Gina Krog (1847 – 1916)

From Karmøy but born at Flakstad in Lofoten

Gina fought for women’s right in the

workplace, society and politics. She

believed that women should have the

same right-to-vote as men and her dream

was realised in 1913.

The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and

Energy decided to rename the Dagny

field to the Gina Krog field on 8 March

2013.
