We are committed to worshipping God, to proclaiming the life-transforming message of Jesus Christ, to strengthening believers and equipping them for service. We believe that it is God’s desire for all people to be in relationship with Him. However, because of the sin that exists in our lives, we are separated from Him. This separation, left unreconciled, will ultimately lead to an eternal separation in Hell. But God, out of His immense grace and unconditional love, has provided a means of reconciliation to us through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ. To those who will acknowledge their own sinfulness, and accept the sacrifice of Christ made on their behalf, God promises the gift of eternal life. If you have yet to discover the freedom available to you through Jesus Christ, we would love to share this message of life and hope with you. Please contact any member of the leadership team, seated at the front of the Worship Center at the end of the service, and let’s discover new life together. Financial Update

Our next week of hosting families in need from New Pathways is October 2-9th. Please consider volunteering to drive a van, prepare or serve a meal or sleep overnight at the church. Please see the sign-up in the Welcome Center or see Barb Vesely if you have questions or would like to help. Visit www.newpathwaysmn.com for more infor-mation on the program and who we serve.

The new quarterly Our Daily Bread devo-tionals for September -November, are available at no cost to you in the Welcome

Center. Please take one and spend time daily exploring God’s Word.

The school year will soon be upon us and that means AWANA clubs! Please con-sider joining us on Wednesday nights from 5:45-8:00, to help boys and girls learn the truths in God’s Word and His love for them. See Dave or Amy if you are inter-ested. There will be a training on September 9-10th at Camp JIM. All volunteers are encouraged to participate.

All men are encouraged to join a group of men for prayer every Monday morning at 6:30 a.m. Be an Armor Bearer!

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes items are being collected! Please bring your donations to the women’s class-room. The are flyers available on the Welcome Counter to help you know what items can be included in the shoeboxes.

Want to stay connected during the week? Check out our website to keep up to date on events and ministries, listen to messages, send prayer requests or even send your offering. We also have a Facebook page! “Like” us at FBC Pillager to see reminders of upcoming activities and even pictures of past events.

Are you thinking about being baptized? Would you like to officially become a member here at First? There are information and application packets in the far right corner of the ministry mailboxes. Please see a deacon if you have any questions.

Be sure to thank our leadership! Take a moment this week to thank and encourage a leader who has said “yes” to God to serve in a ministry team or leadership position here at First. Much is done behind the scenes to prepare for events and Sunday morning ministry, keep the building ready for service and to reach out to those who need extra encouragement or support. Check on the bulletin board in the Welcome Center for your current leadership or ask Amy G. for a copy of a leadership list.

This Week at First

Welcome Whether you are new to our church or have

been attending all your life, we’re glad you

have joined us today. Our desire is to worship

and celebrate God in a way that is fresh,

relevant and easily applicable through

message, music and media. Our prayer is that

you would experience God in a personal way

and be challenged to grow closer to Him.

If you need a Bible, we would like to provide

one to you as a gift. They can be found under

the seat of the chair in front of you.

Childcare is available just off of the Welcome

Center.

Children’s Ministry

Today is the last for week for our Big Wave Discov-ery! All children, ages 3-5th grade, are invited to join us this morning from

9:30-11:30 to discover the

answers to 13 big questions about

faith. We will have a time of singing, playing games, hearing Bible stories and being creative!

Dare to Trust God! That is the theme and lesson we all will be learning in this year’s family fall fest, Brave Cave! Invite your neighbors and fr iends. It is sure to be a fun evening as we kick off the fall programming. Brave Cave is from 6:15-8:00 on Wednesday, Sep-tember 14th. Come ear- ly for a family meal be-ginning at 5:45.

Our regular Wednesday programming will contin- ue on September 21st. Awana will be available for kids ages 2-5th grade and Adrenaline LIVE will be for kids in grades 6-12th.

Please be in prayer for the pastoral search team as they begin to meet and seek God’s will on this journey. We all need to be praying our future pastor (and family) as God begins to bring us together.

Please pray for the fall ministries and events that are just around the corner. Pray for wisdom as the leadership team seeks God’s plans for how to use our time, energy and resources to reach the community for Jesus. Pray that we would keep focused on our mission of sharing God’s love with the people of Pillager.
