‘Those who trust in the Lord are as Mount Zion, which cannot be
moved but abides forever. As the mountains sur- round Jerusalem so
the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. For
the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the
righteous so that righteous will not put forth their hands to do
wrong. Do good, O Lord, to those who are good and to those who are
upright in their hearts. Psalm 125:1-4

Dear Members and Friends of HSK: I think we have all been reading
the news about countries that are treating more sick people as well
as burying the dead. The pictures of people standing beside the
grave of their relative or friend who is in the same grave with
many other people is so sad. ‘Trenches’ are now dug to bury the
dead! When will this sickness and death stop? However, for
Christians I think the Bible has some good news no matter what
happens to us: ‘For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with
a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of
God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive
and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to
meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the
Lord’(1 Thess. 4:16-17). Hallelujah! These past few weeks has made
me wonder what other pastors are speaking to the members of their
churches. Last week I watched an American pastor speaking from his
church office on the Internet and he was encouraging his members to
read the book of Job. Job, as you may know, was a man who suffered
so much pain and loss. He did not have the corona virus but the
Bible says he had ‘sore boils from the sole of his foot to the
crown of his head’(Job 2:7). And in the end what do you think he
realized about God? ‘I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear
but now my eye sees You’(Job 42:5). That
pastor’s conclusion of what is afflicting the multitudes was this:
‘We must see the Lord!’ To all of those who are watching me on your
computer each Sunday, I ask you to also join me and others in
prayer every Sunday night this month. You will see us kneeling and
praying and as we pray, you can pray too. We will be in prayer for
just about an hour which is not a long time. And if you have kids,
think of something they can do while you ‘watch and pray’. This is
so important…praying…asking the Lord to protect us….seeking healing
for those who are sick. What do you think? Let’s do it! In a part
of last Sunday’s message, I shared with you a feeling I have had
for several weeks. What feeling? I have felt like I was in a
tunnel…felt the darkness that a tunnel makes. And I cannot see the
end of the tunnel…no light. I do not like that feeling. This past
week, I still have that tunnel feeling. I wish I could say the
feeling is gone but it hasn’t. However when I finished the mes-
sage last Sunday I think I know better what I should be doing: Not
lose heart! ‘For consider Him who has endured such hostility by
sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose
heart’(Hebrews 12:3). Shall we go on with God? Let’s do it! Your
pastor………..Ben

Many thanks to all who prayed for Ruth-san’s relatives in New York
City. But all are not Christians yet! Please continue to pray for
them.
Will you pray for Satomi-san’s mother and father who will both have
surgery sometime in June? And may they come to know Jesus
soon.
We must keep praying about the ending of COVID-19! Please ask the
Lord to bless the Christians who may be sick. May the Lord have
mercy on us all!
Let’s keep praying for the children of our church. We love them
all!
May our Internet viewers all be blessed and be able to come to
church soon. Let’s ask the Lord to make their faith stronger.
Please pray for our worship team. They desire to be used by the
Lord at HSK!
Please keep praying for the medical staff who are caring for many
patients with the corona virus. May they stay well.
Pastor Ben’s mother, Wrae-san, is having bad pain in her back. This
week, who will pray for her to be healed?
Someone recently said that there are two kinds of virus afflicting
people. One is the corona virus and the other is fear virus! And
the fear virus may be infecting far more people than the corona
virus. Please make sure you do not have the fear virus! For the
Lord has said, ‘When you pass through the waters, I will be with
you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you
walk through the fire, you will not be scorched nor will the flame
burn you’(Isaiah 43:2). Note: If you do not want your prayer
request in the church bulletin, please mark that clearly on your
prayer request card.

Thoughts to ponder… from the book, Hungry For More of Jesus By:
David Wilkerson
When someone is going through the fire of sifting, what should
those around him do? What did Jesus do about Peter’s imminent fall?
Jesus said, “I have prayed for you, that your faith not fail.” I
look at this wonderful example of Christ’s love and realize I know
almost nothing about how to love those who fall. Surely Jesus is
that “friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24). He
saw both the good and the bad in Peter and concluded, “This man is
worth saving. Satan desires him, but I desire him all the more.” He
was sold out to greed and covetousness and that became an open door
for Satan. But Peter truly loved the Lord, and Jesus told him, “I
have prayed for you.” Jesus had seen this coming for a long time.
He had probably spent many hours before His Father talking about
Peter—how he loved
