Current status of TTC’s IPR Current status of TTC’s IPR handlinghandling
• IPR (Industrial Property Right) is being handled. • Trademark not handled.• Only the copyright of TTC Standards and
Specifications considered, not other types of documents.
• IPR Policy specifies basic principles. (TTC Board of Directors approves and publishes IPR Policy.)
• Operation Procedures specify detailed procedures regarding IPR Statements and their maintenance, including IPRs owned by non-members. (IPR Committee approves and publishes Operation Procedures.)

Alignment with ITU-T patent Alignment with ITU-T patent guidelinesguidelines
• Discussions on enhancements to TTC IPR guidelines to incorporate recent enhancements made in ITU-T– Patent statements could be submitted with different options per
patent claim – TTC has completed draft enhancements and had been waiting
for the formal decision in ITU-T/ITU-R/ISO/IEC (Ready now!)• Different interpretations when no patent information (which is
desired but not required) submitted associated with the ITU-T/ITU-R/ISO/IEC common patent statement– All essential patents owned by the patent holder for the Rec. will
be negotiated based on RAND, etc.– Apart from one or more essential patents to be negotiated based
on RAND, etc., patent holder reserves the right to differently declare in subsequent statements regarding other patents in the future
– TTC has submitted a contribution to the ITU-T IPR Adhoc.

• TTC submitted a contribution to assure that SDOs can distribute software contained in Recommendations to their members (in item b of Annex B).
• The contribution was accepted with a slight modification.

• TTC has contributed to APT in developing its first IPR policy.
• APT IPR policy has been aligned with that of ITU-T.
• NTT, a member of TTC, volunteered to provide an editor for further alignment in the future.

• TTC has become a type 1 member of the oneM2M.
• TTC IPR Committee has reviewed its IPR policy and made comments in terms of alignment with IPR policies of ITU-T and TTC.
• TTC IPR Committee will continuously monitor the progress of the forum, in particular, of its IPR policy.
