EFFEcTIVE USAGE OF WATER
Preface
This newspaper is the result of the activities, work and ideas of our task: ”How to use water in a more effective way”.It was published by Hungary, Ráckevei Árpád Fejedelem Primary School with the material of Turkish, Spanish, Italian, German, Hungarian and Swiss schools who participate in this Multilateral Comenius Project: „ The Effect of Water on Human Beings”.As we all know that the water ecological balance is under an increasing threatening by human mankind because of unconscious, extravagant use of water at home, at agriculture and at industry. With this newspaper we aim to raise awareness of our pupils and local people to use water more consciously.
They must realize the importance of having positive attitude to this problem and having interest about using water resources more efficiantly, in order not to have water shortage in the earth and not to live without water in the future. It is also our task to make pupils, as future citizens contribute in avoiding wasting water and get benefit from it for their health and daily life.As you dear reader will see all the partner schools have tremendous motivation to draw attention to try to solve this big problem of our mankind.

The effective way of using water
The Boat mill of Ráckeve
Our city has been an important place for water mills since the 17th century, as milling was the most important industry in Ráckeve. In 1720 there were already 5 boat mills on the river Danube. The last boat mill in Hungary was found in Ráckeve. This mill unfortunately sank during the hard winter of 1968, when the ice broke the boat’ wheel and took the houseboat and mill down with it. In 2006 the Municipal Board of Ráckeve initiated the idea of reconstructing it.„It was and again can be our symbol.
The mill’s rebuilding was based on written records, photos and drawings. The aim was to recreate the once lively milling traditions that existed along the Danube. The project was developed wander through and see how all the machinery works. The grinding process is powered by an electric motor. The main sponsor of the boat mill project was and to this day is the local Rackeve Government board. Great co-operation amongst the locals created the boat-mill. Enterpreneurs, traders, industrialists and residents were all in on building the Boat Mill.
From one of its sister cities; Gyergyócsomafalva Transylvania , Ráckeve received raw materials such as wood. And finally a big thanks to the Chatolic and Reformed Church of Ráckeve for their outstanding ongoing support of the project!
So you can find Hungary’s first reconstructed and fully functioning boat mill in Ráckeve. You can observe the process of grinding grain once a week during scheduled demonstrations.

Report on the activities related to the issue of efficient and eco-friendly use
of water resources.
The path related to the agreed theme took over the previously carried out activities of the partnership. For activities , our school collaborated with an association of consumer protection Pupils were led to discover the value of water for life and develop the awareness that water wich can be used by men ( fresh water) is only a small amount compared to that present on the planet , which is, for the most part, salt water or in form of ice. Children noticed the difference between fresh water and drinking water and water purification processes that make it potable. Pupils have pondered about the problems of environmental pollution and contamination of water resources.
They were involved in the search for common use products with low environmental impact and thought about direct and indirect water requirements of every consumer and how you can limit the use and save water. They discovered that each of us can help preserving this precious resource by changing habits and becoming conscious consumers.
Here some tips and suggestion to use water in amore efficient way in every day life:• turn off the tap when not in use• do not run the water while brush your teeth,
soap your hands or do shampoo: use running water only to rinse out.
• use the dishwasher and washing only full loads• if you do not have a dishwasher , use tap water
only to rinse• take a shower instead of a bath
• two children can bathe together in the tub• use the water in the bathtub to wash the floor or
when you use the toilet• put in taps a small holes in jet-• reduce the jet flushing in the toilet with a
discharge with different buttons or put a plastic bottle filled with water to reduce water consumption
• wash fruits and vegetables in a bowl rather than under running water , then use it to water the plants
• uses water from cooking vegetables to water the plants : the mineral salts contained will serve as fertilizer
• collect rainwater and use it for watering plants• use cooking pasta water to wash your dishes , the
starch content in this water removes grease and saves detergent
• use ecological detergents and in small quantities• when you wash your car use water from a
bucket, instead of using the tube.

WATER POLLUTION
Lastly, the pollution of water is affecting seas and the rivers and above all, a variety of water animals. This may be due: the oil ships leaks and spots the sea. In addition the pipes going into nuclear break and the toxic waste pollutes the oceans. The people throw the filth, glass, plastic to the sea. The sea tortoises think that plastic bags are jelly fish and when they eat them they drown. There are radioactive fish and they are increasing more and more. In the north Pole the polar bears are going out of their habitat because of the pollution and the global warming. We have to take better care of the water resources and worry about the animals and the environment
The water problems We are writing about the water because is very important for life.
1. The water is drinking and non drinking, the non drinking water is bad.
2.The tsunami is a big problem because it smashes houses and buildings, animals and people die.
3.The contamination is a big a problem because the water is dirty and the animals die.

