INAUGURATION OF PMKVY SKILL DEVELOPMENT COURSES
(BATCH-II)
IEC Group of Institution is conducting PMKVY Skill Development Courses well approved by
AICTE, MHRD. Today, Hon’ble Shri Pushyapati Saxena, Retd. IAS. Former Registrar of
Mahamaya Technical University (MTU), and Gautam Buddha University (GBU) Greater Noida,
Gautam Buddha Nagar, Former Secretary-Horticulture has Inaugurated of PMKVY Skill
Development Courses (Batch-II) at IEC Group of Institutions today on 04th February, 2018
(Sunday). He has graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Pragramme was started with welcome of Respected Shri Pushyapati Saxena by Dr Bhanu P. S.
Sagar, Prof. Sunil Kumar, and Dean (Academics). Then formal Inaugural / Welcome address
was given by Dr Bhanu P. S. Sagar. He has talked about the bitter fact that more than 90%
workforce in Korea, more than 65 % workforce in Germany and more than 40 % workforce in
Japan is vocationally qualified whereas India has only 5-7% of its workforce vocationally trained
or qualified. So, Vocational education is gaining tremendous importance in India in recent years.
In India, skill acquisition takes place through two basic structural streams – a small formal one
and a large informal one. Most skills obtained by workers are through an informal training
system such as family inheritance or “guru-shishya parampara”. Only about 2.5 million
vocational training seats are available in the India whereas 12.8 million persons enter the labor
market each year.
Now, the Central and the State Governments are emphasizing on building skilled human
resources. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the
Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). MSDE has been created with the
ambitious objective of creating 500 million skilled resources in the next 5 years. Duration of the
training varies per job role, ranging between 150 and 300 hours. Upon successful completion of
their assessment, candidates shall be provided placement assistance by Training Institute /
Partners (TI / TPs). IEC School of Vocational Studies (IEC-SVS) with mission and philosophy
to impart vocational education and training and provides students with an opportunity to study
vocational courses which comprise of deep integration modules within the industry of
their choice. As a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), IEC-SVS has been established
to impart vocational education and skill training for school dropout candidates / students. IEC
Group of Institution is running Lab Technician / Assistant, CCTV Installation Technician, Filed
Technician: Data Storage and Networking and IT Coordinator in Schools courses under PMKVY
Programme.
Welcome and Inaugural address was followed by Ribbon Cutting Ceremony by Respected Shri
Pushyapati Saxena. During his blessing address Respected Shri Pushyapati Saxena Ji has talked
about the various agencies like All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE, MHRD)
(PMKVY-II), University Grant Commission (B-Voc Courses of UGC), National Institute of
Open Schooling (NIOS Vocational Courses), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC
under Skill Development Ministry, Govt. of India) (PMKVY – I) which are making their best
efforts to make youth population of India – Technically Skilled to compete with the world.
Further he extended his best wishes to all the enrolled students and encouraged them to become
Job Creator / Entrepreneur instead of job seeker.
