What do you mean by

HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

• A healthy lifestyle is one which helps to keep and improve people's health and well-being.

• Basically it involves having the right mindset, good healthy balanced diet and regular exercise

• About taking responsibility for your decisions and making smart health choices for today and for the future

What is meant by HEALTHY LIFESTYLE PRACTICES?

These are practices that deals on how an individual should be responsible enough to take care of themselves. These are also practices that should be properly given an important concern to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

PRACTICESPhysical Activity Goals

• Taking a walk or walking your dog

• Swimming and/or water exercise

• Participating in yoga, tai chi, and/or pilates

• Participating in an aerobics class

• Housework/Chores at home

Mental & Spiritual Health & Stress Management Goals

• Get a massage or spa treatment

• Play a card game, board game, or other game

• Volunteer in the community

• Plan a date night with your significant other

Nutrition Goals

• Eating breakfast daily

• Eating 5-9 servings of fruits & vegetables a day

• Drinking 6 or more glasses of water daily

• Limit soda, sports drinks, juice, and other high calorie beverages

• Limiting alcoholic beverages

Other Healthy Lifestyle Behavior Goals

• Getting 7-8 hours of sleep each night

• Flossing and brushing teeth daily

• Don’t smoke

• Taking a bath daily

A healthy lifestyle is a valuable resource for reducing the incidence and impact of health problems, for recovery, for coping with life stressors, and for improving quality of life

From what we eat and drink, to how much exercise we take, and whether we smoke or take drugs, all will affect our health, not only in terms of life expectancy, but how long we can expect to live without experiencing chronic disease.

Therefore, apply the healthy lifestyle practices for a better and well-cared individual.
