November Celebration The festival Diwali signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair. This is the biggest and brightest festival of all Hindu Festivals. Diwali means row of lamps, the lights illuminate our homes, hearts. The sounds of the fire crackers, joy, togetherness and hope. Many festivals are celebrated at Tiruvannamalai throughout the year, among them Karthigai Deepam the ten days main festival is the most significant. The 10th day Deepam is celebrated on 17th November. Lighting the lamp is an auspicious symbol, it is important for all Hindu rituals and festivals – it is believed to wipe off evil forces and shower the prosperity and joy.

Rainbow Life Children Home The performer of November month in the Rainbow Life Children Home among the boys is Chandru. The performer of November month in the Rainbow Life Children Home among the girls is Jaya. The above children show good disciplinary attitude, guiding the younger children, keeping their belongings and surrounding clean and tidy, helping others.

Educational Information The monthly 2nd slip test is conducted for the children studying in Sri Srinivasa Higher School Adi Annamalai and VDS Higher secondary school, Tiruvannamalai commenced from 11th November and it completed on 20th November. Thiagarajan, studying Diploma Course in Rajalakshmi Polytechnic College, his first semester exams started on 7th November, he attended his exams till 25th November. Celebrations The birthdays of the children are celebrated with great joy and happiness. The children are provided with Cakes to share their joy with our home children and provided with Chocolates to share the joy with their school friends and teacher.

In November month Loordhupriya celebrated on 16th, Meenu celebrated her birthday on 22nd and Rajeswari & Harish celebrated their birthday on 27th of this month. All are enjoyed their celebration. The children of Rainbow Life Children Home are celebrated the Diwali (Festival of Lights) with New Dresses, unique food menu and eatables and with different type Fire Crackers.

Our home is filled with lights.

Parents / Relatives Visit / Home Visit In November month in total 14 parents / relatives are visited the children 7 of them are for the boy children, and 7 parents / relatives are visited the girl children in our children home. 17 parents / relatives are not visited their children during November month. In this 9 of them for boys and 8 of them for Girls. We provided the children with extra attention, counseling. Ramya is taken by her Aunty and Uncle from 10th to 19th November, for the formal procedure of puberty family gathering. Agila &  Barani’s brother came on 10th November saying that the mother is sick she is willing to see  the  children,  considering  the mother’s  health we  sent  the  children  along with  the  brother. The children are not turned back after the stipulated time, then our staff team member visited the house of the children. The mother of the children is not willing to send back the children, because she is sick she is willing to keep the children with her and it will be helpful if the children is along with the mother.

Local Donation Sneha’s mother provided her with new dresses on 2nd November. Ramya’s uncle provided her with new dresses on 2nd November. Chandru’s  mother  provided  him  with  new dresses for Diwali celebration. K. Vinodhini’s  father,  Seriyandhal Village,  provided  the  breakfast  on  7th November. On 17th of this month a devotee provided the mid time meals to our children. Mr. Arumugam, B.A., B.L., provided the special meals on 30th November.

Asha’s elder sister brought the snacks Mixture, Sweets while she visit her on 23rd November. Vishnu’s mother provided chocolates, biscuits while she came to visit him on 24th November. Asha & Sneha’s mother brought the snacks mixture, banana, murukku on 30th November Staff Information Mrs. Kumari joined as a cook from 3rd November. She worked as a cook in the Hariksha Learning Centre. Now she is willing to stay with our Rainbow Life Children Home and prepare a tasty, variety food to our children. Mrs. Eswari attended an interview on 28th November for the House Educator position. She is with under graduation in teaching, educational qualification. She had a working experience worked as a field staff in a NGO. She is a widow, one son is studying in an university (Engineering). She will join in the job from 2nd December. Maintenance On 12th of November we made service of the Vehicle of Rainbow Life Children Home. The suspension plate, self motor are made ready for the good condition running of the vehicle. The vehicle had starting trouble, for which we made service. The vehicle had problem with Starting motor, Indicator, Brake – all the complaints made ready.

The Boy’s studying  in VDS Higher Secondary School are provided with the Government Free Bi-Cycle. As the bi-cycle is not very well fit, we made complete service and re-fitting of the bi-cycles to make it for the complete use. In Girls home the water line has blockage for which all the water line are examined and the necessary repair made. The pipelines are made it clear and the good water flow ensured for the children. Temporary Custody The Boy Harish Kumar is presented before the Child Welfare Committee, Tiruvannamalai. As the boy is new to that place he is not answer the questions properly, so they sent back the boy to our home for the temporary custody. They told that they will make the necessary investigation of the boy through the Government Probation Officer and try to found a suitable solution for the child’s care and protection.  Otherwise they have a plan to transfer the child to the Government Children Home, Ranipet. We are waiting the report from the Probation Officer for a best future for the boy. On 28th November staff Mr. Srinivasan, from the District Child Protection Unit came and made investigation with the boy Harish regarding the details, his native, his parents and family members details. Medical Treatment Due to the climate changes a few children are affected with the opportunity sickness. The children are taken to the clinics for the treatment, they all are provided with the needed medicines. The names of the children treated for the opportunity sickness are given below 1. Chandru, 2. Pandiyan, 3. Gopalakrishnan, 4. Asha, 5. Rajeswari, 6. Sasikala & 7. Sneha Banupriya’s follow up treatment for her hand fracture made this month.  The Orthopedician Dr. Sundaresan made the needed medical examination and found that the fractured is cured well.

