    Y E S

Youth Educational Services is a sister organization of Out

    incorporated

    to provide a

vehicle to help students and teachers

    enter

    countries that

    are resistant to the Gospel.

    STUDEI \T I I ^TE I tNATIONAL RESEARCH

    iS I R

The S.I.R. project is a project within

    Y.E.S.

    which utilizesChris

    tian students to

    conduct

vital research of one of the 12 000 un

reached people groups in the world in order to find out what is

needed to enter that coimtiy and work among that people group.

In this program, a Christian student can serve for a short term

visit to do research as a rep for Y.E.S. and in this way go into a

foreign country as a student on an educational research project.

The student can spend a few days to study the culture and lan

    guage of a

    people even

in remote locations of the country, with

out being seen as a threat to the government or it s political posi

tion. A volunteer in the S.I.R. project will be assigned an un

reached people group. Volunteers will beasked to:

    • S[ end one hour each month gathering iDfonnation on

their unreached people group. (We will showyou what to

    look for.)

    Spend

one hour eachmonth in prayerfor their unreached

people group. (The infonnation you collect will

    guide

    youin

    prayers.)

    • Participate in advanced research (optional for each vol

unteer), by spending 2-3 weeks in the country to investi

    gate an unreached

    people

    group, researching their par

    ticular

needs. (We will teach you what you need to know to

accomplish this.) The approximate cost for this trip is 2,500.

    June/July 2004

There has been a lot going on this summer in O.I. and with us too. I spen

two weeks in June at camp one High School week and one First Chanc

week. Camps are always a fun time with the kids and a change of pace bu

most importantly it is a time to teach the kids and see changes in them a

    they

    get closer to the Lord.

    MISSIONARY

    UPDATES

We are happy we are able to serve the 20 or so singles and families tha

serve full time with O.I. Many people come

    under

    O.I. and then later wil

go on to other mission organizat ions or

    start

    their own. We always

    encour

age this. We want to serve the missionary as needed. With that being said

Mendall Rogers who went to Equatorial Guinea in January resigned from

O.I. in May and is now teaching there with a company. We also had to le

one of our local evangelists in Haiti go a couple of months back. We had

some problems with Brenus and needed to withdraw

    our

    partnership wit

him. If you would like more information about these two changes pleas

    d o n t h e si t a t e to ask .

    November/December 2004

    Congratulations to

    my

    sister Karen

    and

    her husband

    Toai at

    the

birth of their 5th child on December 13th. Joshua Gabriel was born healthy.

Karen is doing great too. Praise the Lord for the gift of life. Toai

    and

    Karen

are back here in the States in Bedford Texas for furlough for about eight or

nine months. Please keep the family and the work they are involved in over

in Southeast Asia in your prayers. They have been here in the States since

mid October. It has been a lot of fun getting them settled into an apartment

    here in Bedford and also

    spending

    time

    with

    them again.

Congratulations to my other younger sister Sonja

    and

    her

    new

    hus

band Dale Hawkins. They were married November 6th in Bethel Missouri.

    Karen,

    her

    family

    and

Fran and her family from South Africa, were there

    with

    us. It

    was

    the first time

    we had

all been together for several years.

    We all had a

    good

time and a joyous time celebrating Dale and Sonja s

    mar

    riage.

    Glad

    to have Dale

    part

    of

    the

    family. Dale has

    been

    a blessing and a

    help

    with orientations for

    new

    recruits. His

    input

    will continue to

    be help

ful and a blessing to all involved.

    There is a

    new

    couple

    working

    with Outreach International) Josh

    and

    Susan

    Sanchez. Josh is

    the grandson

    of Gil Contreras. He

    grew

    up

    in

Mexico. Josh and Susan have been working for several months in Hondu

ras. They were involved with teaching in a school and doing preaching,

    teaching, and discipllng. They have

    been

    able to leave

    that

    work

    with

    other

missionaries. They are in the pro

    gress of

    making

    a

    move

    to Mex

ico. They will be on their way to

Manzani l lo Mexico on Decembe r

    the 15th

    to do some

    survey work

    to find

    out

    where the greatest ^

    plant

    would

be and f ind ou t

    w h a t

    needs

    to

    be

    done

to get that work started etc.

Please keep them in your prayers

as they are needing extra support

and as they begin this new work there. Josh
