Screening: Free for Students ($13 for non-students) includes x-rays and a limited evaluation just to see if

they qualify for care with the school New Patient Exam: $49 for students ($69 for

non-students) comprehensive evaluation including gum exam,

additional x-rays, diagnoses, and treatment plans Cleaning with fluoride: $34 for students ($48

for non-students) Fillings for cavities: $42 on average depending

on size/material for students ($60 for non-students) Crowns: $290 for students on average ($414 for

non-students)

International Students

American Association of University Women(AAUW): International Fellowships International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who

are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are supported. Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree by September 30, 2013, and must have applied to their proposed institutions of study by the time of the application. Up to five fellowships are renewable for a second year.

Recipients are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to women and girls. Recipients return to their home countries to become leaders in business, government, academia, community activism, the arts, and sciences.

International Students American-Scandinavian Foundation: Awards for Scandinavians http://www.amscan.org/study_in_america_details.html Applicants must be citizens of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden. 1 year of funding

American speech-language-hearing foundation, graduate student scholarship Award amount is $5,000 No citizenship requirements.

Epilepsy foundation of america, pre-doctoral research training fellowships $19,000 stipend plus $1,000 to support travel to attend the annual meeting of the American Epilepsy

Society. No citizenship requirements

Lupus foundation of america, gina finzi memorial student summer fellowships young researchers in lupus erythematosus No citizenship requirements.

Philanthropic and educational organization for women, international peace scholarship fund U.S. and Canadian citizens are not eligible. Grants for women, from all countries, to pursue full-time graduate studies in the United States and Canada. Scholars

must plan to return to their countries on completion of their degree program.

American heart association predoctoral fellowships U.S. citizens and residents. Also open to holders of the following visas: F-1, J-1, H-1, H-1B, TC, TN, O-1. Supports doctoral dissertation projects which broadly relate to cardiovascular function and disease, stroke or related

clinical, basic science, and public health problems. $22,000 stipend, plus $1,000 for health insurance and $2,000 for travel to scientific meetings, publications, supplies and equipment.

Tobacco-related disease research program, dissertation research award No citizenship requirements. Fellowships offered to support dissertation research on tobacco-related issues. (Includes lung/mouth cancer from tobacco

products) 11/13/2013 -deadline for letter of intent. 1/24/13--deadline for full proposal and submission. Stipend of up to $20,000 per

year and tuition/enrollment fee remission of up to $10,000 per year.

American lung association of california, lung health research dissertation grants U.S. citizens or residents. Also open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Grants are awarded for up to two years to individuals who will conduct dissertation research on issues relevant to people

with lung disease. Deadline: 10/20/2013

Association on american indian affairs, sequoyah graduate fellowships Must be enrolled full-time in graduate school. Must have a Certificate of Indian Blood showing a quarter Indian blood as well

as proof of tribal enrollment.

American indian graduate center, graduate fellowships All applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need through submission of a Financial Needs Form (FNF) and the Free

Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Must be an enrolled member of an American Indian tribe or Alaska Native group, or posses 1/4 degree of recognized Indian blood.

SGA Important Info Main Campus Power Outages Minor outage scheduled on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 10:00 pm – 4:00 am.

Impact from this outage is expected to be minimal and emails from facilities have been sent out so check your inbox for details.

Major outage scheduled for January 16-20, 2015 (MLK weekend). Impact from this outage is expected to be substantial especially for research personnel so try to plan your experiments accordingly and be alert for details as the date approaches.

  Flu Shots on Campus The Student Health Clinic will begin offering flu shots on October 1, 2014. In

response to requests in part from the SGA reps from the graduate school, they plan to offer expanded hours for walk-in flu shots. Reminders will be sent from the Student Health Clinic via email, fliers and on the monitors near Subway. You can also check the Student Health website http://shc.uthscsa.edu/ for details after Oct. 1st
