    Dress and demeanor is very important:

    Dress should be conservative and somberSome colors should be avoided because they hold significant

    meaning in China that they do not hold anywhere else.

    Greetings are equally important:

    It is a tradition in China to bow when you greet someone.

    Shaking hands is only acceptable when a hand is extended to

    you.

    Speaking with your hands is not considered polite.

    It is important to be punctual.

    Rules apply to gift giving.

    It is not considered polite to give a clock.

    The colors blue and white are related to death in the Chinese culture.

    Roughly the same amount of regulatory agencies as the United States.

    The Chinese Government encourages investment in high technology industry.

    Chinese firms have little global business experience.

    Chinese regulatory agencies leave hiring and firing practices to the discretion

    of the company; however they remain dedicated to fair and equal treatment

    of Chinese citizens and local labor authorities retain governance over who

    can be employed.
