Ensure strict compliance to the following steps to minimize the risk of violating competition laws

Prior to meetings:

• Draft detailed agenda that accurately reflects what is to be discussed. Agenda and meeting documents must not include issues relevant to competition law

During meetings:

• Limit discussions to topics included on the agenda• Take minutes of the full meeting• In case of spontaneous statements relevant to

competition law, react immediately and actively dissociate yourself from the violation:

o Point out to participants that this issue must not be discussed

o If necessary, postpone the discussion until you have received relevant legal clarifications

o If the discussion continues, notify your objection in the protocol, suspend the meeting or leave the meeting space

o Inform the GPCA Secretary-General or your company about the incident

After meetings:

• Minutes of meetings should be short and straightforward

Discuss, formally and informally, exchange information

about or reach agreement with competitors about:

• Pricing, price differentials, and pricing strategies

• GPPA requested by the Royal Commission and GPCA (Craig Halgreen) to facilitate this process

1. Preliminary Meeting (24th July 2016)• Held in Dubai, UAE (Hosted by SABIC)

• Core group represented by resin makers only

• Key conclusion – the committee representing all the industry stakeholders to be set-up

GENERAL CONCLUSIONS TO DATE

1. The committee accepted that SASO remit does not have the intended activity. The committee will prepare a set of objectives for SASO

2. The draft will be circulated for comment before it is given to SASO – SABIC (Abdulaziz Al-Sayyari) will present draft to SASO

3. SASO should nominate a voting member on TC138, the ISO Pipe Committee (UAE already has a voting member)

Plan for 2017• 26 Feb – 2 March, flexible for global campaigns

• Ages 7-12

• Clean-up campaigns and school visits to be conducted. Member companies to establish educational programs and activities

• The campaign remains committed to waste management and consumption and not just recycling with a focus on the 3 Rs “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” and to showcase the benefits associated with recycling

• Engage governmental bodies

• Objectives of the campaign for 2017 are:

oRemain highly focused on education and come up with way new ways of educating youth while maintaining it as a fun activity

o To spread the campaign further into more cities around the region with the help of members

o To add one additional country with the help of member companies’ affiliate offices 31

SPE Proposal

• Proposal from SPE to co-organize niche, “topical” events. For e.g. additives, blow moulding, injection moulding, extrusion, etc.

• GPCA’s recommendation for the PC is to look at these events on a case-to-case basis, not as a partnership

• SPE are proposing a partnership, offering a limited number of complimentary, annual membership to GPCA members

• 2017 calendar is fully booked so any potential events need to be scheduled in 2018
