Dreyspring in the lead at 2015 Rotax Grand Finals From November 8 to 14, the international karting circuit of Portimão (Portugal) hosted the 16th edition of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. All the karts were assigned to four categories and used the brand new Rotax engines but chassis from various suppliers (43 brands in total). 288 drivers from 52 countries competed in the finals. In this prestigious event sponsored by Austrian engine manufac-turer BRP-ROTAX, the Salzburg-based VPDR team won five podi-ums, including one world title, in the past decade and is proudly supported by FUCHS. This year, VPDR team participated in this prestigious motorsport event with two drivers: Christopher Dreyspring and Jan MR-Wuenschek. The newly crowned German Senior Rotax Max champion, Christopher Dreyspring, showed, why he is three-time national title winner. He finished in the top 3 in all three qualifying races to rank 5th among 72 drivers in his class and raced the fastest lap. The 17-year-old from Nurn-berg led the pre-final in the early stages of the race, the collision of two other drivers got him into trouble in the closing stages, making his mission to win the title more difficult. Starting from grid position 12 into the final, Dreyspring managed to take a very respectable 7th place in his fight against some of the world’s best who were all competing for victory.
In the Rotax DD2 class, Jan MR-Wuenschek – vice-champion of the Central Eastern Zone series – was invited to the champi-onship final for the first time in his kart racing career. Unfortu-nately, the Austrian driver failed to make the finals following a close battle for 3rd place in the second chance qualifier. His hopes were dashed when he lost vital positions although he posted one of the fastest laps of the race. The qualified drivers must achieve top places (1st to 3rd depending on the level of the event or series – national to international) in the world-wide Rotax Max Challenge Champi-onships in 2016 in order to be invited to compete at this event in one of the four Rotax classes (Junior Max, Senior Max, Rotax DD2 and Rotax DD2 Masters).

Oilee Racing team faithful supporter of FUCHS Silkolene lubricants This season the Oilee Racing team competed in the ‘Manx Grand Prix’ on the Isle of Man (British island), one of the more challenging and hard races, with his new recruit South Australian racer John Chiodi and his Manx local and veteran road rider Allan Brew. Chmielewski team on top of the Polish Rally Championship For the third time, Jan Chmielewski excelled in the eight rounds of the 2015 Polish Rally Championship, won the title in category 2WD and class 3, and obtained a great success with 5th place overall. The season ended with the Arlamow rally and Jan Chmielewski and his co-driver Grzegorz Dachowski were able to enjoy this national victory after a hard and difficult championship. “It was a tough season with breakdowns, an accident and a destroyed car, but with skill and strategy we reached an excellent result with our Citroen DS3-R3T”, said Jan Chmielewski. The chaos happened in the middle of the season during the Rally in Pulawy. Problems with the transmission controller caused an acci-dent in a muddy turn and they crashed the car.
“The first half of the championship was sensational and we were winning the rallies one by one. Unfortunately, after the accident in Puławy, we wondered if we could finish the season. At this difficult moment when we crashed our DS3-R3T, our sponsors supported us and we were able to come back even stronger”, said Jan. Grze-gorz Dachowski concluded: “The 2015 season was very interesting with many new experiences. I cooperated with a lot of fast drivers and I had the opportunity to test differ-ent rally cars, in practice. The last rally was extremely exciting as it decided who would be the winner. Already we are looking forward to the next thrilling season!”

Morgan finished a superb season in style FUCHS LUBRICANTS (UK) PLC. sponsored Ciceley Motorsport team driver Adam Morgan who ended the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season at Brands Hatch with two further podium finishes, claiming 7th overall for 2015 with his amazing record of finishing every lap of the season intact, as he secured 7th place in the Drivers’ Championship and 3rd position in the Independents’ Trophy. The Ciceley Motorsport team won 5th place in the Teams’ Trophy and 2nd position in the Inde-pendents’ Team Trophy to round out a bench-mark season. Triple podium sees Byrne clinch runner up place in BSB Penrith-based Paul Bird Motorsport wrapped up their 2015 MCE British Su-perbike Championship season at Brands Hatch whereby four-times and out-going champion Shane 'Shakey' Byrne did so in fine style with three podiums to secure 2nd place overall in the title race. Shane Byrne said: “We'll come back next year and try our best to win it back.” Paul Bird, the team owner, commented: “Shakey gave it his all from start to finish and we couldn't have asked for any more from him. He rode and performed like the champion we all know he is. It closes a chapter in BSB for us, but with our new Ducati deal another one's about to open and we can't wait.” In another unforgettable season, ‘Shakey’ claimed 17 podiums, nine fastest laps and won seven 1st place finishes.

