The 6th Samos Summit on ICT-enabled Governance
This year: a high-level meeting of research and
innovation, “blended” with the 3rd International Summer
School on Open and Collaborative Governance
5 days (2 days Summit, 3 days summer school)
More than 50 speakers in 10 sessions
Main topic of the Summit : “Beyond Government 2.0”
My aim : to explain more about Gov X.0 and the next
steps in electronic Government / Governance research
Electronic Government / eGovernment
Electronic government (or e-government) essentially refers to
"The utilization of Information and Communication
Technologies (ICTs), and other web-based telecommunication
technologies
to improve and/or enhance on the efficiency and effectiveness of
service delivery in the public sector, towards citizens and
entreprises.“

E-Governance is the public sector’s use of information and
communication technologies with the aim of improving
information and service delivery, encouraging citizen
participation in the decision-making process and making
government more accountable, transparent and effective

that aim to harness collaborative technologies to create an
open-source computing platform in whichgovernment,
citizens, and innovative companies can improve transparency
