Jonathan,

who

was

bom in Kimberly,

South

Africa has preached the Good News since his teen

years. After marrying Sheila Compton,

the two

served

in

Szeged, Hungary

and

continued in

the

Work

of

the Lord. They have been team

leaders

for new

missionary

work

and

have never

faltered in fai th

or

the

message,

to honor

the

lord.

Jonathan

has

led

many

to

the lord

having done missionary work for

over 12 years, he

is now

33 years

old.

Because

of

being bom with

 F

 Cystic Fibrosis ,

Jonathan now

needs a

double

lung transplant and is raising funds for the

operation

and related

expenses. If

the

lung transplant is

successful, the

doctors suggest th at it can

add years to Jonathan s life (and therefore his service to

the lord

and His

BABY

A N D

TRANSPLANT

Sheila and I w er e just thrilled when we fou nd out that we were pregnant.

The d oc to r s ai d t hat she is due on July 1st. Lor d willing. S he il a had her first

sonogram this past week and everylhing is going well. She is 11 weeks

along. We were able to see the heart beat

and

the little arms and legs

moving. This whole baby thing is really cool. Way to go God.

The other big news that we have, as most

of

you might already know about

is the fact that I am now officially on a lung transplant list now. I have been

on

the

list for a little over two weeks now. I carry a

beeper

when I am away

from the house and I must stay within two hours

of

the hospital in Dallas.

We praise the Lord for all

of

your prayers and financial support towards the

lung fund, etc. We do not know where on the list I am, and it really is up to

the right donor, not where I am on the list, as to when I get called. The

donor must be the right blood type and wdthin 6 inches

of

my height. They

say that lungs are hard to come by, since they are often damaged. I could

get called anytime from today until a year or more. We know that God

knows when the right timing is. We are glad that it is all in Gods hands and

n o t our s

on your own understanding; in all your

ways

acknowledge him

•a nd he will direct

your

paths.

Sheila and 1 are also thankful that younger sister, Karen and husband Toai

and little Jon athan will be living with us for awh ile after the

new

year.

Their timing for being here to help is perfect. Between the new baby on the

way and my future transplant, God willing, this could be a busy year ahead.
