Kwinana Bulk Terminal

Fremantle Ports acquired the Kwinana Bulk Terminal in 2002 and operates Kwinana Bulk Berth 2 at this facility.

The Kwinana Bulk Terminal can facilitate ships loading and unloading bulk products such as cement clinker, mineral sands, silica sands, coal, iron ore, bauxite, gypsum, nut coke, slag and various other commodities. Products are stockpiled in the open or some cases in sheds.

The Kwinana Bulk Terminal Jetty is 498 metres in length with a berth length of 268 metres and has a design depth alongside of 12.19 metres.

The berth has two unloaders.The maximum grab discharge rate for unloader No.4 is 400 tonnes per hour, and for unloader No.5, 1200 tonnes per hour. The conveying system has a maximum loading rate of 1,500 tonnes per hour.

# The Port of Fremantle operates a Dynamic Under Keel Clearance (DUKC) program which nominates specific under keel criteria for applicable vessels. Enquiries should be directed to the Harbour Master’s office to confirm maximum drafts for any given time.