Parents Meeting 9th November 2013 Celebrations The festival of lights Diwali is celebrated with our Hariksha Learning Centre children with great joy, happy and good festival mood. The children are provided with Sweets, burnt the colorful fire crackers, small sound crackers. The children are enjoyed much the celebration.

Government Registration After all the necessary documents submission to the Government, after all proceedings of the Principal Secretary / State Commissioner for the Differently Abled, the registration under Section 52 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and full Participation) Act, 1995 for the period from 01.03.2012 to 28.05.2015 issued, PR O C . N O . 6508/ST 2/2013, Dated: 29.10.2013, vide Sl. No. 507/2013. Staff Meeting On 9th November we also conducted the staff team members gathering. In this meeting we were discussed about the regular intensive practice in the sports event towards the state level sports competition in Chennai. The last three month children activities, goals achievement reports are prepared and submitted. The reports are reviewed, the children development achievements are evaluated. Based on the last three month evaluation the children’s new goals, objectives for the next three months is assigned and discussed with the members. The children daily routine, information are shared in the consultative meeting. The participation and preparation for the state level sports meet for the differently abled person information are discussed. Parents Meeting The Parents Staff Meeting took place on 9th November 2013, in this meeting 30 parents / relatives  actively  participated.   We  were  discussed  about  the  children’s  information  with  the parents, the parents are shared their expectations, their children information with us. Apart from this we were discuss about the uniform contribution from the capable parents, the present  goals  of  their  children,  about  the  therapy  programs  and  the  Children’s individual information.

Revenue Divisional Officer Visit The Revenue Divisional Officer with the powers of Sub Divisional Magistrate for the entire Revenue. On 23rd November 2013 the Revenue Divisional Officer made a surprise visit to our Hariksha Learning Centre. After completion of the construction of our Hariksha Learning Centre he visited all the rooms and buildings.

As soon as the RDO visit to our Learning Centre we submitted the photographs of the building, the official documents of the land, blue print of the building. Also he participate the parents meeting and ask the children development and center day to day activity, District Differently Abled Welfare Officer Visit The District Differently Abled Welfare Officer Madam made the surprise visit to our Learning Centre on 30th November. She verified the children in our Learning Centre, the number of the children, the facilities provided to the children, the rehabilitation measures we are under progress for the children welfare. Then she also verified the number of the teachers, the documents regarding it, the certificates of the staff team members and she also verified the rooms of the Learning Centre.

District Level Sports Meet The District Level Sports Meet took place on 20th November 2013 in Villupuram. From our Learning Centre 10 children are participated in the district level sports meet.

In this Marudhu Pandi achieved the second prize, Akash participated the 50 meters running race won 2nd prize, The team of the children participated the tennis throw ball won 2nd prize. The children team make us proud moments, they participated in the various sports events won prizes and they won Gold Medal and Certificates. Uniform Distribution This 1st November Ms. Lily from ODM – France distributed the stitched uniform to all the Hariksha Learning Centre children.

Maintenance In this month the vehicle maintenance has made, the suspension plate is changed. Due to the bad roads in the village the vehicle Front two tyres are got damages very often, so we change new tyres. The vehicle horn are made repair and the electrical wiring works are done.

Local Contribution In  this month  the  parent’s  contribution  towards  the  van  running  and maintenance  is  received from the following parents.   Boopathi’s parents contributed Rs. 500/-, Gokula Kannan’s parent contributed Rs. 500/- and Pavithra’s parents contributed Rs. 300/- Our staff Care taker Mrs. Shanthi from Kapplambadi provided the mid time meals for our children on 4th November towards her husband’s memory.  

Murali, Avalurpet provided the mid time meals on 11th November for his sister’s memory day.  

Mr. Venkatesan provided the mid time meals on 20th November to celebrate his son’s birthday. Subramani, Sub Inspector of Police, is supporting our children continuously, in this month he provided the mid time meals on 12th November. Our frequent supporter Mr. Balu provided the mid time meals on 14th November. The Sub Inspector provided the mid time meals on 22nd November. Ms. Buvaneswari provided the mid time meals on 26th November to share the joy of her birthday.
