Automotive Radar Application Definition
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Adaptive Cruise Control is also known as Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) or Radar Cruise Control (RCC) or Active Cruise Control (ACC). ACC is an intelligent technology that adjusts the speed of the car according to the car moving in front. Hence, the ACC speeds up and slows down a car automatically with respect to the car/s moving ahead.
Blind Spot Detection (BSD)
Blind Spot Detection (BSD) is a technology that enables the driver to get a view of the surrounding cars before the driver begins to change lane. BSD can detect cars coming from the blind spot or the area, which is not visible to the driver while driving.
Forwoard Collision Warning System (FCWS)
Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a technology for the prevention of collisions from the front part of the car. FCW alerts the driver when the car is about to collide with another car ahead. The kind of technology that is used in the FCW systems varies from OEM to OEM.
Lane Departure Collision Warning System (LDWS)
Lane Departure Warning is a system which assists in maintaining safety by alerting the driver when it detects that the car has deviated from its intended lane.
Parking Assistance (PA)
Parking Assistance system finds appropriate parking spaces and moves the car into located spaces automatically and with great precision. The driver is only required to operate the accelerator and brake pedals.

Automotive Radar is classified into five radars, namely Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Detection (BSD),Forward Collision Warning System (FCWS), Lane Departure Collision Warning System (LDWS) and ParkingAssistance (PA).
