COMPETENCY TRAININGSince 2006, we have set the standard in workforce development solutions and post trade compliance training, tailoring our approach based on industry requirements.

Far beyond rubber stamp compliance, the learning we deliver empowers our students to be change agents in their own right. We provide the tools, techniques and strategies that create future mentors, and give confidence to Supervisors, Managers and CEOs.

QUALITY AND STANDARDSOur courses deliver Australian and internationally recognised competencies from the Australian Nationally Recognised Training Scheme and the international IECEx scheme.

IECEx Recognised Training Provider

As an IECEx Recognised Training Provider, we offer the training pathway required for IECEx competency. The IECEx certification system requires relevant training provided by Competency Training, recognition of prior experience and an assessment conducted by an IECEx Certifying Body. Students develop a higher level of confidence in product assessment processes and develop a greater understanding of certified equipment and safety covered by the IECEx Certification System.

Nationally Recognised Training: AS/NZS

We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 31299) that is committed to high standards in the provision of nationally recognised training and assessment services for both individual and corporate clients.

Enrolments are accepted for those individuals and corporate clients who are looking to refresh, augment and verify the competencies of their employees. You can contact us or visit our website to verify Statements of Attainment or Qualifications issued by Competency Training.

The policies and procedures we have adopted to assure the quality of our services and compliance to the Standards for the Registered Training Organisations are available via www.competencytraining.com.au

HAZARDOUS AREAS CAPABILITYCompetency Training are specialists in the Hazardous Area Electrical area, providing all participants with hands on practical experience. We offer hazardous area inspection boards that were developed in conjunction with NHP Electrical Engineering covering the four most common explosion protection techniques used in industry, Intrinsically Safe (Ex i), Flameproof (Ex d) and Increased Safety (Ex e) for flammable gas environments and Protection by Enclosure (Ex tD) for flammable dust environments.

Students are able to do a detailed hazardous area inspection on all pieces of equipment on each board looking for various faults. The inspections focus on the specific installation requirements of each technique and each hazardous area zone. The faults on the boards cover issues such as terminations, ingress protection, damage to equipment, cable glanding, gland selection, cable requirements, labelling, certification, special conditions of use and equipment suitability to name a few.

IECEx Recognised Training Provider

Competency Training is recognised under the IECEx Recognised Training Provider Program as having implemented processes to manage and provide training services related to the selection, design, inspection, installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul and reclamation of equipment operating in explosive (Ex) atmospheres.

The awarding of Recognised Training Provider (RTP) status indicates our commitment to provide relevant training services on the basis that these have been reviewed in accordance with IECEx Operational Document OD 521.

The overriding interest of the IECEx System, particularly the IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competency Scheme is COMPETENCE. Participation in an IECEx training course provided by Competency Training provides a mechanism of providing evidence of acquired pre-knowledge of IECEx principles to achieving competence.

Competency Training delivers the following courses as pre-knowledge evidence for candidates to use as evidence for their IECEx CoPC application. An IECEx Certifying Body must complete the assessment and certification component.
