FCA Venezuela Team

July marks our One -Year anni-

versary of FCA in the city of

Valle de La Pascua, Venezuela.

Over 200 coaches, 3,600 ath-

letes, and 4,500 family mem-

bers for a total of over 8,300

people were directly impacted.

The fact that God so richly

blessed this community was

not the surprise. It’s how He

did it. Many business owners,

individuals, and churches all

rallied around the ministry

providing for the physical

needs of the families we serve.

All in all, we were able to pro-

vide food for over 800 people.

Pictured below is one of our

soccer teams that we serve. Each of the athletes received 3

dozen eggs to provide much

needed protein for them and

their families. Considering the

chaotic and volatile state that

Venezuela is in, to see such

generosity caused many, includ-

ing yours truly to break out in

tears. What God has done in

this city in just one short year is

just amazing. I am truly humbled

and thankful.

On behalf of the all the lives

touched in this community, our

FCA Venezuela Staff, and my-

self, thank you for the confi-

dence you have put in us! Your

prayers and financial support

are a true blessing and make a

significant impact. You are

providing local coaches and

athletes with the resources

needed to share Christ’s love

Coach Pedro Salazar was one of the

first coaches to embrace FCA for his

team… but not for himself. He first

attended our FCA Baseball Camp and

Coaches Clinic and then later our 3

Dimensional Training Seminar after

which he requested an FCA Chaplain

to serve his team. At that time we

didn’t have enough volunteer Chap-

lains (we still don’t) to serve his team

so FCA Guárico Director Gustavo

personally served his team. In the

beginning while Gustavo was sharing

devotions with the team Coach Sala-

zar would remain far enough away so

as to not appear to be apart of the devo-

tion but yet close enough to hear every

word that Gustavo spoke. Eventually,

Coach Salazar accepted Christ and has

continued to be discipled by Gustavo.

Coach Salazar is one of over 200 coaches

that have been impacted through the minis-

try of FCA in our first year of ministry here

in Valle de La Pascua. We ask for your

prayers for all the coaches because:

….”a coach will impact more lives in one year

than most people will in a lifetime…”

The number one reason why kids

play sports in both Colombia and

Venezuela is to escape their situa-

tion at home. While we have been

successful reaching athletes and

providing them a “refuge” when they

are with us we don’t feel that we are

accomplishing the full mission of

FCA unless we are also reaching

their family… i.e. the place they are

trying to escape. To that end we

dedicate time each week to minister

to the families of the athletes in their

homes that are part of FCA and

either connect them to a local

church or in some cases, plant an

FCA Church. Lets face it, times are

extremely chaotic and volatile in

Venezuela right now. Financial stress,

broken relationships, and lack of

hope are the norm so please keep us

in your prayers at we aim to share

God’s love and help reconcile rela-

tionships.
