How To Select, Store and Serve

Strawberries?• Strawberries do not ripen

after harvesting. So make sure to pick ones that are bright red, have a natural shine and green caps that look fresh.

• Store unwashed strawberries in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.

• Before serving, use cool water to gently wash strawberries with the green caps still attached.

producer of strawberries in the US.

• If all the strawberries produced in California this year were laid berry to berry, they would wrap around the world 15 times. That is enough strawberries to provide every household in the United States with 12 one pint baskets.

• The four main growing regions for strawberries in California are Monterrey, Santa Barbara, Ventura and Orange/San Diego.