COMENIUS WATER!
We want to write about water because is very important for animals, humans and plants ... Humans pollute the water and die because our beings.
DO NOT CONTAMINATE
1.When we brush teeth the water is closed. 2.Do not play with water
3 .Do not contaminate 4. Do not use water when not needed.
GERMANY
Excursion in the Brewery Thannhausen
On January 29, 2014, the Comenius group from Jettingen Germany went by bus to the close by brewery Tannhausen. The Brauhaus Thannhausen is a brewery with a great history. More than 500 years, local beer is made in the small village Thannhausen, which lies in the triangle between Augsburg and Günzburg Krumbach. Today, the beers of the traditional brands "Postbräu" and "mint" are brewed. In addition, the Thannhausen King Ludwig Castle Kaltenberg produces the products which are sold under the name of "Thannhäuser" Soft drinks including mineral water that comes from its own, 200 meters deep mountain source.
The brewer warmly welcomed the Comenius group at the brewery, and led them through the brew house, boiler house, the fermenting room, the storage cellar, the filter cellar to the bottling, actually to all those stations which are necessary for the beer production. He explained that the whole brewing process starts with the crushing of the quality roasted malt. Crushed malt is mixed with water and pumped into the mash tub. There dissolve at different temperatures (45-76 °) due to the enzymatic processes starch and proteins from the cells of malt grain. The end product of mashing is fermentable malt sugars, of which later in the fermentation alcohol and CO2 is formed.
In Lautertun the husks of cereal grains are separated from the mash by means of a sieve-like bottom. They remain at the bottom of the tub and become later fodder. But the draining clear fluid is pumped into the Spice pan and marketed for cooking. During the approximately 60-minute cooking process different hops gifts are made (ie, different quality varieties and quantities according to the particular type of beer). By boiling the liquid is sterilized, on the other hand, the protein is precipitated. The excess from the washing out of the lautering water is evaporated. So the wort for each brew is fixed. After boiling, the wort in the so-called hot tub is initiated in which the precipitated protein is excreted. Then the wort is cooled.
Then the timely required yeast is added to convert the sugars from the wort into alcohol and carbonic acid in the fermentation tank. Now the green beer several weeks of storage subjected (at 0 to - 1 ° C), before finally the last pending operations: protein particles and yeasts are removed by the filtration of beer. Now it is so far: The final product is bottled and barreled, and is ready for the connoisseurs. In the laboratory of the brewery, the students were allowed to penetrate as well. The chemical laboratory technician of the local brewery examined there, whether the finished products meet the quality standards.
The brewer also explained that back in addition to the economic objectives of the brewery more and more environmental issues to the fore. Until the finished product 20 hectoliters of water were necessary for one hectoliter of beer. Nowadays, one needs only 1.5-2 hectoliters for it. This saving can be achieved, by water recovering water vapor, separating per-treatment and implementing additional measures. Finally, each student was allowed to take a still of the homemade lemonade and enjoy.

EFFECTIVE USAGE OF WATER REPORT
For he Comenius School newspaper students wrote an anticle describing ways people can conserve water and why it is imporrant. Before they had written the article, they made an activity and a survey on their families. In our “ Effective Usage of Water” activity students were told to design to be aware of how much water individuals and families use on a weekly basis. They were given a sample story about water usage, They conduct the survey at home for a full week. They were explained how to fill out the survey and how to make tally Marks each time the activity takes place. After they had completed the survey we could discuss the results .
In this process, they were asked to consider what their families could do to reduce the amount of water they use, How much water would they conserve? If everyone in the class followed that practice, how much water would it save in a year. The results that weekly total water used for a four people family.
• Toilet Flushing : 300 liters• Short Shower (5-10 minutes) : 600 liters of water• Long Shower ( > 10 minutes : 1800 liters of water• Tub Bath :---• Teeth Brushing : 100 Liters• Washing Dishes with Running water : --• Washing Dishes Filling a Basin : --• Using Dishwasher : 300 liters of water• Washing Clothes : 150 liters of water
As a result water consumption is high in the bathroom and toilets then cleaning and less cooking. So we should be careful at homes while using water.
