, all the -ites – the Amalekites, the Canaanites, the Amorites, and the others) because of their unholy ways. God sepa-rated His people to keep them holy. He knew that, if they mingled with the -ites, their holiness would be stolen. As insatiable suitors, enemy -ites always prowl around in the back alleys of temptation, lurking under the shroud of seduction. Just waiting to jump out and mug us! Peter warns us of The Enemy -ite, “Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up.” (1 Peter 5:8-9a Message)

What did the disciple John say was the enemy’s purpose? “The thief’s purpose is to steal, kill and destroy.” (John 10:10 TLB)

So, what areas of our lives does the enemy target? Our:* joy * peace* health * comfort* fi nances * holiness?What are those sticky-fi ngered muggers, those spiritual pickpockets, that the enemy uses to assault us, menace us, and rob us?

How about doubt, worry, unbelief, strife, unforgiveness, bit-terness, cheating, stealing, depression, murmuring, jealou-sy/envy, complaining, rebellion, hypocrisy, bitterness, lying, lust, pride, judging, gossip, addictions, marital affairs, porn, other impure thoughts, negative attitude, speaking against others, busy schedules, or anything else that grieves the Holy Spirit?

Any one of these -ites can be hazardous to the health of our bodies and our spirits. Guarding our hearts is so vital, in all we see, hear, and do.

So, what are the -ites, the petty thieves that entice you, desiring to invade your heart’s home and snatch away your treasures? Does their wooing prompt you to pack your bag of temptation, sneak out the window of your room of sepa-ration, climb down the ladder of immorality, and run off with these vendors of swill?

Unless a “No Solicitors” sign is posted, a heart that does not fully pursue God will be enticed by outsiders selling their wares and will run off with any swindler. Remember, where you are on Saturday night represents who and what you say you are on Sunday morning! What you do and who you are with will either draw you toward God or draw you away from Him.

Let me encourage you to hang onto what you have gained

spiritually. Guard those treasures with all your might and all your faith, as Solomon said, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (Proverbs 4:23 NLT).

Question: What picks your spiritual pockets?

Father, I am looking to you to give me some direc-tion and wisdom on where my weakness’ are. I am asking you to show me the areas where I am weak and that need to be strengthened with your word. I am asking you to help me guard my heart so the course of my life glorifi es you. So the things of this world do not have the power to steal my joy and happiness my peace my money. also of the Tax Foundation, took it a step further. “Saying President Obama is pressing for the largest tax increase in history is highly misleading,” he said.“There are only two real options,” said Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. “Extend the cuts for everyone, or allow the tax cut to ex-pire for those making more than $200,000.” And if either of those comes to pass, then a tax increase won’t be the worst since World War II.

Experts say that even if the worst happened and all the tax breaks expired, the arbiter of tax history -- Jerry Tempalski, an economist at the Treasury Department whose work has been the basis of all the historical tax claims -- wouldn’t recognize it as a record. That, they said, is because it technically wouldn’t be a tax increase -- the result of a direct congressional action. It would simply be the expiration of an existing program, they said. The Treasury Department declined a request for an interview with Tempalski.

Steve Ellis, of Taxpayers for Common Sense, says that the battle over whether it would be the largest tax hike in history obscures the real issues.

“Debating it in the aggregate doesn’t accom-plish much,” he said. “The real debate should be over whether all the pieces make fi scal sense.”

He said legislative gridlock would prob-ably spark the largest tax increase since the 1940s.

“This will represent 2 percent of GDP, and the only comparable one since the war would be the Reagan tax hikes, which amounted to 1.6 percent of GDP,” he said.

The problem -- or the solution, experts say -- is that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans in Congress want all the Bush tax cuts to expire. The Obama administra-tion wants to renew all the cuts except those for individuals who make more than $200,000, or families that make more than $250,000 annually. That would mean a tax increase of $7 billion -- but it wouldn’t be one for the record books.

And Republicans, who are in the minority in both the Senate and the House, want to extend the tax cuts across the board. So while the political gap is a bitter one, most analysts feel it isn’t too wide to be closed.

Thorndyke also warns that if you consider an expiring temporary tax cut to be a tax increase, it “means that there will be no more temporary tax cuts. All tax cuts will be permanent, and I don’t think even Republi-cans want that.”

Looking at the previous price appreciation

in the last gold and silver bull market, I think both metals have a long, long way to go. Here are some other things you may not know ...

#1) Central Banks Are Buying Even More Gold. We’ve known that central banks have been buying gold for some time. Now the shift in the role of Central Banks has been confi rmed by GFMS, a London-based consultancy that tracks the gold market.

GFMS says that thanks to buying by Russian and several Asian central banks, central banks would be net buyers of gold by about 15 metric tons of bullion this year. The last time that happened was 1988.

#2) Gold Is Nowhere Near Its All-Time Peak Price in Real Terms. In January 1980, the yellow metal reached $873 an ounce. Last week saw gold close at a new record of $1,277.50 an ounce, and adjusted for infl ation, it was still under $460 in 1980 dollars.

