Here we will present an efficient solution which goes far beyond the standard. Glamox C50 is a product family which caters for various lighting requirements within school and office lighting.

With the Glamox C50 family you can combine and fit luminaires for maximum effect and comfort. A variety of possibilities and appropriate solutions bring flexibility to the workplace and to your project.

Glamox C50 – endless solutions

Glamox C50 is a product family for schools and office buildings which goes far beyond any standard solution. With Glamox C50 the possibilites for fitting and combining solutions suitable for your project are limitless. system solutions are easily connected, by simply hooking the desired luminaires together at 90 degrees from each other. With flexible suspension you can also reduce the number of suspension points for row mounting. Choose between various optics suited to presentation lighting, table lighting, video conference rooms or office/classroom lighting.

The luminaire is available with a special seamless tube, which gives a continuous line of light in the ceiling. decorative and effective.

Recessed models

single luminairesThe Glamox C50-R is a slim, straight luminaire for recessing into solid ceilings. It comes complete with end caps and lamps installed as an option. Recessed models have cable entries in the centre top or end making connection easy. The C50-R is supplied with a unique bracket to simplify height adjustment and which can accommodate a ceiling panel up to 55 mm thick.

systemWith Glamox C50-Ps the possibilites for fitting and combining solutions suitable for your project are limitless. The luminaire can be fitted in L, T, X or in rows. Hook the lunimaires together at the ends, in the middle or wherever you require the second luminaire. One row, two rows... The choice is yours!

Glamox C50-Ps is delivered with through wiring and a bracket for row mounting. To make the system complete, you need to order the number of end caps, cross brackets, blind infills and suspensions as your solution requires.

Optics for indoor workplaces

MP sL/sU dL/dU

sL and sU are Glamox’ traditional

double parabolic softlight reflectors with

a varied degree of efficiency and good

shading. The diffusing material creates a

soft transition from light to dark and softer

shade. sL is for single lamp, sU is for twin

lamps in a single cell.

dL and dU are Glamox’ traditional double

parabolic darklight reflectors. With

optimum shading and good degree of

efficiency. The highly polished reflectors

are ideal if using older types of computer

screens or in situations where strong

reflected light can reduce eye comfort.

MP is a high quality microprism reflector

providing a softer luminance transition at

65 degrees. Ideal for soft lighting which

gives a little direct reflection from any flat

surfaces.

Special Optics

OP OPA sA

sA is a double parabolic reflector with

asymmetrical light distribution, ideal where

good shading with asymmetrical light

distribution is required. The sA reflector

is also part of Glamox’ unique concept of

presentation lighting.

OP is Glamox’ traditional opalised plastic

cover made of extruded acryl, and is

simple to remove and replace. The serial

installation model has an overlap fixture

to facilitate lamp coverage in continuous

rows of luminaires.

OPA is an opalised cover with an

asymmetrical design, ideal for corridors

where the luminaires are to be positioned

asymmetrically. OPA is also designed

specifically for video conferences (see

page 23) and for presentation lighting

(see page 16).

Reflectors

The XA is a reflector with high efficiency

asymmetric light distribution, which can be

used as a “wall washer” or as a board

luminaire for standard blackboards.

WBO is a reflector specially developed

for lighting whiteboards. It gives a narrow

beam light distribution angled at approx.

15°⁰ from vertical.

Why do we find it easier to learn when there is an intermediary present? Is body language and expression important in getting the message across? If so, then why do teachers stand between the board lighting and the general lighting in the class-room?

By allowing the messenger to come into the light you ensure that the message receives greater attention.

Indirect lighting frames the messenger at the same time that a soft and directed light shines at 45 degrees, so that facial expressions and body language are clearly visible.

The Glamox C50 has been specially designed for this type of lighting.

Whiteboardsmartboards have become the preferred AV equipment in new meeting and class-rooms. If a single board only is used, it is usually a whiteboard, for which the lighting differs from traditional blackboards as there are higher levels of reflection, and the lux requirement is lower due to better contrast. Glamox has developed a special reflector for whiteboards (suspended models only) we call it WBO. By using a special wall bracket placed 10 cm above the board, optimum lighting levels for whiteboards are achieved.

BlackboardsBoard widths in classrooms often vary according to subject. Recommended board height is approx. 1.2. m with the lower edge 0.9 m above the floor. In accordance with en 12464-1, the lux level for blackboards must be 500 lux with an evenness of > 0.7. The Glamox C50-Ps with an extremely asymmetric (XA) reflector can be used for board lighting. see figure for optimum positioning of Glamox C50-Ps XA. Can also be installed on a wall bracket.

Glamox C50 is a complete product family with a range of optics and installation options designed for simplicity, flexibility and effectiveness. They are stylish and have a high quality finish, made of extruded aluminium with cast aluminium end caps, and available in white or matt silver grey paint (RAL 9006).

The products have a number of special features such as rigid jointing system, fast electrical connection, brackets for row and system solutions and adjustable suspension distance. For optimised energy savings, they can be supplied with integrated sensors for motion and daylight. Also available with integrated Led emergency lights covering a 7.5 metre radius.

Video conferencing

The advantages of running meetings via video conferencing are many. To achieve the best result, the lighting in the room must be good. The principles of video conference lighting are the same as those for TV studios.

LED RGBSeamless

Integrated Led emergency Glamox can offer a complete range of integrated Led emergency luminaires. Integrated emergency is often the only way to comply with the aesthetic requirements in a modern building.

By using Led technology thus using a dedicated light source for emergency we can be more certain that the lamp is working when it is supposed to. The need for lower capacity on the battery also reduces the maintenance cost.

These models are available as either standard (s), self Test (sT) and address-able system based on dALI, which can function as a separate system, or be linked to other systems via gateways etc.

Integrated sensorsTo save energy means saving the environment for further strain of CO2 emission. Lighting consumes around 19% of the energy in commercial buildings. The easiest way to reduce the energy consumption in a lighting installation is to turn off the light when no one is present and reduce the light level according to in-coming daylight.

By using an integrated sensor we achieve both reduction of cost and complexity. By standardizing the mounting and the types of sensor Glamox have made it available in our standard assortment in most of our interior products.

Glamox’ integrated sensor solutions make saving energy easy.

Glamox delivers today 3 different choice of sensors:

• Glamox s-sensor is a stand alone presence sensor that turns the light automatically off when no one is present in the room.

• Glamox M-sensor is a Master presence sensor that dims the light automatically down to 10% when no one is present in the room. This applies for both the master and slave luminaires that are connected to the master.

• Glamox d-sensor is a multi sensor that is a combination of a presence sensor and daylight sensor. It can be set manually with 2 different modes, one for cellular office and one for office landscape. By using an advanced remote control a further 8 modes can be set, ex. classroom.

Glamox C50 seamless (sLs) is based on a special seamless light source. This solution gives a shadow less seamless light slot that is easy to mount. seamless variants are available as recessed and surface mounted versions.

Glamox C50 is also available with Led RGB. Combine general lighting with colours – play with light. The pictures only illustrate examples of colours. Led RGB should be combined with general lighting to achieve special effects.

Glamox C50 can also be delivered with overlapping standard T5 lamps as a “Tetris” (TeT) connection. The Tetris variants are also available as recessed and surface mounted versions.
