Addressing Chronic Absenteeism IndicatorPURPOSE:To recognize the impact of the school environment on the social and academic
cultivation of students; to consider student preparedness, as determined through early warning indicators like chronic absenteeism, for elementary and middle school students (kindergarten – 8th grade)
PROPOSAL: Utilize an indicator that addresses chronic absenteeism in a positive manner● Persistent Attendee: student with exemplary attendance (96%)● Improving Attendee: student demonstrating increase in days attended from
prior to current year (>3%)
# Persistent Attendees + # Improving Attendees x Goal Factor (80%)Total # Students Enrolled
@EducateIN
English Language Proficiency Progress IndicatorPURPOSE:To recognize that proficiency of the English language is vital to the academic success of the English learner population in 1st through 12th grade, and to reward students and schools for working toward proficiency of the English language
PROPOSAL:Utilize a growth to proficiency model to establish a student’s growth trajectory toward proficiency, as measured on the WIDA ACCESS 2.0 assessment
#ELs achieving/exceeding annual growth target + #ELs attaining ELP x Goal Factor (70%) Total ELs
