The Adventists School of Nursing is one of the first nursing schools in Jharkhand which started in the year 1996. From the time of inception it has continued to produce well qualified and committed nurses who serve and cater to the health care needs in different parts of the country and the world at large. The GNM course was the first course in the nursing school. The course is affiliated to the Mid India Board Of Education (MIBE) of the Nurses’ league of CMAI. MIBE is credited as the most prestigious nursing education boards in the country recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.

The GNM course gives equal importance to the clinical and theoretical training. The students develop good clinical skills as they are posted in various specialty hospitals and clinics throughout the duration of the course. They conduct medical camps and actively participate in community health nursing practice. Health needs and issue based surveys and mass health education programmes are conducted by the students under the guidance of well qualified experienced teaching and training faculty.

The scheme of evaluation and exams used in the MIBE is purely objective so that our students are tested according to the foreign exam pattern (NCLEX) which evaluates knowledge, comprehension, application and judgment skills of the students.

English speaking is highly encouraged in the campus which helps the students to improve the command of English language in their professional communication. Students actively take part in co-curricular and extracurricular activities and attend seminars and workshops to help them develop leadership skills. Ethics and moral development classes are an integral part of our curriculum. This helps the students shape their attitude in a manner to show commitment in their professional and personal life.

METAS Adventist College of Nursing has been established to adopt and impart value based education to fulfill the need of both health care industry as well as health care educational institutions. They have been groomed by able educators to be experts in their respective fields with leadership qualities, positive attitude, loyalty and integrity to the organization. METAS Adventist College of Nursing, situated in Ranchi, is the best college in the state of Jharkhand, both in

terms of infrastructure and performance of students. Clinical learning experiences continue to be the backbone of nursing education where students bring theory and practice together in a transition to professional practice. Our students are at par with international standards.

The areas of discipline that the Nursing College offers are: ANM, BSc (N) and PBBSc (N). I am proud to say we have a 100% placement and the demand is growing. Our students have excelled each year and are recruited in various prestigious hospitals round the globe.

We give a great deal of importance to clinical practice which enables the nurses to be efficient in the profession. They are given adequate exposure through clinical practice in every branch of study and are taken to various hospitals for postings.
