The holidays are in a full swing. First were New
Year and Christmas, then Old New Year. Oh sorry,
I skipped one more remarkable event that shaped
the whole mood of this festive time:
Trinity Christmalicious Party, which took
place on 24 December on our premises. If you were
a part of this celebration, you are among the lucky
ones. If you could not make it, then make sure that
2012 party will be honoured by your presence as
this is a real shame to miss such fun.
It is also imperative to draw the conclusions
from English Oscar Ceremony which singled out
the best from the best and awarded the most com-
mendable ones. To refresh, it is necessary to remind
that there were 10 nominations:
1. The student with the best attendance
2. The breakthrough of the year
3. The most resourceful speaker
4. The most engaging writer
5. The best group
6. The most industrious and active group
7. The most buoyant student
8. The best individual student
9. The best student of Trinity Education Group
10. The best Fancy Dress Costume.
We are going to rank the winners by groups and
track the most award-rich ones.
So, let’s start the ball rolling!!!

FCE-1 group
The group that runs rings around everyone is … wait for this … FCE -
1. They reaped a lot of fruits at this party. Polina, Sasha, Misha, Lida,
Tanya, Lera, Kate and Inna souped up the whole event by taking 4 Os-
cars. The best fancy dress and the nomination for the most buoyant stu-
dent were snatched by Lera Svirskaya, The best student of Trinity Edu-
cation Group was to go home with Polina Adamchik and the best group
nomination was to be handed to FCE-1. ‘Second to None’, as they call
themselves, impressed the audience with their sketch ‘Addicted to Eng-
lish’. They revealed that they are stuck with English forever and there is
no escape route. Wise words guys, wise words.
GMAT
The second best is GMAT trio (Lera, Ira and Alina). These smart la-
dies were to gain three Oscars for the best fancy dress costumes. Nefertiti,
Little Red Riding Hood and Yeti were so elaborate and juicy that they
were to be awarded. Besides, Alina Kovalenko rightfully laid hands on
the nomination for the most engaging writer. Though, she admitted that
writing is the most nightmarish experience that she has to go through. Re-
ally, all great works were delivered in pain!
TOEFL
A bit lagging behind is TOEFL group (Dasha, Alex, Vladymyr, Ca-
mila and Sergio). Vladymyr Serdyuk was to open the party by taking
the award for the student with the best attendance. Curiously enough he
did not show up after the ceremony for the class. I guess that he was only
after Oscar, otherwise what can explain his absenteeism after a half year
of diligent presence at every single class))) The second prize was to go to
Sergio Klimenko – the best pirate at the party (fancy dress nomination).

FCE-3
FCE -3 also had a nominee to go with a prize. The lucky one was Di-
ana Adlitsova who is a happy beholder of the nomination of the break-
through of the year. This stunning lady was the right person to leave the
party with an award.
FCE-2
Though FCE-2 appealed to everyone with their version of Trinity An-
them ‘Cause baby we are Trinity’, they had to walk away with a different
award. Valera Slavinskiy was the one to share the nomination for the
most buoyant student of our school. Additional thanks are to be given to
Valeria Ivachnenko for her praise-worthy assistance during the ceremo-
ny. You rock guys!
CAE-6 It goes without saying that the most industrious and active group was
CAE 6 (Nataly, Lida, Kate, Nastya and Luydmila). They stunned eve-
ryone with their costumes of Upstream books. I reckon this sheer fact tes-
tifies to their diligence and dedication to English. Keep it up this way
guys!
Olga Gurskaya and Valeria Tretyakova The Oscar also spotted two high flyers among individual students:
Olya Gurskaya (Elementary) and Lera Tretyakova (SAT). Olya has
outstanding results in her tests while Lera has successfully passed TOEFL
and is about to tackle one more challenge – SAT. Ladies, you are our in-
spiration and pride!

Alexand Talah (Starter)
But the real flavour of the day was to be delivered by the student from
the Starter group – Alex Talah. This determined young gentleman baf-
fled everyone with his proficient speech as everyone gasped in disbelief
when he was making a thank you speech after getting a prize for the best
student of Trinity Education Group. With such students, I think language
can be mastered just in a year!!!
Overall the party hosted 50 people and we are sorry for those who we
had to reject an entrance ticket as the number of places was limited. We
will do our best to ensure that future parties will hold all those who ex-
press the desire to take part in our events. You make them unforgettable
and really awesome. So, brace yourself for a new party to be held in Feb-
ruary – it will be a new talk of the town for sure)))

Happy New year and Merry Christmas once again to everyone! I’m
so pretty sure that 2011 has brought lots of luck and adventures to each of
you. For me this year was full of significant events and I can even assert
that it was pretty a U-turn in my life, despite some adversities, last year
showed me a leeway in different spheres of life, moreover it incentiv-
ized and inspired me for self-improvement, so I feel a little bit more com-
placent now.
All right, this is it about me, I would like to thank you, my dear stu-
dents, for being active and persistent, for combining fun and work, for
each of your smile and new learnt rule or word.
To the best of my belief, you guys, need to multiply this yearning for
knowledge that you’ve got now, to sometimes learn in parrot fashion, to
stay regimentally calm if you get into troubles and of course I wish you in
new year certificates with flying colours .
Our Christmas party was great, by the by, and I want to thank Ann
and Tanya for this created unity in our school where everyone being a part
of a team and creative crew is also an important individuality!
So, enjoy new semester, laugh loudly, study and work hard, grin from
ear to ear, piggyback on your gained knowledge but never stop learning
something new, there is always so much to aspire to, think green as we do
that in Trinity !)
Nadya Pachadgy (Language Instructor)
Conducting this kind of event was an excellent idea, because all our
events have served to unite the students of different groups and levels.
The Oscar ceremony, in addition to all its advantages, has given the possi-
bility for the students of the lowest levels, e.g. starters, to become a part
of a huge Trinity-community and watching my students of completely dif-
ferent levels to make friends was really a great pleasure for me. So, when
I received admired feedbacks from my students I understood that some-
thing that we’re doing brings people a lot of positive emotions and I’m
extremely happy that I had an opportunity to make a contribution in this
activity.

This is a tale of two friends: a bear and a hare. It happened so that the
bear lost his heart because of protecting his friend from predators.
He thought that his heart is lost forever, that he will stand out without a
heart. From now on he will never appeal to anyone. He is bound to be-
come a wet blanket at every party, he will turn into a down-to-earth crea-
ture. Just without a heart. He pictured an impossible and torturous exist-
ence. He will never be able to find a gripping book or a movie. He will
not be able even to flatter without a heart. His friend, a hare, has decided
to give him a part of his heart, to sacrifice it for his comrade … for the
main holiday of the year –Christmas.
After all these ordeals they were living happily together. The bear was
able to do all those things and the hare had his friend back. Christmas
makes everyone happy.
Christmas Sacrifice by Valera Slavinskiy FCE-2
I should note that Christmas evening in Trinity school was a kind of
unbelievable experience. Now I can say for sure that my group FCE1 is
really fantastic, because you, guys, chose us as the best group. And I am
proud of us very much and want to thank you. Besides, I really enjoyed
the main idea of the performance because I guess that each of us felt bril-
liant, like a real movie-star. Personally I had a rush of adrenaline when
we performed or took part in competitions, and certainly I was astonished
when I received an award. So, thanks for all organizers, I’m waiting
for the next meeting^)
