Scouting the JaguarsThe Jags are currently on a four-game skid with their most recent loss coming on their home court against Murray State, 88-68 on Dec. 21. east LansIng, Mich. – The St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team played wire-to-wire, but could not overcome No. 16/20 Michigan State’s size as the Bonnies fell 67-59 at in front of 5,119 fans at the Breslin Center on Monday night. St. Bonaventure falls from the ranks of the unbeaten as its record moves to 11-1 while Michigan State improves to 9-3. Sophomore Megan van tatenhove drilled in a game-high 19 points (8-of-16) from the floor and 3-for-4 from the line. Senior Dana Mitchell added 18 points. Both forwards pulled down four rebounds in the loss. St. Bonaventure shot a respectable 45 percent (24-53) from the field, but just 1-for-10, a season-low, from behind the arc. The Bonnies turned 14 points off the Spartans’ 15 turnovers, but could not surpass Michigan State’s second chance points as the Spartans converted 17 to the Bonnies’ three. The Spartans held a 34-32 edge off the glass and 7-1 advantage in blocks thanks to three from 6-foot-9 senior Allyssa DeHaan. Senior andrea Doneth, an East Lansing native, scored six points and grabbed six boards. Redshirt sophomore armelia horton notched a team-high eight caroms and added eight points.
