Lenten Sermon Series Offered
A new, exciting movie is coming out this month
from Columbia Pictures. It is called “Risen,” and
stars Joseph Fiennes. “Risen” tells the story of a
Roman soldier at the time of the crucifixion and
resurrection of Jesus, and follows his faith-journey
up to the point of Jesus’ ascension.
I am organizing a trip to the movies after church on Sunday,
February 21st for those who are interested in seeing this amazing movie! I
will be using the movie’s themes as the basis for a five week sermon series
which will be presented beginning the second Sunday of Lent through Palm
Sunday. Weekly topics include:
Week 1 – “The Jesus You Never Knew”
Week 2 – “The Jesus Who Calls You to Stop Playing it Safe”
Week 3 – “The Resurrection: Myth of Miracle?”
Week 4 – “The Greatest Comeback in History”
Week 5 – “The Jesus Who Wants You Fully Alive”
This sermon series will explore the facts of the crucifixion and
Resurrection and I pray will help members and visitors experience the
power of the Resurrection as never before! Fliers are available so you can
help promote this experience to your friends, neighbors and co-workers.
Feel free to share this information on social media like Twitter and
Facebook. The movie trailer will be shown before worship in early
February, or you can view it on line.
Last, I would ask for your prayer support for this initiative. Ask
God for discernment as to whom you could invite to attend the movie? Or
who God would have you invite to our worship services. Ask God to soften
the hearts and prepare the minds of our congregation and our community.
May God bless and multiply our efforts on God’s behalf!

I NEVER TRAVEL ALONE When I get in my car, I’m never alone
Jesus is beside me, watching the road
We sing together, as we go along
it’s like he’s there, so I’m not alone
Never a quiet moment, with him and me
cause he’s a big part of my life, as you can see
Not only do we talk in the car,
you’ll find out he’s there, no matter where we are.
If you feel lonely or down,
call on Jesus, he’s always around.
trust me, I know This is true.

Dear Pantry Partners, We served 174 different families in 2015, with the number of persons fed was 1,787 and we furnished 37,527 meals. The number of appointments kept were 562. We gave non-food assistance to exactly 100 families this year. 55 families were given gas vouchers. The number of meals provided is calculated by taking the number of persons fed times the 21 meals (3 meals a day time 7 days) that they were given. We have quite a few seniors with chronic illnesses and who are living on just SS. We have started to carry Boost-like supplements and more adult diapers to help that group manage better. As always, all of these families would not have been helped had it not been for the continued support of our Pantry Partners. You have allowed us to assist people in times of trouble, and to make them experience the love of God. God Bless, Sharon Current OFP _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dear Pantry Partners, After 21 years coordinating the Otsego Food Pantry, I have decided the time is right to step down. I have put my heart and soul into serving those in need and worked hard to make the pantry a success. Many times I have put the pantry before my family and now I think it is time I put them first. I am going to miss working with all of you to meet the needs of our less fortunate neighbors. I am going to miss helping the people and making a difference in their lives. As I write this, I do not know who will be in charge of the pantry, but I ask that you continue to support the pantry as you have in the past. Things will no doubt change, but the mission will continue as long as your support remains strong. God Bless you all and stay well! Sharon Current
