DEFINING A TEAM Organizations often use different types

of groups and teams to perform tasks. 1. Basic wokgroups: Workgroups are

people who work together.2. Committees: A group of people

discuss topics that matter to the whole organisation.

3. Project teams: businesses use project teams to work on major tasks such as designing a new product etc.

4. Task forces and ad-hoc teams: they work on single defined task or activity, such as solving a problem.

5. Self-managed work teams: Such teams have a common goal. They manage themselves without supervision.

6. Special-purpose teams: Some teams have a special purpose but are permanent groups that meet regularly.
