A Letter from the Board President

The vision of Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley’s board and staff is that all parents have the knowledge and skills to be their child’s first and best teacher. This vision inspires our daily work to connect with families and offer resources and support, promoting the best possible outcomes for children, from prenatal development to school entry.

Each year, we provide an annual report to the community as a measure of accountability and transparency, making public our evaluation measures, program outcomes and financial position. Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley has worked to ensure quality within our programs and services, utilizing Parents as Teachers, an evidence-based curriculum, and maintaining affiliate status through our implementation of their model.

2017 was a dynamic year for the Family Resource Center, as board and staff bid farewell to long-time Executive Director Patty Draxler and welcomed Agnes Ring to the helm in May. The board approved expansion of the Baldwin office, and the groundwork was laid for renovation to be completed jointly with the property owners. Programmatic highlights include working more closely with our community partners, including county public health agencies and regional medical providers, to begin reaching parents prenatally through our Home Visiting program. At the close of the year, the Family Resource Center was poised for growth in 2018.

With your support, we look forward to continuing to respond to the needs of a changing population in Pierce, Polk and St. Croix counties. Through providing parents with the information, resources and support needed to help their children develop optimally during the key early years, we are investing in the long-term health of the St. Croix Valley. Thank you for making an impact in the lives of families through your continued involvement in Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley!

Sincerely,

Aaron Mork, Board President
