The Adopt-A-Family Program

by Perpetual Prosperity Pumps Foundation

A bottom up approach to eradicating poverty

Page 2: Ghana Powerpoint

“The Perpetual Prosperity Pumps service learning project was most beneficial. It taught almost every student about an African country that we can help.

It interested me to learn about how other people live and what opportunities they have. I also

compared my life to that of a kid in Ghana…We helped a family out of poverty.”

Cameron, age 13

THE CHALLENGES

• Over one billion people exist on small farms on one dollar a day. Irrigation is the single biggest hurdle to increasing agricultural productivity. Moving water means making money as a perpetual harvest can be maintained

• To make available appropriate seeds, livestock, and technology combined with proper training in regenerative agricultural practices

Page 8: Ghana Powerpoint

From Poverty to Prosperity PPP Adopt-A-Family Program provides…

• M.O.R.E. - Modular Organic Regenerative Environment. Regenerative agricultural practice on ¼ acre of land. This allows small farmers to build on the healing forces of nature

• Access to water on the micro-farm• A quarter acre integrated vegetable farm including in ground and

container organic growing systems• Three local breed hens and one rooster • A pregnant rabbit and hutch• One colonized bee hive• 600 Lucaena trees• 20 assorted fruit trees• 100 inoculated mushroom bags• A bicycle

The M.O.R.E System

Modular Organic Regenerative Environment

How does M.O.R.E. work?

Page 10: Ghana Powerpoint

M.O.R.E. mimics nature, nothing is wasted in the M.O.R.E. System

Everything adds value

Page 11: Ghana Powerpoint

Farmers can grow ten times the amount currently produced by making better use of natural

resources…

Page 12: Ghana Powerpoint

M.O.R.E. addresses the stabilization of the

environment by reducing the need

for deforestation

Page 13: Ghana Powerpoint

Thus, in the process, contributing positively to the fight against global warming

Page 14: Ghana Powerpoint

One year of instruction in the M.O.R.E. System empowers a family to increase productivity

1,000% within 2 years!

Page 15: Ghana Powerpoint

Upon graduation the appropriate technologies are awarded to each family to

insure success

Page 16: Ghana Powerpoint

This all happens because of…

Page 17: Ghana Powerpoint

YOUby your generosity and efforts in

the collection and recycling of used athletic shoes

Page 18: Ghana Powerpoint

Recycling of such shoes eliminates unneeded refuse in our landfills and even M.O.R.E. importantly provides scholarships

Page 19: Ghana Powerpoint

Scholarships are established to bring the poorest rural farmers to

award winning agricultural institutes currently in Ghana, West Africa

“The Perpetual Prosperity Pumps project was the project I learned the most from because I learned that I am fortunate to have a roof over my head and have the resources around me to succeed in life. I also learned that it is good to help others…it can make you feel a sense of

pride.”Shelley, age 12

Page 21: Ghana Powerpoint

A true model of reform and you play a vital role in changing the

world…

Page 22: Ghana Powerpoint

A look toward the future…

• Identify and provide alternative sources of power such as solar energy

• Expand the program by enrolling new families in an extended training program

• Identify additional villages in Ghana to receive the support of the PPP program

• Add shoe collection sites nationally

• Work with NGO (Non Government Organization) partners to bring goods and services to those in need in order to foster independence, education, and improved healthcare

Page 23: Ghana Powerpoint
