KARL S. BOTTIGHEIMER is Associate Professor of History at the State Uni- versity of New York, Stony Brook. His English Money and Irish Land: The 'Adventurers' in the Cromwellian Settlement of Ireland was published by Ox- ford University Press in 1971. More recently he has been working on the "failure" of the Reformation in Ireland, 1536-1641.

PAUL CHRISTIANSON is Associate Professor of History at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He is currently working on the ideas and events of 1640-42 in England.

RICHARD W. DAVIS is Professor of History and Chairman of the Department at Washington University, St. Louis. He has published two books: Dissent in Politics, 1780-1830, and Political Change and Continuity, 1760-1885: A Buck- inghamshire Study, the book under discussion in this issue. A biography of Disraeli will be appearing shortly. He has recently finished a study of reform in the period 1826-35, and is about to begin work on a study of the House of Lords from 1660 to 1911.

J. SEARS McGEE is Assistant Professor of History at the University of Califor- nia, Santa Barbara. His book, The Godly Man in Stuart England: Anglicans, Puritans and the Two Tables, 1620-1670, will be published this year by Yale University Press. He is presently editing three early tracts by John Bunyan, which will comprise one volume of a new edition of Bunyan's works to be published by Oxford University Press.

HOWARD L. MALCHOW is Assistant Professor of History at Tufts Univer- sity. He is currently working on a comparative study of late-Victorian pressure groups.

D. C. MOORE is Visiting Professor of History at Yale University and Professor of History at the University of California, Los Angeles. His book, The Poli- tics of Deference, is scheduled for publication in 1976. Among his numerous articles is "The Matter of the Missing Contents: Towards a Theory of the Mid-19th Century British Political System" in Albion (1974). He is present- ly researching political behavior in Leicester, 1832-68.

LAURA STEVENSON O'CONNELL is writing a book on social perceptions in Elizabethan best-sellers (books which went through three editions in ten years) and popular drama. She lives in Santa Barbara, California.

LOWELL J. SATRE is Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of History at Youngstown State University (Ohio). He has published an article on celebrations in London during the South African War and is presently investigating child-labor in Victorian match factories.

J. M. TREADWELL is Assistant Professor of English at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. His research centers on the political and economic background to Augustan literature. He has published "William Wood and the Company of Ironmasters of Great Britain", Business History (1947) and "Jonathan Swift: The Satirist as Projector", Texas Studies in Literature and Language (1975).
