These meetings are very important as they give you information on how your child has progressed over the year and in particu- lar in relation to the goals that were set at the beginning of the year. If you are unable to attend on the day that is allocated please contact the school and we will try and set up a time with you when you are available to come to the school. There is further information in the newsletter about the Skoolbag app and how to set it up on your phone or devices. Once it is 100% operational you will also be able to access the newsletter through the app. Whole school assembly is on Friday 27 November at 10.30am. Students from each class run the assembly and they also present their work and explain what they have been doing in class. If you have a spare half hour the students and staff would love to see you at assem- bly which is held in the building next to the car park. Over the next few weeks parent surveys will be sent home. As part of writing the Annual School Report we include the information from these surveys. The sur- veys are short and should only take a few minutes to complete. Arran is very proud of his culture and has been in- volved in many activities organised by Cooee Cot- tage. During the Cultural Day at Gadara School this year he was very in- volved particularly in the retelling of the story ‘Tiddalick’. Ashley van Rijswijk is a champion swimmer and the previous weekend com- peted in an Albury swim- ming meet. As you can see from the num- ber of medals that Ashley is holding that she did very well, winning many races! Zac Bond was success- ful in the Bupa Art com- petition last Friday. The theme was ‘Connecting Generations’. Zac’s art work was a multimedia entry with a photo of him- self and his grandmother digitally changed and then enhanced with watercolours. Congratulations to these students for their outstanding efforts. FROM THE PRINCIPAL Dear Parents/Carers

Review Meetings begin this week. These meetings are very important as they give you information on how your child has progressed over the year and in particu-lar in relation to the goals that were set at the beginning of the year. Outstanding Students

Arran Stokes received a Cultural Participation award at the Proud and Deadly Awards on Wednesday night. Class 3 News

Class 3 has been reading the book ‘Olga the Brolga’ in Accelerated Literacy.

Students have completed many writing activities and have just made some beauti-

ful invitations for a Dance Party.

Students have also been learning about analogue and digital time and now have a

better understanding of o’clock and half-past.

The P&C is currently raffling a 40 inch television for its annual Christmas raffle. Tickets will be sent home shortly for students families to sell and return to school. Tickets are also being sold outside Woolworths on Friday after-noons and will be available on Presentation night. Any families who are interested in helping to sell tickets on Friday afternoons please contact the school.

Athletics Carnival Some of our students will be travelling to Wagga to participate in the Multiclass Athletics Carnival on Friday 20 November. We wish them good luck and hope they do well in the races and events they enter .

The Indigenous Garden at Tumut Hospital

Mrs Armstrong and students from Gadara School participated in painting the poles to make a ‘Healing Fence’ for the Indigenous Garden at Tumut Hospital. The theme for our pole was ‘Healing Hands’. Mrs Armstrong, Mrs Butler and Class 3 represented Gadara School at the opening of the Gardens by the Mayor on Wednesday 28 October 2015.

Skoolbag App What is Skoolbag? Skoolbag provides schools with an easy way to tell parents/carers everything they need to know, and it provides parents with the most convenient way to receive school information. No more lost paper in student school bags! School newsletters, school notices and alerts are communicated di-rectly to the parent smartphone through the Skoolbag school Mobile App. Skoolbag is school Mobile App that communicates directly with iPhone, iPad, Android, and Windows Phones de-vices. Loading Instructions Attached to the newsletter is the Skoolbag Parent Instruction sheet. Our School now has our own Skoolbag iPhone and Android App. We are asking parents to install our Skoolbag School App. To install it, just search for our school name Gadara School in either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. For Windows users search for \\\"Skoolbag\\\" in the Windows Store and install the app and then find your school.

Please note it must be a Windows 8.1 or 10 device.

For iPhone and iPad users:

1. Click the "App Store" icon on your Apple device.

2. Type your school name in the search, using suburb name will help.

3. You will see your school appear, click "Get" then "install".

4. The app is FREE to download.

5. When installed click "Open"

6. Select "OK" to receive push notifications, when asked.

7. Click the "More" button on the bottom right of the App, then "Setup".

8. Toggle on the Push Categories that are applicable for you by tapping the on/off switch.

For Android users:

You must first have signed up with a Google Account before installing the app.

1. Click the "Play Store" button on your Android Device 2. Click the magnifying glass icon at the top and type in your school name, using suburb name will help. 3. Click the school name when it appears in the search. 4. Click the "Install" button. 5. Click "Accept" for various permissions (please note, we do not modify any of your personal data on your device). 6. Click "Open" when installed. 7. Click the "More" button on the bottom right of the App, then "Setup". 8. Toggle on the Push Categories that are applicable for you by tapping the on/off switch. Please Note: Some brands of Android phones need the setting in "Notification Manager" changed to "Allow" instead of "Notify" in order for the push notifications to work. The phone must also be running at least version 4 system software to run the app.

For Windows 8.1 Phone and Windows 8.1 or 10 device users

1. Go to the Windows Store on your 8.1 Windows Phone or Windows 8.1/10 Device 2. Search for "Skoolbag" in the keyword app search 3. Install the Skoolbag app 4. Find your school either by using the keyword search or location service. 5. Click the "Pin" icon to pin the school tile to your Windows Phone home screen. 6. Click the "More" button on the bottom right of the App, then "Setup" 7. Toggle the Push Categories that are applicable to you by tapping the on/off switch. Please Note: The Skoolbag Windows App is for 8.1 version Windows Phones, or Windows 8.1 and 10 devices.