The Bellerby sisters on the podiums 19-year-old driver Paige Bellerby made history by becoming the first female to win a round of the MSA Super National Championship outright in her Lotus Exige backed by FUCHS. Her younger sister, 17-year-old, Drew also earned honours when she won all three heats in the MSA Junior Swift final and settled for 2nd place in the 2015 season. Joe Collier signs off with a championship performance
Joe Collier, racing on the FUCHS Silkolene backed, Haribo Star-mix Triumph, had a stunning end to what has already been a magnificent season. Joe sealed the Motorpoint Evo Cup Cham-pionship before the end of the season and finished in the final round at Brands Hatch with a brilliant double Evo race victory. Joe Collier said: “It has been a fantastic season and I managed to secure the Evo Championship with 14 wins and 21 podiums which is a great feeling. I also ended up 10th in the overall championship and I can't thank my sponsors enough for all their help and support this year. We've had a great season and I am really pleased we were able to lift the Evo Supersport title and hope 2016 is just as good!”

FUCHS major sponsor of the FIM Africa Motocross The Zimbabwe Motor Sports Federation (ZMSF) in conjunction with the promoter Bogwheelers Club organized the 2015 FIM Africa Motocross at the Donnybrook track. This motorsport event had attracted more than 200 riders across several classes who came from South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Uganda, Swa-ziland and Kenya. Zimbabwe had selected 74 competitors – the biggest team they had managed to field at this event – to drive the country to African motocross glory against drivers from six countries. This team included three girls: 10-year-old Tanya Muzinda leading the chase for medals and points, alongside Leigh-Anne Young (14) and Celine Goodinson (16).
FUCHS in Zimbabwe was the major partner of this event and also sponsored the Zimbabwe team. “FUCHS has been involved in Motor-X in Zimbabwe for the last six years. Alexandre Giroud crowned by the President of the FFM The press conference and award ceremony of the FFM (French Federation of Motorcycling) was held on the prestigious premises of the Automobile Club of France in Paris. To celebrate the 2015 multiple French champions, Jean-Pierre Mougin (Vice-President of the National Olympic and French Sports Committee), Jacques Bolle (President of the FFM), Sébastien Poirier (General Manager of FFM), Pierre Bonneville (FFM Director of Communications) and Michel Leroy (FFM Administrative and Financial Di-rector) were present. This year, ten world titles, four wins in the World Cup and six European titles have been won by French racers. Jacques Bolle failed to recall some figures during the press conference. “Good news overall”, he said. “The FFM has nearly 100,000 members and that number has increased by 5% this year, including day circuit passes. 1,300 events were organized in 2015, a new record!” At the end of the press conference, the title winners were the stars of the ceremony. The FUCHS quad-rider Alexandre Giroud, crowned 2015 World Cup Baja champion, was one of the guests of honour at this award ceremony. The President, Jacques Bolle, officially presented him with the 2015 Trophy dur-ing this special ceremony. “We have followed the sporting career of Alexandre Giroud for many years. We noted the great potential of this driver during the Silkoneige Trophy, organ-ized by his father for many seasons. This highly pro-fessional and effective collaboration convinced us of the seriousness of the team and the fact that Daniel Giroud is the team manager who justified our choice”, explained Pascal Brotonne, FUCHS Silko-lene Director. “The quad market is significant in France and is a niche where we have to be pre-sent.”

Maxime Desprey won the title of ‘King of Lille’ for the second consecutive time More than 40,000 spectators came during the two days to cheer the success of the world’s best riders in supercross and freestyle motocross at the Paris-Lille Supercross. Elected as the most important and prestigious European Supercross event, this competition lived up to its slogan: “100% super-cross, 100% freestyle and 200% show”. All the fans were enthusiastic about the talent and the performance of these fantastic riders. 2014 winner, Maxime Desprey, racer of the Kawasaki Bud Racing team, dominated the two SX2 finals and won the title of ‘King of Lille’ for the second time.
Before the race, he announced: “I will not let anything stop me from gaining a 2nd victory in SX2 class.” As soon as he had secured this title, he flew to the USA to take up a new and very important challenge, the 250cc US Supercross Cham-pionship. The American Darian Sanayei, a new recruit of the Kawasaki Bud Racing team, will be his teammate for the next season. In addition of this success, Maxime Desprey shone with the MX2 Motocross French title and won 4th place in the 250cc Motocross European Championship with three victories this season. The 250cc US Supercross Championship will start on 3 January 2016.

2nd place for Tatsuya Kataoka and Nobuteru Taniguchi on 2015 Super GT Championship After eight rounds, the final race of 2015 Super GT Champion-ship took place on November 14 and 15, at the Twin Ring Motegi, one of the largest race tracks in Japan. The team Goodsmile Racing & TeamUkyo had a good time record and finished the pre-final in 3rd place in front of 14 others teams, and it was a very good chance to win the championship this year. On the day of the final, it rained and all the teams had to find the right strategy. Which type of tyre to use for wet or dry conditions because the rain was supposed to stop soon. Then, just a couple of minutes before the start of the race, there was a shower. However, the team showed great performance thanks to the good expertise of the professionals and the perfect choice of the tyres. On the some last rounds, they obtained a great 1st position. Tatsuya Kataoka and Nobuteru Taniguchi drove their Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 really powerfully and defended their position with conviction. Finally, they reached a great 2nd place after APR Toyota Prius team.
“We are really glad to win the 2nd place but feel also sad at the same time. The APR Toyota Prius team was really fast. But this season, we finished the race in 2nd position and that’s not bad”, said Tatsuya Kataoka and Nobuteru Taniguchi.
