2017 Term 2 Week 4

Dear Parents

The children look forward to this every day. They simply love the opportunity

to show and speak about their favourite toy that they have brought to school.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in this, even our Love 1 children.

Our little ones attempting to talk about their special item!

The Show-N-Tell activity is an integral part of our curriculum and is conducted in both English and Mandarin.

Through this activity, our children will build their confidence in public speaking and

improve their oral communication skills.

Their friends will learn social skills as they sit quietly to listen and wait for their turn to speak

if they want to ask questions.

And all these are accomplished in a fun environment.

The Love children are encouraged to bring their toy every day.

For the Joy & Peace, they have a Show-N-Tell roster chart and they bring their toy once a week.

Through each child’s Show-N-Tell session, we can catch a glimpse of their favourite toys or hobbies!

Mass Activity

We had the children get into groups again this week!

But this time round, these groups were formed to mimic different transport vehicles. Such as…


MOTORCYCLE (pair)

Taking turns to be both motorcyclist and pillion passenger.

CAR (2 front, 2 back) Learning to put a heel forward while leaning backwards to imitate a sudden break situation.

AEROPLANE (6-7 in a line) Preparing for takeoff! Arms up in the air, heads up, and backs arched!

Swaying left and right with arms stretched out,

while cruising along in the air…


and lastly, the MRT (whole school)

Keeping up with each other’s pace,

trying hard not to cause disruption to the rapid transit even when making a turn.

Love 1 & 2

This game tested the Love children’s ability to sort according to colours.

Ready, Coloured sticks were strewn at the centre, and boxes were placed at 4 corners.

Each box has been colour coded.

The aim was to finish sorting all the sticks to the corresponding boxes as quickly as possible.

RULE: They could only grab ONE stick each time.

GO!!!

Making a dash to the centre!!!!


Going round to the different boxes, making sure they were dropping the sticks into the

correct coloured sticks.

The Love children did an absolutely fantastic job!

The sticks were all properly sorted within the next few minutes!

We had a busy time creating our very own windmills ….

Making sure our windmills are colourful and we love pretty things!


Snipping away all the unwanted borders.. it was quite challenging as we had to manoeuvre the scisssors around

different angles…. And we passed the challenge !


Time to decorate our windmills … deciding where to paste the decorations …




Love 1 & 2 Time to practice our colouring …….

A special task only for the Love 2 – to use the scissors to cut out the building ! And they did so well !


Next.. it was time to get sticky as we glued the building onto the toliet roll.

A bead was hidden among the classmates’ pockets.

Loud/soft clappings were used to help their friend guess where the bead was.

i.e. Louder claps when nearer and softer claps when further away from bead

The children went wild as they fought hard to be a Ram-Sam master- keeping up with the dance as it went

faster and faster each time.