I joined the Army National Guard just over 2 years ago. I got up one morning after going through a divorce and didn’t recog-nize the person

that I saw looking back at me in the mirror, nor did I like her all that much anymore.

I had let the relation-ship and the demise of the relationship dictate my actions and me as a person. I needed to make a change and had always wanted to join the Army but was to afraid I guess.

I joined the Army at 35 years old and when I tested to get into the Army I told them that the only way I would go is if I could be a Medic.

Clearly, I tested high enough and went to Basic Training then to AIT and became a Combat Medic.

I would say that during Basic Training I prayed every night as well as kicked myself for even thinking that I could do it..then every morning I would get out of bed and do it all over again.

It was the most challenging and rewarding thing that I have ever done. I realized that know matter how hard you push yourself mentally or physically..your body will just fol-low and do what needs to be done.

The amazing thing was that in the time of Basic and AIT I learned a valuable lesson.. I learned to love myself as a person for the fi rst time in a long, long time.

I was home for approximately 6 months and got orders to deploy to Iraq. I was scared to death when I fi rst found out that I was getting orders to deploy..but it was weird..I wasn’t scared at all for myself. I was afraid for my daughter...

I was afraid that there was a possibility that she would have to grow up without me. My son is grown and in college and kind of on with his life..and while I was concerned for him having to live his life without me..it was my daughter that really hurt.

I knew what I signed up for and I know how important my freedom and this country is to me. I knew I would eventually deploy..I just didn’t really expect it to be that quick.

We trained over a few months and then left for Kuwait. In Kuwait we spent about 10 days getting used to the heat. At fi rst it was almost unbearable..but you honestly just get used to it. The day that my platoon left to go into Iraq it was like every-thing was happening so quickly.

That day I prayed a lot..I wanted to make sure that I was okay with everything in my life. That evening we were taken out to a

runway and waited for the Chanook Chop-pers to come in. None of us spoke that much I don’t think...I don’t remember being at all nervous. I do, however, remember when we took off and fl ew into Iraq it was honestly one of the most peaceful and serene moments of my life.

It was a 20 minute fl ight into Camp Bucca in Southern Iraq...and it was incredible! My platoon was tasked with running the TMC (Troop Medical Clinic). We took care of military, coalition forces, and some third country nationals. It was a very small clinic with 2 trauma beds.

There were things that happened and that I saw that most people can’t comprehend or would even want to know about nor do I have any desire to talk about.

The base that I was on had not been bombed in almost 2 years and they started bombing it in March. I guess it never re-ally bothered me as it was happening, but afterward when I tried processing what had just happened it made me realize just how short life can be.

There are things that I still think about, but I feel like we did a lot of good and did our jobs as we were trained. For the most part it was a very gratifying experience. There are days that I hated every minute of it...but other days that there wasn’t any other place in the world I would have rather been. I am thankful to be home..and again there are days that I would give anything to go back.

OBAMA OBAMA SCALES SCALES BACK BACK rally in Maryland Thursday, when he refer-enced the Chamber of Commerce, saying it was paying for ads against Democrats while taking money from “foreign corporations.” “So groups that receive foreign money are spending huge sums to infl uence American elections, and they won’t tell you where the money for their ads come from,” Obama said.

Then Obama twice mentioned GOP strate-gist Karl Rove by name at an Illinois rally, saying “two groups funded and advised by Karl Rove have outspent the Democratic Party 2 to1 in an attempt to beat” Democrat-ic Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias.

Then the Democratic National Committee rolled out the new ad accusing Rove, former Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie and the Chamber of Commerce of “stealing our democracy.” The ad accused them of “spending millions from secret donors to elect Republicans to do their bidding in Congress.”

The accusations drew a sharp rebuke from Rove, a Fox News contributor. “Have these people no shame? Does the president of the United States have such little regard for the offi ce that he holds that he goes out there and makes these kind of baseless charges against his political enemies?” Rove said on “Fox News Sunday October 10th 2010.” “This is just beyond the pale. How dare the president do this.” Rove and Gillespie helped found the political group American Crossroads; Rove also helped found Cross-roads GPS.

But Rove said those groups raise money legally, that it’s “inaccurate” to say he’s personally writing out checks to the groups and that American Crossroads reports its donors. In a heated retort, Rove said Sunday that the DNC ad effectively ac-cused them all of a criminal violation of U.S. law -- only without proof.

“They have not one shred of evidence to back up that baseless lie. This is a desperate and I think disturbing trend by the president of the United States to tar his political adversaries with some kind of, you know, enemies list unrestrained by any facts or evidence whatsoever,” Rove said.

The Chamber of Commerce accusation ap-parently stemmed from a report last week by the Center for American Progress-affi liated Think Progress. The report claimed the Chamber was generating hundreds of thou-sands of dollars in foreign money every year and questioned whether those funds were going toward its multimillion-dollar political operations.

But the Chamber adamantly denies this, say-ing foreign money is separated from its U.S. political activity. The Chamber said in a statement Sunday that the DNC ad is “ridiculous and false.” Rove also said the White House cannot back up its accusation.

