Master of Business LawYou will learn…The Friends University Master of Business Law degree program provides the knowledge and skills to identify and address legal and ethical issues in any work environment. The degree curriculum provides theoretical and practical knowledge to develop an understanding of and ability to analyze a wide range of legal problems. It focuses on current legal issues in today’s business world and is designed for non-lawyers. You will gain knowledge of specific legal subjects, such as contracts and employment law, and an understanding of our federal, state and local laws and legal systems and how they impact any business environment. The Friends University Master of Business Law program is the only master’s level legal education program in Kansas.

With this degree, you can…The MBL degree can enhance your professional skills and value in any career. Business law touches most every aspect of business and governmental daily affairs, including contractual dealings, hiring practices, and the manufacture and sale of consumer goods. Graduates are prepared to assume a wide range of responsibilities involving legal issues, and the degree is valuable in private, corporate, not-for-profit, governmental and international sectors. You will improve your skills by… You will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, which are typically only available to students who incur the time and expense to attend a three-year, full-time juris doctorate program. Through the Master of Business Law program, you will also learn the research skills necessary to find, interpret and comply with laws and regulations that impact business and government operations. As part of a final project you will apply the knowledge and research skills you have learned, including a federal regulatory scheme, to a specific business chosen by you.

FAQWhere is the Master of Business Law offered?

We offer adult-focused master’s degrees in Wichita, Topeka, greater Kansas City area and online. Not all courses and programs are available in all locations or in both online and on-campus formats. Please check with your Admissions Counselor for more details.

How many credit hours will it take to complete the degree?

Each three-credit course is offered in an eight-week session. On-campus courses meet one night a week. The Master of Business Law degree requires 36 credit hours.

Is the degree accredited?Yes. All Friends University undergraduate and graduate degrees are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.

Will I be required to take a Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)?

No. Neither test is required for entrance into graduate programs at Friends University. All graduate programs require a pre-admissions interview with the program director.
