From the Rector Very Rev. Joseph Tizio, C.Ss.R. Staffed by The Redemptorists This is the last Sunday of the Church year and it is fittingly the Feast of Christ the King. The Church year ends with a celebration of hope in the future, with proclaiming our belief that Christ will come again at the end of time. Today’s second reading from the Letter to the Hebrews proclaims of Christ: “…now he waits until his enemies are made his footstool.” In other words, justice will ultimately prevail, the power of goodness will ultimately overcome the power of evil. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. frequently said: “The arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice”. By nature, our human vision is limited, most of us cannot see be- yond this present age, the future is unknown and many times beyond our control. “The arc of the moral universe is long…” at present, we listen to the news and see the world around us, and we are tempted to despair, to doubt that justice will ever be achieved. We see the inequalities in our society, and live in a world where there is such great suffering, and so much violence, so many innocent people bear so much injustice, we cannot imagine a future where justice will triumph. Yet, our vision is limited, the arc of the moral universe is long, well beyond our vision and imagination. So, we must con- tinue to struggle for a more just world, we must continue to fight for those who suffer injustice with the firm belief that the arc of time will bend toward justice. The feast of Christ the King celebrates that hope for justice, it celebrates our belief that Jesus Christ will triumph and the power of his love will overcome the power of hate. As we bring the Church year to a close, I urge you to believe in the power of the love of Jesus Christ, believe that ultimately the arc of all history will bend toward justice! MASS INTENTIONS FROM THE RECTOR

“Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom does not belong to this world.” -JOHN 18:36

How often do we put all our time and energy into building a king-dom here on earth, forgetting that life here is short? The real kingdom is in the next life. Yet, how much time and energy do we invest in working for that eternal kingdom?

Bible Class in French/CreoleEvery Second Tuesday at 8:00pm

Se sak fè nou gen you kou labib, chak dezyèm Madi, a 8:00 PM. »

Haitian Mass Every Saturday at 7:00pmFrèm ak sèm yo, Bondye, avèk Manman Pèpetyèl toujou la pou li pran swen nou, pou li ban nou nouriti kap kenbe nou solid nan laf-wa. Pou nou ka jwen nouriti spirityèl sa, chak Samdi a 7 pm, nap gen lamès an kreyòl, nan Legliz Pèpetyèl la. Nou tout, ayisyen yo, nou se pitit Manman Pèpetyèl, vini, pou nou selebre lafwa nou, nan lang man-man nou.

The Giving TreeNext Sunday, the First Sunday of Advent, we will begin the Giving Tree. You will find a Christmas tree by the Holy Family Altar in the church filled with ornaments, each ornament has an item to help a person in need this Christmas. We invite you to take an ornament and buy the item on the ornament and bring it to mass on the weekend of December 15-16. All the gifts donated will go to the International Institute of New England and will be used to create welcome baskets for needy refugees and immigrants who have recently arrived here in New England.

Advent Prayer ServiceWe invite you to join us for a special Evening Prayer Service for Healing on Decem-ber 11th at 7:00 pm. We will gather as a community to pray for the healing of all victims of abuse in the Church as well as asking the Spirit to guide those who lead the church to act with justice and to protect all God’s people. The service will be in English, Spanish, and Creole.

Annual CORI FormsThe Archdiocese of Boston requires that all clergy, parish staff (full and part time), together will all volunteers (17 years of age and older) who minister to or have the potential for unmonitored access to children, youth, elderly or the disabled, un-dergo a CORI check. This process requires an individual to fill out a CORI request form annually in accordance with this policy. Please bring your Driver’s License or Massachusetts ID to the Rectory Office for verification. Thank you!

St. Vincent DePaul SocietyThe Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide organization, which is deeply rooted in Christian love and teaching to serve the poor and needy. Volunteer op-portunities are available throughout the year and support is given on an as needed basis in areas of housing, heat, meals and tuition. Learn more by visiting www.svdpmissionchurch.org

The Gift of One Hour Please remember that we depend on your weekly offering to continue the ministry of our parish. We ask that you consider giving the equivalent of one hour of your weekly salary. It’s a goal that would strengthen the offer-tory to be in line with current expenses. If you can not commit one hour at this time, we ask that you contribute at least $5 as a minimum offering for the upkeep and mission of the church. Every gift will be used wisely and carefully. Thank you for the sacrifices you make for this community!
