Assessment Scheme
9. Gyan Ganga
The project looks to provide the
citizens of rural Gujarat the
advantage of health counselling,
information related to
agriculture, services of
veterinary doctors and
education right in their village.
They can videoconference from
kiosks, helping them interact
freely with those far away. Over
and above this, information
related to the various
Government schemes too would
be provided.
As of now the project has been
started in seven out of sixteen
initially planned locations and
around 200 kiosk information
centers are currently operational.
Three more projects are on the
verge of commencement within a
month or two. The project looks to
cover about 3,000 villages on
completion.
10. Mahitishakti
It involves setting up of manned
information access centers with
access to information on a
computer or a kiosk.
Information is provided on a
browser and is also available on
the web at
www.mahitishakti.net. The
application includes online
forms for the citizens for the
ration card and the Old age
Pension Scheme. Information
related to other schemes and
relevant to the region is also
provided through the number of
Mahiti Shakti Kendras setup at
the dairy cooperative & district
cooperative banks and STD/PCO
booths.
80 Mahiti Shakti Kendras (MSKs)
have been set up so far and 76 out
of 80 have been running
successfully, there are 25 MSKs are
in Dairy centers. The 45 enthusiastic
kiosk operators have earned Rs.
6,88,305/- by selling 46,721 forms
up to December 2004. As many as
200 forms have been made
available on-line. Information
pertaining to ongoing schemes like
those under the District Rural
Development Agency and District
Planning Board have also been
made available. The web-enabled
version of the Gujarat Geographic
Information System (GGIS) giving
details of the resource availability in
terms of 95 parameters of every
village of the district is available on

a query-based system.
Revenue Department already
hosted the web sites of all 25
district collectors. To have proper
interface with GSWAN and the
common information and services
from District collector’s web site,
now, the website is hosted at the
Server Farm.
11.Sales Tax and
Treasury
The online sales tax and
treasury services deal with
payments, books, deposits and
EMD, stamp management, LC as
well as pension.
In use by all the departments and
facilitates timely submission of all
accounted information and easy
generation of reports on demand.
12. Talimrozgar
Website www.talimrozgar.org
developed which contains data
related to all the jobseekers
registered in the various
employment exchanges
All employment exchange centres
connected and a comprehensive
database is available at site for both
employers and job-seekers with a
provision of online registration as
well.
13. TeleFariyad
“Chief Minsiter’s Call Centre”
enables an easy-grievance
redressal mechanism for the
public anywhere in Gujarat.
Offers a uniform telephone
number 1505 for registering
complaints and reduces
paperwork by transferring a
paper-based process into a web-
based application and gives
people the chance to register
their grievance from their
homes.
Complaints are received at the
District GSWAN center. They are
compressed and transmitted to the
Chief Minister’s Office,
Gandhinagar. The existing
infrastructure of GSWAN, Server
farm and the Chief Minister’s Web
Center are used to receive,
transcript and forward complaints
to the respective Heads of
Departments for redressal. The
entire process takes a mere 10
minutes.
14. GSWAN GSWAN is the backbone
