Now for the first time, aspiring rugby players can secure specialised HBRU guidance and coaching development as Magpie elite guests. With specialist coaching and education in the areas of technical, tactical , nutrition and strength & conditioning, the core program is delivered by the Hawke’s Bay Rugby Academy for players, coaches and teams in both formats of the game.

10. All Blacks Game with a NZ Experience

Travel to Auckland to watch the All Blacks v Australia in the 2nd Bledisloe challenge on the 15th of August. On the way to Auckland

You will be taken to the following tourist destinations. Skydive in Taupo and visit the Hobbiton Village in Matamata. Book into your hotel and experience a pre match test build up in the Auckland viaduct basin. Watch the All Blacks play against Australia at Eden Park. On your return to Napier, tourist destinations will include Luging in Rotorua and the thermal wonderland of Wai-O-Tapu. A NZ experience you wont forget!

11. Attend an HBRU Age Grade Holiday Camp (July)

Along with the top players in your respective age group, be a part of our Age Grade Holiday camp. Stay at one of our local boarding hostels with the rest of the squad and develop life long friendships. Be coached by our Representative team coaches and HBRU Rugby staff for 3 days. An extremely valuable learning experience.

5. Attend the HBRU Academy Camp

Join us during the off season and put your own personalized individual performance plan together while you experience a truly unique weekend away at one of NZ’s iconic destinations. Travel and stay with the NZ players to experience what its like preparing to play professional rugby in NZ.

6. Magpie Buddy

Your rugby will go from strength to strength by partnering with a current Magpie. Go out to lunch, coffee or organise to sit down with some of the best players in NZ and talk rugby.

7. Hawkes Bay Experience

You will not forget this! An all expenses paid weekend to Mountain Valley Lodge on the Mohaka river. Rafting, Paintball, Archery, Pistol Shooting, Horse Riding, Axe Throwing, Mountain Biking, Clay Bird Shooting...the works! Staying in your own cottage you can fully relax after an action packed day!

8. ITM Cup Seasons Pass

Get up close and personal with your own seat to all the Magpies home games at McLean Park, Napier. You choose 1 game to experience corporate hospitiality NZ Rugby style and attend the pre match function and meal. During this game, sit pitch side next to the players on the substitution bench and go into the changing room after the game.

9. Super XV Game (Hurricanes v Highlanders, McLean Park)

Attend a traditional NZ Super Rugby derby at McLean Park in Napier. The Hurricanes and the Highlanders are currently vying for top spot in the NZ Conference and this game is expected to be a cracker!

2. Kooga / Hawkes Bay Global Academy Training Kit

Be a fully fledged HBRU Global Academy member with playing socks, shorts, jersey, training shorts, training T, polo shirt, training jacket, hoodie, beanie, cap and bag.

3. Games videoed and coded

During their time playing in NZ, HBRU Global Academy members are assigned a team (relative to ability) and will play the season with this team. Global Academy members will get at least two of their games video’ed and fully coded by HBRU Academy staff. Players will also sit down with the Academy coaches and be given feedback on their performances using the coded footage.
