teers a huge amount of work was completed at the garden. After discussion it was agreed the next work day

would be held Thursday, September 17, at 5:30 pm. The goal is to transplant the tall plants on the edge of

the garden to the center area and to add more butterfly plants. We are asking members to donate plants

that are host or nectar plants for any of our native butterflies.

very successful do to the volunteer efforts of our own Garden Club members, Community Service workers

from Westland Court, past members from St. Dunstan’s and other members of the community. Tipton

opened the bathrooms for workers.

The DDA has volunteered to donate bricks to the garden to replace those that were removed. Stacy Also

suggested that we could plan some craft projects for the winter months, such as bird houses, to place in the

garden in the spring.

After a discussion on a name for the garden, a motion was made by Pat McKarge and 2nd by Cheryl Partin

to name the garden, Garden City Garden Club Serenity Garden.

Garden Club Member T-Shirts Discussion on ordering new shirts that our m ale m embers

Cheryl Partin will begin meeting in October to plan the veterans memorial at the Butterfly Garden. Stacy

Karafotis suggested we add a flagpole to the area at the same time. Richard LeBlanc said he would donate

the flags. The area would have to have solar lights to light up the flag at night.
