Films for application to opaque surfacesThe components used in sign construction, including sources of illumination, adhesives and substrates, affect color. Although color variation is usually slight, certain components have a more obvious effect, particularly with shades of white. PANTONE® color numbers are based on refl ective light mesurements of product samples applied to a standard white substrate.

colors shown here are just the beginning. We also offer custom

Each family of fi lms has special characteristics designed to
maximize its effectiveness for its intended appllications.
• 3M™ Scotchcal™ Graphic Films have a pressure sensitive
adhesive that bonds quickly to the substrate. They include
fi lm series 210, 639, 1000, 3470, 3650, 3670LF, 3690 and
8000.
• 3M™ Scotchcal™ ElectroCut™ Graphic Films are
specifi cally designed for electronic cutting. They include fi lm
series 220, 225, 7125, 7725 and 7725SE. 3M™ Scotchcal™
ElectroCut™ Graphic Film Series 7725 and 7725SE features
our transparent synthetic layfl at liner that resists moisture
and static buildup.
• 3M™ Controltac™ Graphic Films have a pressure-
activated adhesive that allows you to position and reposition
graphics until fi rm pressure is applied. This includes fi lm
series 160, 180, 181 and fi lm 190.
• 3M™ Controltac™ Graphic Films with Comply™ Adhesive
also have air release channels for the fastest, smoothest
graphic application possible. This includes fi lm series 160C,
180C, 180Cv2, 3500C, 3690C and 3552C.
Many of 3M’s opaque fi lm colors have simulated PANTONE®
color references. While this selector shows only 3M’s standard
opaque colors, we also have thousands of custom colors, many
of which are formulated to simulate PANTONE color references.
