GENDER
Refers to the socially constructed role, behaviors,activities, and attributes that a given societyconsiders appropriate for men and women.

Everyone has the right of life, liberty and security of theperson. Men and women of full age without anylimitation due to race, nationality or religion, have theright to marry or to have a family. They are entitledto equal right as to marriage and its dissolution.
Marriage shall be entered in to only with the free andfull consent of the attending spouses. The family isthe natural and fundamental group, unit of thesociety and is entitled to protection by society andstate.

Women in Pakistan face all kinds of grossviolence and abuse at the hands of themale perpetuators, family members andstate agents. Multiple forms of violenceinclude rape; domestic abuse as spousalmurder, mutilation, burning anddisfiguring faces by acid, beatings;ritual honour-killings and custodialabuse and torture.
