Aims and Objectives of the GPC
Our primary aim to create:
A Centre of Excellence for Contract Administration & Document Control,
Planning & Scheduling, Cost Management, and Forensic Analysis.
In pursuing its primary aim the GPC will operate under the following objectives:
1. Promoting the recognition of the Guild membership and the contribution they make within their professional domains and organisations.
2. Setting appropriate educational, experience and behavioural standards that define Guild membership.
3. Creating a recognised career framework for the development of members that reflects the needs of the membership and the requirements of the their domains and organisations.
4. Providing a framework that supports the membership in the pursuit of their day-to-day activities and manages a reference centre of best practices.
5. Through collaboration and promotion, developing alliances with other organisations that will contribute to the strategic development of the Guild’s aims and objectives.

We have defined the Membership Criteria and have developed the interim Fees model. The final model will be deployed once the accreditation processes are deployed

1. The Consolidation and Release of our Standards of Practices.
2. The Deployment and Proving of our initial Accreditation Processes and Practices.
3. Release and deployment of formal processes and procedures for Membership Registration including Fees and Advanced Standing Definitions.
4. Definition and deployment of Initial Membership Services and Support Structures.
5. Deploy initial Guild Infrastructure, Communications and WEB based services.
6. Initial deployment of the Constitution and associated Governance Structures including Regional Management Councils.

Knowledge Testing & Capability Validation This is the current draft that is being discussed by the management team & sponsors
The Guild is finalising contract relationships to engage a multi-lingual, globally capable, quality assured and independent examiner to facilitate any necessary ‘examination processes’

• I already have Professional Qualification(s) - the Guild recognises industry related professional qualifications such as the CIOB, PMI, APM, ACOSTE, AACEI and also further education awards.
• What does this mean for me? - you would be eligible for a higher level of membership within the Guild.
• What do I need to do? - you tell us what level you believe you should be awarded and what career path you are aligned to and why, and the Guild will evaluate and map the professional qualifications to the Guild certifications.
• Then what? – upon verification, you will be awarded this level and be flagged “Self Accredited”. Once the Guild’s accreditation process is running you will be requested to verify your skills by carrying out the Guild’s own processes, however, verification my not
be necessary depending upon the agreements made with these other bodies.
• Do I still need to pay? - you will be eligible for a major discount on all costs.

Membership Fees
From discussions with the membership and corporate partners, the current plan is to introduce the following:
• Yearly Membership Fee: The full scale of Fees will not be determined until
the full deployment of the accreditation processes have been undertaken. Therefore, for the initial joining as a “Registered Member” we will be seeking a minimal contribution based on the cost of operations in your region.
• To accommodate Global Variations in income and the cost of living, this will be factored in accordance with indices set by the World Bank Organisation.
• Fees will be discounted if employer is a Corporate Supporter of the Guild.
• Guild operates open-book accounting to assure members where any monies are going.

The benefits of early registration will include:-
• The authorised use of the title “REGISTERED MEMBER” so communicating your commitment to others in raising the standards and profile of the disciplines within the GPC remit.
• Acceleration of your accreditation once the processes are fully deployed.
• Immediate access to the internal communications and other documentation being deployed to support the your activities by the Guild.
• Opportunity to contribute to the development of the Guild in your geographical or interest area by participating in the various Guild sponsored activity groups.

The self assessment is an honour- process to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses and to help identify were you may wish to improve.
It is NOT part of the accreditation demonstrating competence.
A Guild Officer will liaise with you in this step to welcome you to the Guild and identify contacts for you

Regional Update
Progress to date
• The geographical spread of the Guild Interest Groups (GIG) across the globe has grown significantly over the last 12 months.
• We have a mix of established groups in regions such as Abu Dhabi, London and Melbourne whilst we have emerging groups in regions like Yemen, Hong Kong and Bulgaria.
These meetings are vital to the Guild success. They are a way to reach out and connect with the local Planning and Project Controls community and have now reached a point of maturity where they need organising within a common framework.
Moving forward, we intend to form Regional Management Councils (RMC) and we envisage that active members of the local Guild Interest Groups will become members and support the wider aspirations of the Guild both locally and within the RMC Framework

Standards of Practice (SoP)
The Guild is setting “Standards of Practice”, through the Professional Standards Committee, that will set the expectations that employers will have of Guild Members. These standards form the bedrock of our capabilities and are one of the fundamental changes the Guild will introduce into the working environment. Remember these standards are set by your peers so you can influence them. The Guild and its members will classify and adhere to defined Standards of Practice:

Guild Constitution Overview
Why have a Constitution?
A constitution has been chosen as the mechanism for outlining the fundamental principles that are used to govern the Guild of Project Controls. It outlines the operating rules and mechanisms that allow the Guild to function and identifies how the members decide what the Guild does and how its officers operate.
What is meant by Governance?
Governance is fundamentally the application of the rules that control activity undertaken by those associated with the Guild and its Operational processes. It outlines the expectations and procedures that oversee the conduct of all activity and defines the steps related to ensuring the adherence of all involved.
Who is governed by the Constitution?
All Members, Guild Officers, Senators and the President are bound by the constitution and the policies it invokes. Each of the above have their own unique Terms of Reference. The operation of the Senate, Governance and Regional Management Councils are all governed by the Constitution. ALL CONSTITUTIONAL DOCUMENTS CAN BE VIEWED ON THE GUILD INTERNET SITE
