Penduka provides work to women in Namibia so

that they and their families have an income and

the downward spiral of poverty can be broken.

Penduka is the name of a development organization

for women in Namibia and means 'Wake up!' The

women of Penduka embroider stories using the

typical imagery of the ethnic groups to which they

belong. The embroidery is made in Africa and sold

in Europe. By purchasing a Penduka product, you

not only have a wonderful and unique item to enjoy,

but you are also contributing to improving the lives

of women in Namibia. Buro Reng invited the women

of Penduka to embroider various icons, symbols,

figures, letters and numbers. The front and back

of the stunning embroidery was then converted

into the Penduka typeface, in collaboration with

Typemafia. This forms the basis of the new visual

identity.

Van Dam & Partners Architects has become

VdpArchitecten. Peter van Dam is the successor to

Arnold Venema, so it's time for a new style while

maintaining existing values.

A new corporate identity with its own font based

on the initials 'A' and 'V' – Arnold Venema – makes

VdpArchitecten stand out in the market, from the

cornerpiece of floor plans to communication for a

new project.

Architecture is something that has to be

experienced, which is why the National Day of

Architecture was created by the BNA in 1986. Every

year during the last weekend of June, the public is

given the opportunity to visit architectural projects.

There are guided tours, lectures, exhibitions, cycling

and walking tours, presentations and debates.

And the Open Office Architectural was initiated in

2011, allowing the public to catch a glimpse of the

architects' offices.

Letters become architecture. Buro Reng designed a

new font – a transformation of Helvetica – for the Day

of Architecture Groningen, as part of the new branding

and communications for the annual event. Buro Reng

developed a dynamic logo that appears to be 3D. There

are several versions of the logo, wide and narrow.

For the Day of Architecture in Groningen, Buro Reng

designed the corporate identity, a logo animation,

website and poster-brochure.

The Kroonjuwelen – Sterrebos, Springerpark,

Turfeiland, Nieuwe Kerkhof, Prinsentuin,

Guyotplein, Martinikerkhof and Noorderplantsoen

– play a key role in the municipal green structural

policy. At these eight green locations in the city of

Groningen, nature and history combine to create

extraordinary quality. The Municipality of Groningen

aims to draw public attention to these places.

A woolen sweater becomes a new toy, old handles

from England get a new life. Wool from German

Blackface Sheep, a Chinese gong, special fabrics,

old knots, exotic materials, arts & crafts techniques,

and colorful designs are all typical PJUK.

PJUK makes objects where different worlds meet; old

and new, smooth and rough, edgy and elegant. Through

the design and implementation of the new style we try

to bring these different worlds together.
