Note from the Pastor: I have received some complaints that our staff is not giving you the quality of service that you deserve. It is easier for the parish staff to help you when you follow the proper procedures. I would like to remind you of the guidelines regarding the following:
Sick Please let us know when you or a family member are ill, in the hospital, or having a surgery, especially if the illness or surgery is serious. Call the Parish office so that we can put the name on the sick list for prayers and/or visitation if needed. If a loved one is in need of anointing and is in the hospital, please contact the hospital/hospice chaplain through the nurses unit. If your loved one is at home, please contact the parish office. Keep in mind that scheduling a visit can take a few days, so please don’t wait until the last minute. Funerals In the unfortunate event that a loved-one has passed, the first contact should always be the Funeral Director at your chosen funeral home. If you would like to have services here at the parish, please inform the Funeral Director at the funeral home. They know how to contact our office, after that we will contact you for the final liturgy arrangements. The Director will then contact the church to discuss coordination of visitation/rosary and the funeral liturgy. Because we lack the space, we cannot allow any family receptions after funerals. Weddings Preparation for the sacrament of Matrimony begins at least 6 months to one year before your desired date. Arrangements for a reception venue should not be secured before approval of a date from the church. Please contact Diana Zamora at the Parish Center Office to discuss arrangements for your wedding. Quinceañeras A quinceañera is not a Sacrament. At OLMC we do not offer a Mass for a quinceañera. We have a liturgy of the word with a special quineañera blessing. For information regarding quinceañeras, please contact Estela Flores at the Parish Center Office.
At OLMC, we have just one priest so scheduling can be difficult. If you want to schedule a visiting priest, by the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Galveston- Houston, the priest should receive special delegation from the Pastor, which must be arranged through the appropriate coordinator. Enfermedad Por favor háganos saber cuando ustedes o algún miembro de su familia estén enfermo, en el hospital, o teniendo una cirugía, especialmente si la enfermedad o cirugía es seria. Si un ser querido requiere unción de los enfermos y está en el hospital, por favor contacten en el mismo hospital al capellán a través de la unidad de enfermería. Si su ser querido está en casa, por favor contacte con la oficina parroquial. Tenga en cuenta que programar una visita puede tomar unos días, así que por favor no espere hasta el último momento. Funerales En el desafortunado caso que a un ser querido haya fallecido, el primer contacto debe ser siempre el Director de la Funeraria, en la funeraria elegida. En OLMC, tenemos solo un sacerdote así que la programación puede dificultarse. Trinity Dome Collection May 13-14, 2017
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, is the largest Roman Catholic Church in North America and is among the ten largest churches in the world. Designated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as a National Sanctuary of Prayer and Pilgrimage, the Basilica is our nation’s preeminent Marian shrine, dedicated to the patroness of the United States, the Blessed Virgin Mary under her title of the Immaculate Conception. This great Marian shrine has been a work in progress since the laying of its foundation stone in 1920. Now, as the on hundredth anniversary approaches, a national effort is underway to complete this “Hymn in Stone” as envisioned by its founder, Bishop Thomas J. Shahan, with the mosaic ornamentation of the Trinity Dome, its “Crowning Jewel.” The Trinity Dome Collection will provide the faithful with an opportunity to contribute to the legacy begun by their ancestors, to include honoring their Catholic heritage and entrusting themselves and their families to the Mother of God. Thank you in advance for you support of this initiative to help complete America’s Catholic Church in advance of its 100th anniversary.

La Basílica del Santuario Nacional de la Inmaculada Concepción en Washington DC, es la más grande Iglesia Católica Romana en Norte América y está entre las diez Iglesias más grandes del mundo. Designada por la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de Estados Unidos como un Santuario Nacional de Oración y Peregrinaje, la Basílica es el Santuario Mariano Supremo de nuestra nación, dedicado a la patrona de los Estados Unidos, la Bendita Virgen María bajo la advocación de Inmaculada Concepción. En este gran Santuario Mariano se ha trabajado desde la colocación de su primera piedra en 1920. Ahora que está próximo el centenario, se está llevando a cabo un esfuerzo nacional para completar este “Himno en Piedra” como lo prevé su fundador el Obispo Thomas J.Shahan, con el mosaico de la Bóveda de la Trinidad las “Joyas de la Corona”. La colección de la bóveda de la Trinidad proporcionará a los fieles la oportunidad de contribuir al legado iniciado por sus antepasados, que incluye honrar su herencia y encomendarse a ustedes mismos así como a sus familiares a la Madre de Dios. Attention All Graduates! OLMC invites all 2017 graduates from 8th grade, 12th grade and college for an opportunity to be enrolled in the scapular, a special blessing for the beginning of their new journey and recognition of their accomplishments. It will be held on June 4th at the 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM Masses. We invite all graduates to wear their cap and gown and to sit in the front pews.