Asked about the charge, Axelrod put the onus on groups like the Chamber of Commerce to prove foreign money is not in-fl uencing the election. “No one knows where the money’s coming from,” he said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “Why not simply disclose where this money is from and then all these questions will be answered?” But Gillespie said the idea that the White House could lob charges and then leave it up to the accused to refute them is an “unbelievable mentality.” “David Axelrod is either woefully uninformed or willfully decep-tive and dishonest,” Gillespie said.

He said Obama was basing his original charge off a report from a group, the Center for American Progress, “that does not dis-close its donors.”

“This is the kind of abuse of power in a lot of ways ... that most Americans are rejecting,” Gillespie said.

So, I think gold could easily go to $1,400 next year and $1,600 the year after that. But it may go higher yet, to its infl ation-adjusted peak of $2,435 and beyond.

By participating in a recent pulpit initiative, pastors across the nation are beg-

ging the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to take them to court.

Nearly 100 pastors, backed by the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF), participated in “Pulpit Freedom Sunday” September 26 and chal-lenged the IRS by speaking about politics in church. David Barton, founder and president of Wall-Builders, believes it is necessary for outspoken pastors to speak out in order to prove that the IRS is prohibiting their First Amend-ment rights. (See related story)

“The IRS regulation, which was added in the 1950s and 1960s, is probably blatantly unconstitutional on its face, but we’ll never be able to prove that if we don’t have an

instance whereby to take them into court and have it really adjudicated,” Barton explains.

He says the list of pastors who respond to the call grows every year -- and includes one Iowa pastor who has essentially challenged the IRS to sue him. Barton likes the trend he is seeing.

“For the last three years, we have clearly had dozens and dozens...of pastors intentionally step across the line and...turn themselves into the IRS and say, ‘Ok -- we’ve stepped across your line; come after us,’” the Wall-Builders founder shares. “The IRS has refused to do that for three years, and that pretty much validates what we knew -- that this restriction is blatantly unconstitutional.”

Barton points out that the church used to be the news source for the public during the days of the Founding Fathers, but the regula-tion brought on by the IRS has had a major role in changing that.

Many questions are raised by defenders of evolution when presented with

the evidence for creation. Of a particular interest is evidence for the worldwide fl ood which is documented in the Bible and by numerous other historical, anthropological, and cultural sources. This article addresses some of the common questions.How did marsupials get to Australia?Noah was charged with building the vessel to safeguard certain animals during this massive and complex worldwide disaster; not with distributing them afterwards. Once Noah released the animals on Mount Ararat, natural instincts and climatic conditions determined how the redistribution of the animal population took place. As subsequent generations of animals spread across the globe, territorial prowess or chance movements would send certain groups in certain directions. Those animals least suited for or least able to defend a territory would either be forced further from the landing site or face extermination. An immediate consequence of the worldwide fl ood was a brief but severe ice age which locked ocean water into vast ice fi elds. This lowered ocean levels and created a land bridge to Australia. A similar land bridge connected Asia to Alaska during this period of Earth history allowing free movement of man and animals between these continents. Land movements during the ice age or subsequent melting of the ice cut off the connection between Australia and Asia effectively isolating the unique animal life to Australia.How could massive worldwide coal deposits form rapidly?The fi rst effect of the worldwide fl ood would have been the ripping up of vegetation worldwide and erosion on an unimaginable scale.As the water receded from one area, vegetation would have been deposited only to be subsequently buried as the area sank and water brought in more sediment. This, layer upon layer of coal would be formed. Furthermore, it has been shown in the laboratory that vegetation can be turned into coal

in as little as 1 hour with suffi cient heat and pressure. A recent model of coal formation is provided by a study of the catastrophic explosion of Mount St. Helens in 1980. This explosion knocked down millions of trees which ended up fl oating on Spirit Lake. Underneath this layer of peat consisting of tree bark and organic matter. If that organic matter were buried by a subsequent eruption, the result would be a coal seam covered by sedimentary rock. Repeated cycles would rapidly produce a series of coal seams with sediment on top of each seam. This small scale model shows that it is reasonable to believe that an enormous fl ood would rapidly create the worldwide coal seams which we fi nd today.Is “Survival of the Fittest” part of the evolution?Modern evolutionists have tried to distance themselves from this concept due to the obvious negative consequences of the social realm. Denying that survival of the fi ttest is part of the evolutionary process is akin to denying that one type of animal will drive another to extinction given the right conditions. Contrary to the rosy picture of animal co-operation which evolutionists like to portray, one type of animal has no qualms wiping out another in its quest to propagate itself. Survival of the fi ttest has always been an integral part of the evolutionary theory. Wild dogs introduced to Australia are endangering native species because they are more aggressive and have no natural enemies.Sounds like “survival of the fi ttest” doesn’t it? If we are also animals who have evolved according to this basic principle of evolution, why shouldn’t we extend this principle into the social realm? Why shouldn’t we eliminate weaker classes of humans which are competing for what we feel we need? Evolution taken to its logical conclusion leads to a savage world akin to Hitler’s Nazi Germany when the strong determine what is right. It was no coincidence that Hitler was strongly infl uenced by the writings of Darwin.Does it make any logical sense that this method of death and destruction would be a loving God’s method for making us???
