“The perfect contest”The Grenland International Brass Festival seems to me to be the perfect contest. It tests every aspect of a band`s playing, by having the separate mini contests, and (as it is in Norway!) is conducted in a spirit of fair play and enjoyment so that the music is as enjoyable as the contest. It sums up all the best things about brass bands and I LOVE IT!!

WelcomeThe Grenland International Brass Festival takes place in Grenland / Skien, Norway – 150 kilometers south of Oslo. The Festival was founded back in 1996 and have established itself as one of the most excitingand brilliant happenings in the brass band calendar.
“A wonderful occasion!”The Grenland International Brass Festival is a wonderful occasion! I have seen so many old friends, and normally when you go to a Festival like this, the bands only get the chance to play once for ten or fifteen minutes. Here they have the opportunity to play for so long and show what the bands can do. It is a fantastic event!

“A truly International Festival!“The Grenland International Brass Festival has become a truly International Festival! The friendship is special. The musicians support each other, it is a really family atmos-phere. The Grenland International Brass Festival is the perfect contest! You have every genre of music; in the church, the big test piece, and you can really show what you can in the own choice programme!
